It's going down I'm yelling "timber!" on Love & Hip Hop as of late. Thankfully, last night marked the end of an extra long season, and man, was it messy! It begins with Erica Mena and Cynshopping for Cyn's pooch and rehashing Rich Dollaz' bad behavior at Erica's book launch. Why can't they all just get along, whines Erica…she just wants Rich and Cyn to be able to be cordial. While Cyn still finds "Bitch Dollaz to be corny as hell" (love it!), she agrees to play nice if he will. Meanwhile, Tara Wallace and Yandy Smith are shopping, and can I say how wonderful Yandy's hair looks? The bob is so sleek. Tara shares Peter Gunz' visit, and she's ready to move on after his apology. Yandy surprises her friend by offering her a role in her new movie.
Rich and Peter are meeting for dinner so that Rich can boo hoo about Erica and Cyn. He reveals that he and Erica have been doing the hippity dippity for the past week and making up for lost time. If Cyn runs her mouth to Rich at Erica's showcase, he has major plans to spill that little secret. He's so klassy. Peter knows that the Erica's show is going to be big…she's got quite a following, even if they are ratchet.
What the hell? Why is Nick Cannon making a cameo? Does he owe Mona money? Peter is seeking advice from Mr. Mariah Carey about his love triangle with Amina and Tara. Nick gives good advice, but I still feel badly that he had to make an appearance on this circus. Isn't Peter old enough to be his dad?
Can I just tell you how much I love the fact that Joe Budden proposed to Tahiry Jose on last night's Love & Hip Hop with a wad of gum in his mouth? Throughout his romantic speech, he's just chomping away. He gets down on one knee while Tahiry begs him to stand up…that's not a good sign. Tahiry turns down his proposal. She wonders how he can go from allowing a chick to hang out in her bed to buying a ring, and she can't trust him. The Professor decides that he will wait for her to change her mind. A teary Joe walks away, and Tahiry is comforted by her family. Awkward!
Peter Gunz is hanging out at this local cigar shot an awful lot…maybe he's squatting there. Saigon drops in on him to catch up, and he thinks that Amina Buddafly must be a great wife because she's German. Saigon is a lover of German porn. Peter is surprised to hear that his friend has asked Erica Jean to move in with him. He's ready to finally get to know his baby mama, and what better way than living under the same roof?
Well, well, well, it looks like some people are getting a bigger story line on Love & Hip Hop. Peter Gunz has decided to step aside for an episode and let other people take the lead.
Tara Wallace is all about doing her (and probably Peter when he calls) these days to get over her break-up. She's ambushed by K. Michelle and Yandy Smith. Her friends want to give her a sexed up makeover, and she's completely onboard with the transformation, especially since she has a date with the actor she met at Yandy's casting call. It's settled, dirty Heidi Klum it is! The blonde wig is working for her (kind of?), but poor girl can't twerk to save her life.
Rich Dollaz is tired of the constant ups and downs with Erica Mena. He decides to seek the advice of his mom since she's been along for the ride since he started hooking up/working with Erica. Rich's mom urges him to stay focus and keep things professional. He's preparing to go to a modeling show, and he feels guilty because he's gotten all his contacts from Erica. While Rich's mother thinks Erica is sweet and beautiful, but she isn't completely irresistible. Rich needs to keep it in his pants, but it's hard for this self-described "creep."
The longer this season of Love & Hip Hop goes on, the more I like it. Seriously. There is something inherently amusing every last one of these people, and last night's episode was no exception. Let's get started, shall we?
Amina Buddafly just can't wrap her head around the fact that Peter Gunz would cheat her. It's so shocking to think that the man who cheated with you and married you on the sly and still spends the night with his ex is actually having his cake and eating it too. I'm totally floored. She's meeting with a friend to rehash the recent events, and said friend is horrified to learn that Amina has thrown her wedding ring in the trash. Amina is devastated, as she's never been happier or felt more connected to anyone until Peter. However, she's not about to let keep Peter cheating on her for years and years…she'll just let that happen to Tara Wallace. Her friend thinks Amina looks weak and foolish even entertaining the idea of forgiving Peter.
Two weeks off is a long time to be away from the crazy, delusional, bed-hopping cast of Love & Hip Hop, so I won't waste any time with an introduction. I know you've missed them as much as I have!
