MTV The Challenge Rivals Cast

Get ready for more Reality TV dramz with MTV’s The Challenge: Rivals starring former MTV Real World & Road Rules castmembers.

With over $300,000 on the line there is bound to be conflict galore as the teams fight tooth and nail for prize money and glory. MTV takes 14 teams of men and women to the jungles of Costa Rica for a series of intense challenges requiring endurance, stamina, bravery, and cunning!

Expect lots of fighting, lots of backstabbing and tantrums, relationships forming and falling apart, and old rivalries reigniting! In fact, the drama is over the top right out of the gate as the first episode features contestants flying over a waterfall! Yikes. The series also features two castmembers from the very recent Real World Las Vegas, Adam Royer and Leroy ‘Roylee’ Garrett. Oddly enough, Adam is the only cast member not pictured above. Perhaps he got kicked off early for another drunken tantrum.

One thing is for sure if these enemies don’t put down the haterade, learn to put the past behind them, and work together – they definitely won’t be bringing home the dough! For a trailer of the upcoming series, see below! The Challenge: Rivals premieres tonight on MTV at 10pm ET/PT. The season trailer and photos of the 14 teams below!

Jersey Shore Italy

What’s that sound you’re hearing? Oh it’s just the sound of Jersey Shore fans banging their heads against a wall as they discover on-again-off-again poster couple Ronnie Magro and Sammi Giancola are once again back together!

The two dingbats MTV reality stars were photographed twice holding hands in the past couple of days. First over the weekend as they walked the streets of Florence, Italy, where the fourth season of the Jersey Shore is currently being filmed.

They were then pictured above once again last night as they headed to a romantic dinner. And just how long did it take for these two crazy kids to get back together? Just a mere 1 week and a half as filming in Italy began less than 2 weeks ago.

And guess what folks? They are already fighting again! Hours after the picture above was taken, the two headed to a nightclub with their castmates and according to the paps who snapped them, they left separately after getting into an argument inside the club. Seems like the upcoming season of the Shore will be bringing us some of the same ol. Sigh.

Below is another picture of Ronnie and Sammi from last night.

In today’s somewhat surprising news, 16 and Pregnant star Jordan Ward is pregnant again with her second baby.

The Frankly My Dear blog broke the news yesterday stating that Jordan, 18, and Brian Finder found out 10 weeks ago that they were expecting again — a baby girl due in November. The blog reports the news was a shock to the newlywed couple, as they were still adjusting to teen parenthood. Their son Noah turns 1 in July.

According to the blog, Jordan wants people to know she was not trying to conceive but it happened and now they are making plans for the new addition to the family. Jordan also admits she was not on birth control, adding that she’s aware that would have been the responsible thing to do.

After learning they were expecting a second baby, Brian decided to join the Air Force. He is said to have completed all his testing and will begin Basic Training in July. The air force will offer base housing and full medical insurance for everyone in their family. Jordan is said to be worried about the difficulty of not having Brian around but feels this is best for their family.

Jordan has yet to officially confirm the news on her facebook fanpage, but her twin sister Jessica Ward did post a confirmation on her facebook page yesterday. “okay… so its out, and im super excited!:],” wrote Jessica later adding, “im so happy for them! i know its a shocker to hear me say this, but im so glad jordan found a guy like brian, he is a wonderful father and husband!!!”

Jordan reportedly kept the news quiet because she knew how disappointed people would be. While this news is a bit surprising as well as the admission she was not on birth control, guess one can say that in her defense, she is a married woman? Jordan and Brian tied the knot in January of this year. Two photos below from their wedding day.

TELL US – THOUGHTS ON THIS NEWS? ARE YOU SURPRISED?

Those wild and crazy kids of the Jersey Shore are already stirring up some controversy in Italy though they have yet to arrive for the filming of their 4th season.

See while MTV confirmed earlier this year that season four of the super mega hit show will be filmed in Italy, the show had yet to actually air in the country. That all changed this week when the show made its debut on Italian television, and let’s just say the Italians are no fans. In fact, the cast is now on the receiving end of some major backlash.

“They embody the worst stereotypes of Italians, multiplied by thousands and Americanized,” wrote columnist Roberto Del Bove in Rome newspaper New Notzie.

It only gets worse as a preview of the show posted on an MTV Italia website drew some nastier comments.”When I see this, I wonder whether [Osama] Bin Laden had a point,” lamented one poster, going a bit overboard perhaps.

“Slicked hair, exaggerated narcissism, boundless love for the family and outlandish eccentricity” is what was written about the show in another popular Rome newspaper, Corriere della Sera.

The Italians might be happy to know that only part of the fourth season will be filmed in Italy. This isn’t the first time the Jersey Shore clan has been criticized for their shenanigans as the show also drew major ire from Italian-American groups during their first season, leading to some boycotts by advertisers.

Love them or hate them, the show is definitely here to stay as the season 3 finale last week drew record ratings for MTV, with over 7.6 million viewers tuning in.

Speaking of season 4, RadarOnline is now reporting that there is a contract dispute brewing with some of the cast members. Apparently, cast members “Snooki, The Situation, JWoww and Pauly D have not finalized their contracts because they can’t agree on the amount.”

