The coupon discusses their engagement details, as well as the hardships they had to go through in their relationship. Jason famously dumped his former fiance, Melissa Rycroft, on national television to begin dating Molly.
When asked why he dumped Melissa, Jason reveals, “Melissa is a great girl, but there wasn’t any chemistry,” he admits. “So I broke up with her after Christmas, about a month after we wrapped.”
Jason admits the controversial After the Final Rosetaping wasn’t the ideal time or place to try to rekindle things with Molly and win her back. “Obviously, I didn’t want it all on TV, but I had to take the chance if it meant getting her back. I’d rather have picked up the phone, trust me!”
Jason goes on to reveal a somewhat surprising tidbit when he says Molly gave up being the next Bachelorette to be with him. He tells US that show producers — a week after his ill-fated proposal to Melissa — “kept asking me if I thought Molly would make a good Bachelorette.”
He however realized he was “not willing to let Molly go on TV and have 25 guys fight over her.” If Jason’s story is to be believed, this would mean Jillian Harris was the third choice to be the Bachelorette, as Melissa also declined an opportunity to do the show.
Jason asked Molly to marry him marry him in New Zealand on Monday night reports People magazine. This is Jason’s second engagement this year as he became notorious for dumping his then fiance, Melissa Rycroft, on national television to begin dating Molly.
The two have been maintaining a long-distance relationship as he lives in Seattle, and she lives in Milwaukee. A source close to the couple reveals Jason may have returned to the site of his ill-fated first choice so “Jason can do what he should have done in the last time he was here, and ask Molly to marry him.” New Zealand was the same location he had asked Melissa to marry him.
Melissa is also engaged to be married to her fiance, Tye Strickland. Seems to be a happy ending for all parties involved. Congrats to Jason and Molly.
UPDATE: A photo of Molly’s engagement ring is below —
Former Bachelor star Melissa Rycroft revealed to UsWeekly that she has the swine flu.
“I am indeed recovering from a bout of the H1N1 flu virus,” Melissa, 26, tells Usmagazine. “Like most people who become infected, I thought I had a mild case of the common flu, but when my symptoms exacerbated, I immediately went to the hospital where I was diagnosed with H1N1 and given the proper medications to cure the infection.”
Melissa who also appeared on last season’s Dancing With The Stars wants people to know “how easy it is to battle this flu when you take the proper steps such as seeking the care of a doctor.” She continues, “I’m a clear case that by paying diligent attention to your health, it’s easy to overcome this illness and be healthy again.”
The new issue of UsWeekly reportsThe Bachelor star, 26, is set to wed insurance-agent beau Tye on Dec. 12.
“We aren’t doing much. I think small, we plan small,” says Melissa, who got engaged less than six months after being jilted in January by then fiance & Bachelor star, Jason Mesnick. “But whether it’s going to turn out the way we have it in our minds, I don’t know!”
UsWeekly is also reporting that Melissa has invited her former Bachelor costars, Jillian Harris and Naomi Crespo. Her former Dancing With the Stars partner Tony Dovolani, also scored an invite.
“She is doing really well,” Melissa toldUsmagazine Wednesday at a charity event in L.A. “Her and Ed are happy, and I know she is going to become a U.S. citizen. She’s moving to Chicago.”
“You know, granted it’s not my business to comment, but Jillian’s real life is fantastic,” continued Melissa. When asked if she believes Jillian and Ed will still wed, Melissa says, “I absolutely do…I know they love each other, and I know they are planning a wedding, and I know she wants to marry him. I hope it works out for them.”
In the meantime, Melissa continues to plan her wedding to fiance, Tye Strickland.
Everything seems to be finally falling into place for Bachelor alum, Melissa Rycroft. Melissa’s life has made a complete 360 since being dumped publicly by her then fiance, Jason Mesnick, just months ago.
“Tye is my true love,” Melissa, 26, tells PEOPLE in its new issue. These days, Melissa harbors no hard feelings towards her ex, Jason, because the situation brought her to where she is today. “No disrespect [to Jason] at all, but that situation doesn’t compare to where I am now – engaged and happy. It’s a different feeling,” she says.
Tye, 28, also speaks out for the first time about their relationship, “The last six months have not been normal…But we wouldn’t change it because what we had to go through has allowed us to be where we are today. It’s been a blessing in disguise, and I don’t think either of us has ill feelings towards anyone.”
The happy couple will be appearing tomorrow, July 28th, on The Bachelorette: After The Final Rose. I’m certain Melissa has her reservations appearing on this show considering what happened the last time she was on it.
During this past Monday’s Bachelorette show – The Men Tell All episode, both Jason Mesnick and Molly Melaney declared their love for one another on national television. Even though it’s only been about six months, Mesnick said, “I’m really in love with Molly. She’s completely different from anybody else I’ve ever dated.”
Molly also added, “I would marry Jason tomorrow. I’m so crazy about him. I know I want to spend the rest of my life with him.”
Even though Jason and Molly both reside in different states, Jason is certain that wedding bells are in their future. The duo manage to see each other at least every other weekend. According to Jason, the plan is for Molly to relocate from Milwaukee to Seattle eventually.
Chris Harrison, host oflast spring’s Bachelor finale where Mesnick dumped ex Melissa Rycroft, mentioned that it was “the most controversial moment in this show’s history.” “Was all that heartache worthwhile”, he then asked.
“What we have gone through … just absolutely ripped to shreds…” replied Molly “It was definitely tough on me.” Mesnick added that “it was a bigger backlash than I thought.” But he said he would endure even more scrutiny if that was what it took to be with Molly.
On the other hand, Melissa Rycroft recently confirmed her engagement to beau Tye Strickland with wedding preparations underway.
Recently engaged Melissa Rycroft says wedding plans are coming along well with the help of her fiancé Tye Strickland.
“Tye is planning more than I am,” the former Bachelor and Dancing with the Starscontestant confessed to PEOPLE Monday night at the Verizon Wireless Matt Leinart Foundation Celebrity Bowl in Hollywood. “At this point, I’m probably the worst bride in the history of brides.”
Melissa and Tye dated on and off for about 2 years before he proposed on June 26. With wedding plans underway, Melissa says she would rather be a bad bride than turn into a bridezilla. “I’m the exact opposite [of a bridezilla],” says Rycroft, 26. “I don’t know if we’ll get married ever by the way that I plan it!”
For Melissa, an important part of the ceremony is getting fit to show off the wedding dress. “I’ve heard the stress alone of planning a wedding helps you get into shape for it, so we’ll see if I need to stress myself out a little bit to lose that extra pound!”
Not sure what Melissa is talking about because she definately looks fit to me.