Tajiry Jose is so, so busy with her acting and modeling that's it's so nice to get a night off to enjoy New York Fashion Week. As she walks the red carpet, she's photo bombed by ex Joe Budden. At first she pretends to be disgusted, but she's happy to play up to the cameras. Joe tries to apologize for letting another woman lay in their bed. As she attempts to watch the show, Joe keeps trying to cop a feel. They leave in the rain, and Tajiry steals his sweater to shield her hair leaving a wet Professor standing on the sidewalk.
Amina Buddafly is catching up with sister Sophie who is visiting from Germany. She shares her marital woes, and Sophie recommends letting things remain status quo with Peter Gunz and Tara Wallace if she loves him so much. She certainly shouldn't patiently wait around for him to grow up because that is never going to happen!
So last night's Love & Hip Hop was one giant mess, was it not? Peter Gunz keeps getting worse and worse, and the women in his life have got to be the best actresses on the planet because there is no way that they are that stupid. Throw in K. Michelle's attitude, and my head is reeling. You know it's bad when Rich Dollaz and Erica Mena are the sanest folks on the episode!
Saigon invites Erica Jean to the studio to apologize for screaming at her, throwing her pocketbook, lunging at her, calling her every name under the book, and accusing her of stunting their son's development. No biggie. He explains that his father was always so ugly to his mother and it made him hate his dad. He doesn't want his son to see him treating Erica in the same manner. Erica is thrilled that Saigon has seen the light, and he actually rationally and calmly inquires as to whether she'd be alright if they both took their son to see a speech therapist. He knows his son is fine (he's clearly been doing some more googling!), but it can't hurt to see a specialist. Just think of the drama they could have avoided had he done it that way the first time!
Last night's Love & Hip Hop episode was as ratchet as ever. I love that each show ends with a mini-brawl. It's by far the most high brow show I'm watching these days…um. Of course, last night made me fall in love with Peter Gunz all over again. Swoon. Damn. I couldn't even type that without gagging a bit.
Peter is trying to figure out which lady in his life deserves more attention. He decides that he needs to focus on Amina Buddafly…after all, she is the potential breadwinner. Peter admits to her that Yandy Smith won't let Rich Dollaz sign her to their label because of her and Petey's messy situation. While she understands, she isn't happy about it. She is his wife now, not his side chick! Keep telling yourself that, hon. She's ready to live as husband and wife now that Tara Wallace knows the truth, but Peter is still spending the night as his kids' house and "working late." Here's a tip, sweetheart. He's not spending the night with his kids, but rather with their mother who may be as stupid as you are. Oh, and that working late thing? Remember when he used to "work late" with you? He's doing that with someone else. However, it's super sweet that Amina believes Peter when he tells her they can't wear wedding rings until he can afford a ring worthy for her. That will happen in about three weeks to never!
It was another drama fueled evening on last night's Love & Hip Hop. The men showed what true class acts they are with Saigon being physically restrained from going after his child's mother and Peter Gunz vowing to do whatever it takes to make sure he keeps both his wife and his girlfriend in his back pocket. At least Rich Dollaz remains his normal doormat self. Thank goodness for small favors!
To get out her aggression, Tara Wallace turns to boxing with Yandy Smith at her cousin's gym. Let's hope he doesn't take any Instagrams of the ladies like last season! Tara shares her own Instagram gold mine where she found Amina Buddafly's videos of Peter. Three glasses of wine later and she's cutting up all of his belongings. Three glasses? I would have only needed three sips to wreak havoc on Peter's gross behind. Tara asks Yandy about the management situation with Amina, and she seems to understand that it's just business. If Yandy wants to sign Amina, Tara knows that it is what it is. However, Yandy doesn't want the mess that signing Amina brings, and she assures her friend that Amina will not be a part of her label.
Saigon wants to get to know Erica Jean better since, oh, you know, they have a CHILD together. He takes her on a painting date to learn more about his baby mama on a deeper level. They chat about how great being parents is, and I have to applaud them for remembering their lines because this is the most fake conversation ever. Paging Jane Seymour–these two are poised to be the next spokespeople for Kaye's Open Hearts Collection. Their kiss seems about as forced as their small talk.
