Love Majewski

Love was in the air on last night's Mob Wives, and I don't mean Love Majewski!  Drita D'avanzo was thrilled to have her husband out of jail, and Karen Gravano tested the waters on a date with Storm.  The biggest announcement came in the form of Ramona Rizzo's engagement!  Big Ang was once again the voice of reason, and there was still no love lost between Renee Grazziano and Carla Facciolo!

Renee and Drita are meeting for lunch, and Renee is overjoyed to hear how happy her friend is now that Lee has been released to the halfway house.  Drita admits that she and her husband are a lot like teenagers in love.  She's willing to forgive Lee for his affair in an attempt to work on their relationship.  Has Renee had more surgery since the last episode?  Her right eyebrow is raised in a constant state of speculation.  It's a tad creepy and distractions.  Renee reveals that she shared her struggles with addiction with her father.  She still craves a cocktail and some pills, but she's coming to terms with the fact that her recovery will be a day-by-day process.

Carla stops by the Drunken Monkey to tell Big Ang about her successful meeting with Raquel and Joe.  Ang wants to have a holiday party for all the girls, and Carla is wary of the guest list, given that she's only getting along with Ang and Drita.  Carla will attend to support Ang, but it's going to be uncomfortable.  She is willing to be cordial, but she knows the other women aren't going to speak to her.  Ang is sad that her friend is on the outs with all of her other friends.  Carla can't understand why Love has such a problem with her, especially given the fact that the two have never met.  Additionally, Carla hopes that Renee will civil with her given their recent butter knife altercation.  Ang explains that Renee is a different person since going to rehab, and she's more about being happy than creating drama.  Carla hopes that Ang is right about Renee, and she hopes all of the other ladies follow suit.  Good luck with that!

I'll be honest, it's still a little weird for me to see the majority of the ladies on Mob Wives actually being nice to one another.  It's almost got me wondering when the other shoe is going to drop!  Case in point?  Drita D'avanzo and Karen Gravano not only went out for drinks, but they shared a spa day instead of a smackdown!  Big Ang is typically drama-free, but Ramona Rizzo showed her softer side, and Renee Graziano is working on a more positive life.  Carla Facciolo did get a bit confrontational with her ex while meeting his new girlfriend, and Love Majewski talked a lot about stabbing people, so I guess some old habits do die hard.  

Last night's episode begins as a shocked Drita is telling Big Ang and Carla that Lee is now out of jail.  She is giddy like a school girl talking about what she fed Lee when she first saw him.  Gag.  Drita wants advice from Carla and Ang about what she should do when Lee is finished with the halfway house.

Karen, Love, and Ramona are hitting up a charity art event, and Ramona shares with Karen that Lee is free.  Karen wishes him the best and is glad that his girls will have their father back, but as far as she's concerned, she wants nothing to do with him.  She's finally at a good place with Drita, and the women wonder if Drita will take him back after his stint in the halfway house.

Renee has returned from rehab, and she's excited to talk to Drita and learn that Lee is home.  She wants to get all of the ladies together to celebrate her new lease on life.

Last night's episode of Mob Wives was very difficult to watch.  I recapped with a lump in my throat, but it was amazing to see the people of Staten Island come together and help one another.  Instead of brawling and screaming, Karen Gravano, Ramona Rizzo, Big Ang, and Drita D'avanzo collected donations and cooked meals for shelters.  Renee Graziano completed rehab and had a break through moment with son AJ.  It was the "realest" reality I've seen from a VH1 show ever. 

The footage of the wreckage after Sandy is devastating, and the women are reacting to the carnage.  The community is pulling together to help their neighbors.  A tearful Drita is talking to her daughters while collecting items to donate.  It is heartbreaking to see actual reality happening on reality television.  Ramona and Karen are going to help their friend whose home was damaged.  Ramona realizes how fortunate she is that her house escaped any damage.

Carla goes to check on Ang who is cooking up a storm for Sandy victims.  Both Carla and Ang can't believe the destruction that Sandy brought to Staten Island.  Both of their homes are okay, but they share stories of friends and relatives who lost everything.  Ang reveals that she lost her new salon in the storm, but she doesn't care after seeing how lucky she was compared to others.  She's heading up a donation drop-off at the Drunken Monkey.  Ang explains that there are so many people willing to help that she had to find a school bus to house all of the items.

After a Super Bowl hiatus, last night's Mob Wives was one for the history books.  The only fighting that occurred happened between some drunken old men at Big Ang's bar, although Renee Graziano wasn't making and friends in her therapy sessions.  Carla Facciolo takes Joe's divorce news in a much more civil manner than one would have expected, Karen Gravano gets into the music biz, and Love Majewski has a cameo.  The biggest news?  Drita D'Avanzo and Ramona Rizzo call a truce for the sake of their daughters.  No lady brawls?  That has to be a first!

