It’s about that time! That is time for a new set of Bravo housewives to share their drama lives with us. The Real Housewives of New York City is set to premier it’s highly anticipated third season March 4th on Bravo.
So what can be expect this third season? Well for one, Bethenny discovers she’s pregnant and gets engaged, LuAnn goes through her divorce and tries her hand at singing, Ramona renews her wedding vows, Alex gets catty and fiesty, and the ladies actually start to like Kelly. However, the main focus this season will be Jill vs Bethenny, as it has been widely reported the former BFFs are no longer friends.
Ready or not, here they come! Some of our favorite and not so favorite Bravo Housewives are set to bring their drama onto the popular game show – “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.“
Eighteen of the Housewives are set to appear on the show February 22 – 26 as they team up with real-life housewives for a special presentation of “The Real Housewives of Millionaire.” Housewives from all four casts – New York, New Jersey, Atlanta and Orange County – will participate.
Andy Cohen, Executive Producer of the Housewives’ franchise will sit in via Skype as the expert for the “Ask The Expert” lifeline all week. Not to worry though as the Bravo housewives will not be without any help. They will actually be paired in the hot seat with the contestant housewives to help them answer the trivia questions.
The Housewives that will be teaming up with contestants include New Jersey cast members Caroline, Dina, Jaqueline and Teresa; New York cast members Kelly, LuAnn, Ramona, Alex and Jill; and Atlanta housewife, Kandi. Celebrity questions will then be presented to the contestants by Orange County Housewives Vicki, Lynne, Jeana, Gretchen and Tamra, as well as Danielle from the New Jersey cast and Lisa and Sheree from Atlanta.
Jill Zarin of the NY Housewives talked about her excitement in doing the show – “I’m really excited to be here. I bet I’m the only one who really watches the show on a regular basis. I watch it every day. I TiVo it and watch it at night. I do. And then when I got asked to be on the show, I died. It was like dying and going to heaven.”
Dina Manzo of NJ was nervous and hoped to get a lot of pop culture questions. “I’ve been too busy to get ready, that’s why I’m so afraid. I could redecorate the whole set with my eyes shut, but I’m scared to answer these questions. I just hope she has a good sense of humor, my partner,” said Dina.
TELL US – WILL YOU BE TUNING INTO THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF MILLIONAIRE?
According to the Post, the wife & hubby duo are not going to be asked back for a season four. Season Three, which is set to premier March 4, just wrapped up filming. They will be appearing on the 3rd season.
So why are Simon & Alex not being asked back? According to a source, “There are a ton of reasons they aren’t being asked back.”
The first being, “Viewers don’t have a positive reaction to them, so they’re easily replaceable at this point,” says the source. However, a Bravo rep insists that “no details have been released about next season” and Simon himself insists, “We have not had any discussions regarding a fourth season.”
“Also, they don’t really fit in with the other wives,” continues the source. “All of the other women’s story lines have interwoven, yet Alex and Simon have kept theirs separate. It isn’t nearly as interesting as the other Housewives’.”
And it doesn’t end there. According to the insider, there are even more reasons. Apparently Simon threw a “hissy fit” because he’s not being paid as much as the other cast members. “Simon wants to be an equal on the show, but that doesn’t really make any sense to Bravo,” the source says. “After all, he’s not a ‘Real Housewife,’ now is he?”
The Post also says the other ladies on the show including Bethenny Frankel, Jill Zarin, Ramona Singer, and Kelly Bensimon would like to see them go. “In the upcoming season, Alex picks a lot of fights, and it looks like it’s an attempt to keep her story line relevant,” the insider says. “But it ended up seeming inauthentic.”
So far no word yet on who will replace Alex & Simon, if they do end up leaving the show.
TELL US – DO YOU WANT TO SEE ALEX & SIMON LEAVE THE SHOW?
Rumors of an impending exit for the Brooklynites began swirling just as filming wrapped on Season Three, which begins March 4. Says an insider, “There are a ton of reasons they aren’t being asked back.”
So where do we begin?
“Viewers don’t have a positive reaction to them, so they’re easily replaceable at this point,” the source dishes, although a rep for Bravo insists that “no details have been released about next season” and van Kempen himself says, “We have not had any discussions regarding a fourth season.”
“Also, they don’t really fit in with the other wives,” continues the insider. “All of the other women’s story lines have interwoven, yet Alex and Simon have kept theirs separate. It isn’t nearly as interesting as the other Housewives’.”
Our well-placed snitch says that’s not all: Simon apparently threw a “hissy fit” when he wasn’t paid as well as the other cast members.
“Simon wants to be an equal on the show, but that doesn’t really make any sense to Bravo,” the source says. “After all, he’s not a ‘Real Housewife,’ now is he?”
Bethenny, who has received her own Bravo spinoff show titled “Bethenny’s Getting Married?” has been talking to vendors all over New York about getting them to ‘sponsor’ her wedding,” a well-placed source says of Bethenny’s upcoming nuptials to fiance Jason Hoppy.
