After an explosive Season 9, Season 10 of Real Housewives of Atlanta is a total snooze fest two episodes in. I still have hope though- that trailer for Season 10 really did look lit. Clearly, we haven’t reached any of those juicy moments since the most wild thing to happen during episode 2 was Cynthia Bailey’s(completely unnecessary) bath tub session. It was giving me flashbacks to Tamra Judge on RHOC.
Cynthia also went on a date with a much younger guy that she compared to Norbit- which was super awkward, and not in an entertaining sort of way. Other than that, we saw Kenya Moorecrying about the state of her marriage and the media speculation (already).
Even though Peter Thomasacted like a full-time cast member on Real Housewives of Atlanta, it was actually his ex wife Cynthia Bailey who was a Housewife on the show. With that said, it is not at all surprising that Peter would want to do his own spin-off show. In all honesty, I had no idea that Peter had a big enough following (or a following in general) to justify getting his own show, but obviously he would jump at the chance.
Peter never got to hold up a peach in the RHOAintro, but he might as well have. He was all about the drama on a show he wasn’t even cast for, so I’m sure he will stir things up on his own show.
The demise of Kandi Burruss and Phaedra Parks’s friendship is way more drastic than any of the romantic breakups I’ve seen in the Real Housewives franchise. These two went from being genuine besties to all out enemies with no boundaries when it comes to revealing private information or exacting revenge. So at this point, I’m not shocked that Phaedra met with Kandi’s former employee about a lawsuit against her.
Sure, Phaedra did turn over the case to another attorney, but she did film with the dude multiple times. It just seemed like filming those scenes was the reality TV version of posting a subtweet – the whole thing seemed so calculated and beyond passive aggressive. So obviously Kandi had a lot to say after watching the episode back.
A lot of people hate on Kenya Moore and I totally get it. She’s caused a lot of controversy on Real Housewives of Atlanta, but even her biggest haters have to feel some sympathy watching her tumultuous relationship with Matt Jordan play out this season. Kenya herself has admitted that she’s “ashamed” of her inability to break away from the toxic interaction.
Kenya opened up about watching that stairwell confession where Matt called her out for (allegedly) having sex with him in his truck (which she didn’t address, obviously). And on a lighter note, Kenya had nothing but praise for Cynthia Bailey and Sheree Whitfield’s kids after they walked the runway in the Cargo fashion show.
The only teeny tiny thorn in Cynthia‘s side is Sheree Whitfield channeling her inner Kris Jenner as the momager for her son Kairo Whitfield‘s modeling career. Cynthia generously gave Kairo the opportunity to walk the runway in the first fashion show for her Cargo line of bags and Sheree doesn’t seem the least bit grateful for the exposure. All the momager is focused on is asking for compensation. But then again, those baseboards at Chateau Sheree won’t pay for themselves.
It seemed like Cynthia Bailey felt left out during the last Real Housewives of Atlanta episode when the other cast members were talking about their lesbian experiences. The only weird thing about that is that she made her comments in a conversation with her teenage daughter and I felt vicariously awkward for Noelle Robinson.
It was a pretty awkward episode for Cynthia in all honesty. First she’s talking to her daughter about making out with another woman and then Kenya Moore gifted her with a vaginal rejuvenation. I don’t even know what to make of that. Is that thoughtful? Is that rude? Is that a little much to put on television? Maybe all of the above.
Call me naive, but I had no idea that Cynthia Bailey had breast implants until the last Real Housewives of Atlanta episode when she had that super weird breast exam party with the entire cast in the doctor’s office. Sure, exploiting cosmetic procedures for a social occasion is nothing new for reality TV, but this was odd. Yet, the most significant scene for Cynthia’s storyline didn’t even have her in it. Yes, I’m talking about that emotional heart to heart between Cynthia‘s daughter Noelle Robinson and soon-to-be-ex-husband Peter Thomas.
Peter has been petty and nasty in the press, so I’m truthfully kind of surprised that Noelle wants to hang with him still, but she has known him for many years, so I guess that makes sense. In her blog, Cynthia shares how she felt about these two meeting up for a hot yoga session and that serious discussion about how to continue their own relationship.
I can’t be the only once fascinated by Cynthia’s desire and ability to be friends with an ex. I’m loving Noelle Robinson‘s increased presence on the show, so I’m not ready for her to move so I can’t imagine how her own mother feels. Cynthia opened up about both of these relationships and what we saw during the show’s latest episode.
