If there's one thing we've learned in our time as reality TV fans, it's that there's always more to the story when it comes to Real Housewives drama. Always. This situation with Kenya Moore's charity event gets shadier by the day! Yesterday Kenya, Nene Leakes and the chairman of Saving Our Daughters all shared their side of the story on Kenya's event, where the money went, who was invited, and on and on.
Today we're taking a peek at the nonprofit itself. Before anyone attempts to claim their donation to Saving Our Daughters on their tax forms this year, they might want to ask their tax advisor to make sure it's deductible! According to the IRS, Saving our daughters is NOT a 501(c)3 organization, even though they claim this on their website. The nonprofit had their status revoked in May of last year, for failing to file a form 990 for three consecutive years.
The fallout from Kenya Moore's charity event is getting messier by the minute!
Earlier today Saving Our Daughters released a statement, sharing that they had not received any donations from Kenya's fundraiser masquerade ball – aside from a $500 one for their annual doll drive. Kenya is firing back tonight with proof ..sort of?
Kenya turned to lovebscott.com to share texts between her and the head of Saving Our Daughters and also to show off some receipt proof of how much she donated and how much spent on the event. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star coughed up a canceled check for $500 – possibly the check for the toy drive and a few other receipts for some of the costs of the party. She claims she spent $10,000 on the event when all was said and done.
Update: Saving Our Daughters has removed the statement from their website.
We're sad to hear that Kenya Moore did not donate the money raised at her charity event in NeNe Leakes' honor! This was confirmed this afternoon by Saving Our Daughters.
The organization released a statement this afternoon. First, they confirm that NeNe is indeed a strong supporter of their charity. Second, they confirm that they have NOT receive any monies raised in their name at Kenya's event that was shown on last week's episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Their statement begins: "On February 16, 2014, Saving Our Daughters was mentioned on the episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta as being honored with a fundraiser on its behalf. Our charity was contacted by publicist April Love to get approval and give notice of this upcoming event. Much to our delight, we were indeed honored to be chosen. After all, one of our largest financial contributors, Mrs. NeNe Leakes who has been responsible for contributions in the thousands of dollars throughout the years, is a member of the cast."
She starts off, "I’ll start by saying I apologize for my behavior at the charity event. I definitely don’t want to teach young women that this is the proper way to respond when someone is trying to trick you into a situation and push your buttons. I would much rather teach young women to be aware of the wolves in sheep’s clothing."
NeNe reiterates that this charity event was not to honor NeNe – it was for Kenya's own thrills. "Kenya used the charity’s name for her own selfish reasons."
Certain ladies of Real Housewives of Atlanta need to read Secrets of A Southern Belle… – it should be required reading! But if everyone behaved civilly there wouldn't be any of that potent drama! Also, an evite does not an invitation make. When did the evite replace the speakerphone invite?! Technology sucks! Next we'll be tweet-viting.
Kenya Moore is throwing an "elegant Eyes Wide Shut" masquerade ball in the theme of shade. Because NeNe Leakes is furious with her for "ruining" her pillow talk nightmare, Kenya is returning the favor by setting NeNe up to ruin one of her parties. Kenya is sending out evites, she's planning the event with Marlo Hamptonand she's decided to make NeNe the secret guest of honor by having the party actually be a charity auction where the proceeds benefit NeNe's favorite charity.
But – and here's the big BUTT – Kenya isn't going to bother to call NeNe on the phone to discuss how she's the guest of honor. "I'm gonna kill her with kindness," Kenya threatens, adding that she wants to mend things with NeNe because she used to look up to her as an "older sister". NeNe and Kenya are the same age (46 and 43).
Kenya and Marlo discuss her plan at Miss Lawrence's salon (I thought he lost his license?). Marlo warns Kenya that she's looking at months of the silent treatment out of NeNe after pillow talk. Kenya rubs her hands together, cackles her evil laugh, eyes flashing and bellows 'I know how to make a bitch squeal!' Eyes wide shut indeed.
Tonight on Real Housewives of Atlanta the frienemyship between two ladies with egos bigger than Miss WHO-S-A pageant crowns explodes as Kenya Moore plans a masquerade ball and invites NeNe Leakes with the sole purpose of shading her! Oh my…
In the midst of it all NeNe's friendship with Cynthia Bailey is further tested when she erupts into an argument with the ever-meddling Peter Thomas! No, she is still not over the pillow talk implosion.
Our favorite reality TV stars cannot get enough of the spotlight during their regularly scheduled time slots, so they take to Twitter to share even more of their daily lives with us. And we love them for it! Here's a roundup of some of our favorite photos from the Twitterverse this week! Enjoy!

Is this what we're calling avant-garde these days? Lady Gaga fancies herself to be on the experimental edge of pop culture and pop music (and having been to one of her concerts, I'd say men dressed in condoms and burning statutes crying blood aren't your typical pop fan fare), and now she's pushing the envelope even more.
That's right. Gaga is supposedly featuring the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in an upcoming video. Perhaps she's more mainstream than she'd like to admit. You know Kyle Richards' is having a field day over this! I can only imagine the title of this song!
