Before anyone can get their panties in a Berkshires twist, we begin in NY with Bethenny Frankel and Fredrik Eklund discussing the sale of her current apartment – and prepping us, yet again, for their imminent spinoff. When Fredrik suggests that Bethenny remove the clutter from her home, she sees Skinnygirl Red, barking that she DOES NOT DO CLUTTER! And really, what is he talking about with this imaginary clutter issue? Homegirl is about as spartan as they come with her style. They can agree on a price though – as long as Fredrik agrees with Bethenny.
The ladies of Real Housewives of New York were a tad obsessed with Luann de Lesseps‘ wedding plans when they filmed this season together, for good reason, obviously. Luann is trying to let it all roll right off her back and is thankful for friends like Sonja Morgan who are showing a little support of her decision to move forward with the wedding to Tom D’Agostino, despite Tom’s cheating.
She shared in her blog this week, “Who has time for negativity when I’m planning a fabulous wedding weekend? So many details! As you can see, I was working on the wedding when I met Sonja at Il Postino for lunch. Sonja is happy for us and although she’ll be out of town for our wedding, she wishes us all the best. At least someone is happy for us!”
I don’t understand why anyone would ever defy Dorinda Medley. Whoever has the nerve to do so – God bless you. I can’t think of anyone who can handle her wrath. That’s why it kills me watching my girl Sonja Morgan this season on Real Housewives of New York. She has no idea who she’s up against.
It seems like they are cool at this point, but I doubt Dorinda enjoys watching these episodes when Sonja is shit talking her charitable efforts and her boyfriend John Mahdessian. Sonja better watch out. Dorinda will not put up with that nonsense.
The ONLY interesting part of the last Real Housewives of New York episode was a conversation that wasn’t even filmed between Carole Radziwill and Barbara Kavovit. The conversation was recorded because Carole still had her microphone on, but we never actually “saw” the two of them talking. Not only did Barbara question the then-impending union between Luann de Lesseps and Tom D’Agostino, but it was even more captivating because she fought her hardest to stop the episode from airing.
This woman actually took legal action to prevent the episode from being shown and of course that really just built up the intrigue more than anything. She wasn’t saying anything that the other cast members and even the fans haven’t expressed before, but the hushed tones and the super public legal squabble were the only entertaining aspects of such a forgettable episode.
I’m all for using reality TV to do something significant and spread awareness for causes that matter. With that said, I also have to admit that the last Real Housewives of New York episode was rather forgettable. As far as the story lines go, pretty much nothing happened. Again, I want to emphasize that I think it’s great that the whole cast was genuinely charitable, but the episode itself was just a little blah. Nevertheless, Bethenny Frankel had some interesting things to say about Ramona Singer after the episode aired.
Of course I’m happy that there wasn’t actually a scandal disrupting a charity event, but maybe there could have been a hook up or some humorous quotes to get me through the episode? Is that asking for too much? Apparently so.
It’s hard for me to remember Real Housewives of New York before Dorinda Medley joined the cast and I never want to go back to that era. She manages to keep it real, deliver hilarious one-liners, and check anyone who goes against her – all while managing to be extremely lovable.
Dorinda is someone who has an opinion on everything and everyone and this even includes reality stars who are on other Bravo shows. I have no idea how Dorinda wasn’t a Real Housewife sooner, but I (naively) hope she stays on this show forever, especially since she and Sonja Morgan seem to be cool again.
Dorinda is throwing a charity event for Beauty for Freedom, so she enlists Bethenny’s help – or at least, her commentary – in the effort. They meet out shopping, where Bethenny is more concerned with the “gigantic apartment” in SoHo she’s just purchased, which is 2,000 square feet larger than her current pad. She’s good at flipping properties, she says. And she’d like you to watch her real estate spinoff, please. She’s not good at forgiving Ramona, however, and has no plans of doing so. Though she does vow to be cordial when they’re forced together at social functions.
How could a person be “surprised” that a conversation she had with a Real Housewives cast member while the show was filming would actually get aired in an episode? In all honesty, that’s just ridiculous, but a woman named Barbara Kavovit is claiming just that. She even tried to have a judge block a Real Housewives of New York episode from airing the “private” conversation. (Tonight’s episode)
Sorry, girl. There’s no such thing as privacy when it comes to reality television. Plus this attempt to prevent the episode from airing has just increased the hype around it. In short, this woman is way out of bounds and her plan completely backfired.