Ramona is planning a special joint birthday for two of her daughters who were born a year and four days apart.  She's meeting Ang and Karen for a shopping spree, and she's filling them in on the details of the bash.  Her only issue is that one of her girls wants to invite her nemesis Drita's daughter.  I'm glad that the girls can get along even if their mothers can't.  Ramona wants to get her friends' advice, but she plans on inviting Drita to attend the party as well.  Ang can't believe how mature Ramona is being, but Karen thinks she's just asking for trouble. 

Renee is still in rehab, and I'm curious as to why all of these people agreed to have their group sessions filmed for the sake of Renee.  She commandeers the therapy session talking about her anger issues and her inability to forgive.  When another member starts talking about how high school her mentality is, Renee starts going off on the woman for talking behind her back earlier.  At one point during her interview, she yells, "Doesn't this woman know who I am?"  Yeah.  I'd say this is going to be a really long road to self awareness.  The therapist calls Renee's behavior irrational, but a smug Renee doesn't want to hear it.

It was a big night for Drita D'avanzo as she finally took her kids to see Lee in prison.  Karen Gravano wanted to wring Dave's neck Ramona Rizzo's insistence, and Renee Graziano checked into rehab for her addiction to prescription meds.  As for Carla Facciolo and Big Ang, they were more background players…and while I love some Ang, it was nice not to see all of Carla's manufactured drama.

Last night's episode of Mob Wives started with Big Ang and Carla going to get manicures.  Ang looks like a poodle with her crimped hair.  Drita joins them and quickly questions as to whether Ang got a perm.  Thankfully, it's a wig.  Carla shares that Renee has moved in down the street from one of her best friends, and Ang reveals to the ladies that Renee is checking herself into rehab.  Ang hopes that the women will all be supportive of Renee, but Carla can't help making fun of her.  I am not enjoying this "trying to remain relevant" Carla. 

Carla's husband Joe is meeting with an attorney to get some things finalized so that he can move in with his girlfriend Raquel.  Joe tells him about his time in jail, and he explains that he and Carla can get along fine…that is, until she finds out he's meeting with this lawyer to start the divorce proceedings.  I don't see this going well for poor Joe at all!

I am really enjoying this season of Mob Wives so far.  I like the calmer Drita D'Avanzo, the empowered Renee Graziano, the softer side of Karen Gravano, and who doesn't love Big Ang?  Love Majewski has some excellent one liners, and Ramona Rizzo doesn't seem as hateful as usual.  Now, if we could just do something about Carla Facciolo. 

Last night began as Renee received a threatening letter from her ex warning her not to turn AJ against him or speak ill of him to their son.  Understandably freaked out, she goes to see Ramona at the hair salon.  Ramona can't get over the content of the letter, and is appalled that he was even able to get a stamp in jail to send it in the first place.  He even writes "this is importanat to your future."  Yeah, I'd say that is pretty threatening!

Love's mother reveals that Love was so horrible as a teenager that she called her "Satan's spawn."  Love has had a string of mobster boyfriends, and she has broken so many noses that she had to stop counting.  Karen arrives to remenisce with the mother-daughter duo, and Love reveals that she''d love to settle down and start a family, but how do you tell your husband that you've shot and stabbed your exes?  That's a tough call. 

Carla and Ang meet up, and Carla shares that Joe is moving in with his girlfriend.  Carla isn't too keen on the idea of having Raquel in such a motherly role with the twin.  Big Ang is a tad peeved that Carla ditched her Botox party.  Carla didn't want it to be uncomfortable since no one really likes her at the moment…she's got that, right, doesn't she?  Ang informs Carla that none of the women have a problem with her, and she wishes that Carla would be more supportive of Renee's efforts to get clean.  Carla believes that Renee is totally unstable thanks so all of her pill popping, and she's done with Renee.

I'm in shock and awe…in a good way.  Last night's Mob Wives was almost family oriented.  Weird, right?  Drita D'Avanzo shunned fights to hang with her girls.  Big Ang, as always, remained drama free.  Ramona Rizzo and Karen Gravano seem to be waiting in the wings this season thus far.  Love Majewski and Renee Graziano love to spark the crazy, but Carla Facciolo came out against her almost ex-husband with guns blazing. 

We began last night's episode as Karen and Ramona head to Renee's, and Karen has some major extensions.  It's the afternoon of that dreaded brunch, and Renee is filling in the ladies on Carla's behavior.  There is a lot of bleeping.  Renee thinks that Carla is addicted to sleeping with married men.  Renee reveals that neither Drita nor Big Ang came to her defense, and at one point, Carla threatened her life with a butter knife.  Ramona is curious as to whether Carla planned to Grey Poupon Renee to death.  The girl has jokes!  It's jokeable…if that's a word.  Karen shares that back in the day, they would have thrown Carla in the trunk of a car and threatened her family's life just to scare her a bit.  Glad to see they've grown and matured.

Carla and her kids are playing in their pool, and she is getting the skinny on Joe's new house from the twins.  She is shocked to learn that her husband and his girlfriend love to cook for the kids.  Her children love the new lady Raquel as she takes them to Coney Island and does nice stuff for them.  Carla is confused as to why a nice, young girl would want to get involved with an older, not yet divorced guy with kids who just got out of the slammer.  Her kids are adorable.