“As of last week Deena hadn’t signed her contract either but Ronnie, Sammi, and Vinny were done,” reveals a source, um does Deena not realize she’s very expendable?. “Time is short, everyone is getting concerned because they’re supposed to leave for Italy soon, I just hope they can settle it,” the source adds.

The cast also went through contract disputes last year as they went on a short strike before season three; eventually negotiating a 200% raise from $10,000 to $30,000 per episode.

And finally, the reunion show airs tonight on MTV at 10/9c. We will revisit the top moments of the show with the cast and also find out why Sammi and Ronnie broke up again for the 2000th time back in January.

TELL US – THE ITALIANS, THEY HAVE A POINT NO? PLUS THOUGHTS ON THE REUNION SHOW?

According to a new report by the HollywoodLife, MTV’s Teen Mom 2 stars are earning way less than their counterpart Amber Portwood.

Months ago, following her arrest, Amber was forced to reveal her income to the courts during which she stated MTV paid her a whopping $140,000 for a six-month contract.

And now the HollywoodLife was able to confirm that Teen Mom 2 stars Jenelle Evans and Kailyn Lowry make dramatically less than Amber, as in only $9,000 for the season.

“Things with Jenelle aren’t good. She has no money and can’t find a job,” a source very close to Jenelle reveals. “She is making around $9,000 for her first 12 episodes of Teen Mom 2, season 1.”  A source close to Kailyn also shares the same sentiment: “Kailyn is also making around the same $9,000 mark!”

While the Teen Mom 2 salaries are very low for their first season, an increase will likely come during a second season. Especially when the very high show ratings are taken into consideration by the MTV network.  The show averages over 3.5 million viewers a week.

As for how the ‘Teen Moms’ are getting by, they are able to supplement their MTV income by selling their stories and pictures to the tabloids, plus working other jobs and writing books.  Kailyn is said to be considering releasing a manual for other teen moms.

Plus another report states Leah Messer, 18, only works one six-hour shift a week at a dental office in her hometown of Elkview, West Va.  As for the Life & Style cover claiming Leah has a baby boy on the way, it is mostly false as Leah is not pregnant. She did however reveal in a recent interview that she and hubby Corey Simms, 20, would like to have a baby boy years down the line.

Meanwhile, with criminal charges and upcoming court appearances in tow, Jenelle displayed no worries this week when showed off her bikini body during a beach stroll in North Carolina.  Those photos are below courtesy of the DailyMail.

TELL US – THOUGHTS ON JENELLE’S BIKINI PHOTOS & TEEN MOM 2 STARS MAKING WAY LESS THAN AMBER? DO THEY DESERVE TO EARN MORE?

Real World Las Vegas

Once upon a time, before the Jersey Shore became a huge phenom, there was a little show called The Real World.

Yes, the Real World returns tonight on the MTV network for it’s 25th season! And what better way to highlight season 25 than to have the cast return to Las Vegas. Remember the first season 12 Vegas cast with Steven, Trishelle, Alton, Irulan, and others?

Well, the new Vegas cast has some pretty big shoes to fill though it seems that shouldn’t be a problem as this season includes a well-stocked liquor cabinet and a male gay porn star among the cast. But get this, as it seems the cast member Dustin Zito, is apparently “straight” and simply “gay for pay.” Part of the press release is below -

“As the season progresses, the roommates get to know each other, divulge secrets about themselves, and experience the ups and downs of life while living at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Everything in Vegas this time around is on a grander scale, and that will come across loud and clear this season,” said MTV in a press release. “Romance amongst the cast members is at an all time high, as secrets are revealed and relationships are challenged. While some relationships will fail, others will emerge stronger and deeper.”

The new season of the Real World premieres tonight on MTV at 10/9c. A trailer is below plus the cast photos and bios.

No, hell has not frozen over, and yes, that is Snooki aka Nicole Polizzi gracing the latest cover of Rolling Stone magazine solo.

“Snooki’s Wild Ride – America’s #1 Party Girl” reads the cover of Rolling Stone under a photo of the Jersey Shore star on a rocket, and no, the rocket doesn’t take her out of space or to an alternate planet to never be heard from again.

The mag showcases the 23-year-old New York native’s fame ride from being a former veterinary assistant into a reality TV superstar with a best-selling book, a $20,000 personal appearance fee, a line of jewelry and a spin-off TV show in the works. And while the fourth season of the mega hit show is scheduled to film in Italy during Spring, Snooki reveals she is well aware her MTV days are numbered, and has devised a plan to extend her 15 minutes of fame.

Snooki On Plans After Jersey Shore – “When Jersey Shore ends I’m going to do more spinoffs,” Snooki tells the mag. “If MTV doesn’t want them, another network will be, like, ‘What does Snooki do now?’ or ‘Snooki’s getting married!’ What I’d like is to turn out like Jessica Simpson, with her whole brand. She makes millions. I’m trying to build an empire, because after this I can’t get a normal job. I mean, how do I go and sit behind a desk?”