“She wants everything and anything, and she isn’t shy about the fact that the cameras will be rolling during the event.” The source reveals that Bethenny has attempted to get everything, from her dress to the venue to a planner, for absolutely free.
It however seems Bethenny isn’t having much luck unlike the former “View” host Star Jones, who notoriously got vendors to fund her lavish wedding back in 2004. The vendors aren’t as eager to give Bethenny free items for product placement on her upcoming show as the show has yet to air. “The feedback has been that it’s just too much to ask for when there’s no payment involved – especially when one episode of a show hasn’t even aired yet,” says the insider.
The source insists Bethenny is refusing to take no for an answer and will keep trying to get free vendors. Another drama brewing is which of her housewives costars will be attending her wedding. Though Bethenny has invitedJill Zarin,LuAnn de Lesseps, Alex McCord, Ramona Singer and even Kelly Bensimon. There are rumors Jill might not attend as the two have drifted apart in the recent months.
One person who will be in attendance is Ramona as the tells the mag, “I’m definitely going to the wedding. Bethenny said, ‘I want you there,’ and I told her, ‘I support you in everything you do.”
Bethenny is however denying she was shopping around for sponsors. “If I had the time to find sponsors for my wedding I deserve 2 free weddings and a trip to Fiji” she insists.
It seems hell might have frozen over as the NYDailyNews is reporting that Jill Zarin and Kelly Bensimon have become fast BFFs.
The stars of the Real Housewives of New York City have reportedly gotten closer especially since Jill’s falling out with Bethenny Frankel over the summer. “Now that Bethenny is out of the picture, Jill is definitely on team Kelly,” one source insists.
The NYDailyNews also states that Kelly is determined to change her image, as she was not happy with her portrayal on the show’s previous season. “She was mortified when that show aired last year,” a source close to the former model dishes. “She is really trying to look better in front of the cameras this season.”
So what is Kelly doing to improve her image? Well for starters, she showed on time to the Halloween bash she hosted in N.Y.C. on Saturday night. She even gave up her VIP table to hang out in the crowd. “She was dancing and saying hi to everyone,” another partygoer said. “A lot of people were kind of shocked at how nice she was being.”
Also in attendance of her Halloween bash was Jill. It is also said that Bethenny has become close friends with Ramona Singer, and Alex McCord. This should all make for a very interesting third season.
Though she and the other NY housewives found out about Bethenny’s pregnancy through the press, she says she wishes Bethenny nothing but good wishes.
“She’ll be a good mom,” Ramona, 52, told US at the Animal Fair magazine Halloween Pet Costume party in New York City. ” I think it will teach her about being more giving, more loving, and about opening up her heart.” Leave it to Ramona to give someone a nice backhanded well wish.
Ramona believes Bethenny and her fiance, Jason Hoppy, who works in real estate, will make great parents and have a lasting marriage.
“[Bethenny and Jason] remind me a little bit of my husband, Mario, and I because I’m very independent, I speak my mind, I have my good sides and bad sides,” Ramona says. “My husband just loves me for me and gets amused by everything about me. I think the same thing [is true] with Jason and Bethenny. Jason’s lovely.”
Sonja is on the right in the above photo, and is described as a New York socialite who has traveled the globe. Her social circle includes European royalty and top-notch designers. In addition to modeling in Paris and Milan, Sonja worked for multiple restaurants as a consultant and manager. The single mother of one loves art, decorating, gardening, skiing and doesn’t miss an opportunity to visit France whether it’s for charity or pleasure.
Jennifer is described as a business woman who owns an event planning company called “Save the Date”. In addition, she co-owns the baby carrier company Portamee. She earned the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the year award at the age of 29. The mother of three has been married to her husband for seven years.
Veteran cast mates: Countess LuAnn de Lesseps, Bethenny Frankel, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Alex McCord, Ramona Singer and Jill Zarin will return in season three which airs in 2010.
Despite the 2 new additions, it has been confirmed that Bethenny will appear on the show for the entire 3rd season.
The shocker however is that the only housewife Bethenny is reported to be getting along with these days is her former nemesis, Kelly Bensimon. According to the report, Bethenny and Kelly made up during the summer.
Bethenny’s biggest feud is with her former BFF Jill Zarin. Her recent comments dissing Jill will certainly not help matters. The rift was more evident between the ex-besties last week during a dinner Jill hosted for 40 friends at Saks Fifth Avenue; Bethenny was the only “Housewife” who hadn’t been invited.
However, Jill isn’t the only NY housewife Bethenny is alienating herself from as she has been gradually cutting ties with Countess Luann De Lesseps, Alex McCord and Ramona Singer since news that she’d get her own show on Bravo broke during the summer.
The NYDailyNews goes on to report the the separation between Bethenny and her co-stars might be an intentional move by Bravo producers, who want her to stand alone in an attempt to pave the way for her own reality show.
I highly doubt this rift between Bethenny and the other housewives is intentional though. Perhaps they just got tired of Bethenny running her mouth and talking negatively about them behind their backs.
