With all the bickering withPhaedra Parks, naturally we all assumed that's who NeNe wanted exiled to the Island of Lost Housewives. But in a preview of this Sunday's hour-long WWHL special, NeNe reveals it was actually Porsha Stewart she wanted fired!
"Yes, I did feel that Porsha at that time needed to leave the show because there was something – I'm a good judge of character; I've been blessed, child, I've been given a gift – and I kept feeling like Porsha and Kordell were not being real enough," NeNe admits.
Andy kicks off the show asking Porsha how she's doing, "I'm doing alright, I'm here, I'm standing. I'm just being strong right now."
On if she saw the divorce coming, Porsha says, "I was totally blindsided. At the reunion I did feel some kind of way because I did want my husband there with me, but I was standing strong representing for my family. I was a wife, that was my title. That's what I took on and had ownership of."
Porsha then shared how she found out that Kordell filed..and it's crazy! "When I found out about the divorce, it was absolutely a surprise. I was laying in the bed and I Tweeted 'today is the first day of the rest of your life'. I put the phone down and took a little nap and I looked back at my phone and my sister was calling me over and over. She said 'have you heard' and I'm like 'hear what?'." Porsha went back on Twitter and says the first thing she saw was "Kordell is divorcing Porsha". Porsha admits she thought it was a crazy joke. Can you imagine finding that out with your husband just hanging out in the other room?
Real Housewives of Atlanta is coming to a close soon (whatever will we do with our Sunday nights?) but the drama that occurred this season is anything but quiet.
Kandi Burruss and NeNe Leakes have had an ongoing feud for seasons. And one that no one really understands. Sometimes they seem to get along fine and then all of the sudden they don't like each other? Huh? NeNe has blamed Kandi being a "hater" for the issues, but Kandi seems to hint that it's manufactured drama for the show!
"We don't really have anything to say to each other," Kandi told The Hollywood Reporter of NeNe. "We really don't talk to each other outside of things we're doing for the show. Like I don't really have a problem with her for real. And I don't think she really has a problem with me. But every time I turn around she has something smart to say to me so I just give her the same energy she gives me."
Our Lady of Polyester Hairtells In Touch Weekly that her friendship with NeNe is amazing. Their relationship is even “better off camera than it is on. We're in a really good place."
“We didn't really spend the time to communicate during the show," theReal Housewives of Atlantastar shares. “Finally we realized there is really a lot of ‘he said-she said’ stuff.” At the recent Bravo Upfronts, witnesses report that Kim was anxiously awaiting NeNe's arrival so they could hang out.
Wigs & Cigs even goes so far as to compare their friendship to a marriage! “I think the reunion was kind of a turning point,” Kim gushes “Also me leaving the show. It's like being married, right? You kind of start to take your partner for granted after twenty years. I think that was how NeNe and I kind of were.”
It's been a big few weeks for Real Housewives of Atlanta gossip…some good, some not so good. While the Bravo franchise had the worthy distinction of being the network's most watched show to date, newbie Porsha Stewart faced the news that husband Kordell was filing for divorce. In light of this terrible situation, Porsha did what any good housewife would do. She put on a brave face at the Bravo Upfronts presentation. Kudos to her for trying to maintain some normalcy…or at least what's normal in the life of a reality star!
Meanwhile, Phaedra Parks is looking forward to baby boy number two with husbandApollo Nida. Putting the much talked about Bootygate aside, the lawyer/mortician/over-the-top personality took some time to chat about her latest endeavors…mainly her expanding family. Let's hear the good stuff first!
I have to say that as I was watching a marathon Real Housewives of Atlanta on Friday, and it was odd to see the scenes of Porsha Stewart and husband Kordell seemingly happy when the news just broke that the couple was seeking a divorce. The former NFL quarterback filed papers last week claiming that the couple is now separated and their marriage is "irretrievably broken."
The pair were married in May of 2011, and rumors are now swirling that Porsha was straying too far from her role of traditional wife. When Porsha and Kordell met, she was a preacher at High Praise Christian Center Ministries in Lithonia, Georgia. On RHOA, Porsha touts herself as a trophy wife.
Kordell's court documents (filed March 22nd) cited that the marriage was "irretrievably broken." The couple does not have a prenup, despite Kordell's NFL past but he is already contesting paying alimony to the Real Housewives of Atlanta star.
The documents declare: "[She’s] an able-bodied person, earning income and is capable of supporting herself." His filing also says there are no marital assets to divide.
Kordell's attorney released a statement saying he hopes "everyone understands" it was a “very difficult decision." "Kordell’s ongoing concern has been and remains his son’s best interest.” Kordell has a son from a previous relationship.
Kordell and Porsha have been seen having issues throughout the season. Several women on the show expressed concern that Kordell is controlling. The couple does not have prenup so this should be interesting and they have been married less than five years.