Snooki On Being Tired of How She’s Perceived – “If I do something stupid, which is pretty much the whole time, I hate it. Obviously, they’re only going to put the good stuff in, and the good stuff is us drunk, so all I’m seeing is me drunk and falling down,” she explains. “That’s how I am when I party. But some of the stuff I do is, like, ‘Really, Nicole?’ I look like a freakin’ alcoholic. I’m like, ‘You’re sweating, your makeup is running, you look gross.’ I just look like sh*t.”

Snooki On Jersey Shore Being Like A Prison – “It messes with your head. That’s why we go crazy. That’s why we fight with each other. That’s why we drink,” Snooki tells Rolling Stone. “We’re living in a house for two months with that sh*t. We can’t have cellphones, TV, radio or the Internet. If the president died, we’d have no idea. There’s no normalcy. It’s just like prison, with cameras.”

Below are some more images from Snooki’s Rolling Stone article, including a childhood photo and photos of Snooki as a cheerleader in High School.

Moving on to tonight’s all new episode of the Jersey Shore. On the 10th episode this season, Sammi’s return to the house leaves Ronnie at a loss for words. Meanwhile, Snooki’s feelings for Vinny grow, and Mike hooks up with a girl who seems to have a strange odor.

TELL US – WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON SNOOKI’S INTERVIEW & TONIGHT’S NEW EPISODE OF THE JERSEY SHORE?

The Hills alum Kristin Cavallari finally comes clean on what we all suspected, which is that the MTV hit show was indeed very scripted.

In a bombshell interview with Fancast, Kristin, 24, not only admits that the Hills was fake, but she also sheds some light on how the producers of the show manipulated the cast and story lines. Kristin even admits that the producers’ manipulations started during her high school Laguna Beach days. She also gives her honest opinion on Lauren Conrad’s axed reality show.

Excerpts from Kristen’s interview below -

Now that it’s over, can you reveal how much of the final season of “The Hills” was scripted?
Almost all of it. I think I can say that by now. I guess no one can get mad at me anymore.

You were not always portrayed in the most positive light on “The Hills.” You were supposedly partying too hard and using drugs. Are you concerned that damaged your reputation?
They told me they weren’t going to do any of that stuff. Basically, all that was to get ratings. I was on the cover of Us Weekly saying I need to go to rehab and that my parents wanted me to go to rehab. Both of my parents were like, “Oh, really? Why don’t they call me.” It said that I wasn’t showering. It was so unbelievable. It came and went because obviously I didn’t have a problem whatsoever. But that really pissed me off because MTV did that and there was one producer in particular who was behind all that. So that was really, really hard actually. That was one of the hardest things I ever had to go through. I’m so over it by now. But everything else, I was a willing participant. I didn’t hang out with those people. I had all my friends that were never filmed. It was work three days a week. We’d go to work, do three scenes a day, change, do another scene, and then you leave and you have your other life, your private life.

What do you think about Lauren Conrad’s new reality show being shelved for being too high brow or dull for MTV?
I didn’t know that was the reason why. I think right now MTV has “Jersey Shore” and “Skins” which are very controversial. Lauren’s a very nice girl. She’s very sweet, but that’s not always entertaining.

It seems like almost everyone who was on “Laguna Beach” had the course of their life altered. You, L.C. and Lo are reality stars. Some others have unfortunately struggled with substance abuse problems. Do you think it was, on the whole, worth it for all you to grow up in front of America?
I don’t regret anything I’ve done. It’s been hard. I was fifteen years old when “Laguna Beach” came in. I think it was really unfair how they messed with our lives like that. We were so young. We didn’t know exactly what they were doing. Watching the show really broke my heart. [When] the first episode of “Laguna Beach” [aired], I locked myself in the bathroom and was crying for hours because I was so upset about how they were portraying me. But that’s why going into “The Hills,” I knew exactly what I was getting into. I wasn’t going to let them mess with me. That’s why I went into it saying, “Whatever you guys want me to do, I’ll do. Don’t mess with me. I’ll be a participant.” They’re very shady with you. And that’s what they did when we were doing “Laguna Beach” and we were so young to be doing that. So it’s just how my life has gone. It’s the path that I’ve chosen. It’s all been worth it.

Can you give me an example of the producers being shady?
The first season of “The Hills” they had Justin and I dating on the show. Justin wouldn’t want to come film sometimes because he didn’t think that I really liked him. So the producers would have me text him, “No Justin, I really want you to come.” But I was game for it. Stephen [Coletti] was my boyfriend on “Laguna Beach.” They would be, like [to him], “We just want to get you coming up to Lauren’s house, but we’re not going to make it seem like you guys are dating.” They’d have him bring her flowers. All that stuff.

And today, Kristin is currently guest starring on ABC’s hit comedy “The Middle” (Wednesday, 8/7c) and also venturing into producing reality shows.

TELL US – THOUGHTS ON KRISTIN’S INTERVIEW? SHOULD THE PRODUCERS BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR SCRIPTING/FAKING REALITY SHOWS & LYING TO THE PUBLIC?
