EXCLUSIVE! Melissa Gorga Talks Family Drama, Her Music, Stripper Rumors, And How Reality Television Has Affected Her Life!

Earlier this week I spoke with Melissa Gorga. I had no expectations going into the conversation and I was very excited to get her perspective on the drama that has encapsulated her life since joining the Real Housewives of New Jersey.

First of all, I have to admit – it's very strange to speak to someone that you see on television. We as viewers are so close to these reality stars lives, yet so far away. We are offered a very limited glimpse of the truth and yet it feels far more personal than that. RHONJ has captivated fans more than any other Housewives series because, not only are the women ~~former~~ close friends, they are family and their drama is palpable and relatable.

Melissa understands this and was candid about discussing it. Watching the show last season I had so many questions to ask the women directly and it was amazing to get the opportunity to do so in person.

Melissa was open, honest, and heart-felt in her answers and was very forthcoming about her family drama, her feelings on reality television, and the opportunities it has presented for her and her family. She strikes me as a down-to-earth person who has a supportive marriage and a positive outlook on life. I asked Melissa questions I wanted answers to and she answered each one willingly.

It was more like a conversation than an interview. Sadly, she didn't say "Thank you, Jesus!" once. I was hoping for it! An excerpt from our conversation is below:

RT: What was your first season of being on a reality TV show like?

MG: "It was crazy, I guess. I wasn't used to it, but now it's kinda – I'm easy with it. When it was airing last season I was a little uncomfortable. I was, like, what did I do? Why am I putting my life out there like this? But now, it's just a way of life. Our show, it's about family and it's real. Everybody goes through it with family. Everybody has in-law issues, and sister-in-law issues, so we just kinda put it out there."

"I've been very lucky," Melissa adds. "Things have been good."

RHONJ’s Melissa Gorga: Teresa Giudice Made Herself A Target; Says Show Brought Them Together

Real Housewives of New Jersey star Melissa Gorga is once again speaking out about the reunion ~~bitchfest~~ showdown!

If you recall, Bravo host Andy Cohen was criticized by some fans of Teresa Giudice as they felt he was simply too hard on her.

Today, Melissa is now speaking out because she disagrees with the criticism. According to Melissa, her sister-in-law Tre made herself a target.

“I don’t think he was too hard on her at all,” Melissa tells Star. “It’s Andy’s job to ask the questions, and Teresa has put herself at the center of all the issues and controversy. Otherwise, we’d be sitting around smiling at each other and not saying a word, which I highly doubt is what the viewers would have in mind.”

Melissa continues, “There were so many hurt feelings on the reunion show because of something dramatic that happened the night before. I can’t tell you what it was — but it’ll be on season four.”

The incident she’s referring to is the Porsche Fashion show drama during which sources have told us Teresa tried to expose Melissa as a past stripper, though she was never even one.

Melissa, 32, who has just been named the “reality advisor and ambassador” for Voli Light Vodkas, however reveals Teresa and her are in a much better place today. Why do I feel like we’ve heard this one before???

“She and I have talked since the reunion and are on better terms now,” says Melissa. “We’ve had our ups and downs — but in the end, we’re still family.”

In a separate interview with the Boston Herald, Melissa also reveals she has no regrets about doing the RHONJ saying the show actually brought Teresa and her closer together (was she watching the same show we were watching?!)

“I have no regrets,” said Melissa. “We weren’t speaking at all before the show. The show brought us together, and we have to be in the same room and fix the problems instead of avoiding each other. It helped us to get back together.”

As for her singing, Melissa states she is simply ignoring the haters and back in the studio! “I think it was gutsy of me to sing on national TV when I’ve never been completely properly trained,” Melissa said. “I’m out there for everybody to judge.”

While the RHONJ cast just finished filming season 4 weeks ago, Melissa adds that Bravo has yet to inform them if they will be returning for season 5. A report came out last month stating Bravo planned to fire Caroline Manzo and Jacqueline Laurita after season 4. Guess we will have to wait and see.
