After the last Real Housewives of Atlanta season was centered around Kandi Burruss, this current one seems like a breeze for her two episodes in. That’s probably because most of Kandi’s drama is playing out on the docuseries with her girl group Xscape. The tension between Kandi and these ladies rivals the tension between Kandi and Porsha Williams on RHOA.
There seems to be a lot of love there, but there are issues over the past and the present that the ladies still don’t seem to agree on. So of course Andy Cohen was stirring up the pot when Kandi and the rest of the group stopped by the Bravo clubhouse to tape a Watch What Happens Live episode.
Meanwhile, Cynthia Bailey is stranded at the lake all by herself with no one but the leaves to talk to. If it sounds like the start of a bad – very bad – horror movie where a desperate, lonely woman turns to the wrong kind of guy, you’re right! After a relaxing bath, Cynthia finds herself on a date where she is blindfolded and wandering the dark and creepy hallways of a chicken farm while getting her photo taken by Malcolm X’s long-lost twin, Evan.
Sheree delivers some joyous news for She by Sheree fans. “I am currently working on revamping She by Shereé. The line will be more of what I call “lifestyle” apparel, with fashionable and comfortable pieces that can take you from gym to lunch or running errands with a few pieces you can carry into a night out on the town. In today’s society, women are strong and powerful but are looking for comfortable, cute, quality pieces because the women of today are also very busy! We juggle and balance so much with so little downtime.”
The first episode was a pretty easy one for Kandi. Her restaurant is doing well, she didn’t argue with anyone, and she even won the Cynthia Bailey lookalike contest. I’m sure that the lack of drama for Kandi is short-lived though. This is Real Housewives of Atlanta, after all.
It is still so hard to believe that Kenya Moore is actually married and apparently I’m not the only one who was (and is still) shocked by the news. Kenya’s girl Cynthia Bailey was caught off guard, but she did play along when Kenya asked her to refer to Kenya’s man by “Baby” instead of his actual name – which is very reminiscent to the Big Poppa era of Real Housewives of Atlanta.
As expected, NeNe Leakes wasn’t here for that nonsense. She went out of her way asking the questions the viewers want to know about Kenya’s mysterious marriage. Kenya maintained that it was a small ceremony and she didn’t even invite her own dad to walk her down the aisle, but Kandi Burruss pointed out that there was a good amount of people in the pictures. So why wasn’t Kenya’s “best friend” Cynthia included? SMH.
Like it or not, NeNe Leakes is back on Real Housewives of Atlanta and she’s doing the most to make sure everyone is well-aware she is the (self-appointed) HBIC. With that said, Porsha Williams is truly out of her league coming for NeNe. Even though everyone saw the Watch What Happens Live episode where NeNe referred to Porsha as a cast member she would eliminate from the show, NeNe is holding on to her stance that she didn’t actually say the word “fired,” so it’s fine.
Here’s the thing: Porsha needs to face some sort of repercussions for her role in Phaedra Parks’ disgusting slander campaign against Kandi Burruss, so I (and many other viewers) agree that NeNe gave a valid answer during that interview. Why isn’t NeNe just owning it though? She was standing up for Kandi after Phaedra and Porsha spread rumors that Kandi wanted to date rape Porsha. She should be owning that shit instead of backtracking based on semantics.
This is some pretty scary news: Porsha Williams has a gun and it was stolen from her SUV. This means that there is someone in Atlanta with the gun registered to Porsha and that is just not a good thing at all given all of the recent news stories.
Hopefully police are able to track down the thief and take the gun back, but that scenario seems to be very unlikely.
I hoped that NeNe would take the opportunity in the spotlight to apologize for the rape comment she made during her comedy show, but it was not mentioned at all. How suspect. Even so, she was asked a lot of other interesting questions. Yes, I know that she did a Facebook post already, but that just seemed to be more obligatory than sincere.
