Slay, slay, slay, Kyle Richards!! The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stepped out last night (with daughter Portia) for the premiere of “Alice Through the Looking Glass” and had a major red carpet win in this black jumpsuit!
I’m not trying to be shady, but I am pretty surprised by how good this season of Real Housewives of New York is so far. There is so much drama in every episode. It is making up for the boring seasons of the past – i.e. when there as a multi-episode arc for a beyond lame trip to Montana. And Dorinda Medley is really coming into her own as a Housewife. I love when she goes off and throws in all these gangsta hand motions. She isn’t someone that I would ever want to mess with – ever.
And this last episode of RHONY was a wild one for Dorinda who is stuck in the middle of a super annoying feud with her boyfriend John Mahdessian and her longtime friend Ramona Singer. The two of them cannot stand each other and Dorinda is put in such an awkward position because of them. And on top of that it is all very public. To make things even worse, Dorinda has to relive this nonsense again when the episodes air. Now, Dorinda is sounding off about that epic showdown between Ramona and John.
Two things I never thought I’d say: First, I am totally digging the insanity occurring on this season’s Real Housewives of New York. Second, Jules Wainstein is growing on me, and dare I say, she makes a lot of sense?!? Crazy, I know. The ladies of Manhattan have always been entertaining to me in a boring sort of way, but the drama Dorinda Medley and her oily beau John are facing with friends Bethenny Frankel and Ramona Singer is making it some must-watch television.
To me, Jules is like a younger, skinnier (who knew that was possible?) Carole Radziwill. While she may be a bit flighty and clearly lacks a tad bit of self-awareness, Jules is trying to stay above the fray while voicing her opinions. After this week’s episode, Jules is dishing on that terribly awkward dry cleaning soiree, the painfully uncomfortable nanny interview, and Sonja Morgan’s tipsy attempts to pay the bills which caused Bethenny to unleash a ruthless smack down.
Sonja starts off defending that her birthday party was not a product launch. “I did not have press at my birthday party. It wasn’t a business event. It wasn’t a charity or a typical Sonja In the City event with wall-to-wall professional cameras. I sent out no press invites. It was not a launch. It was just personal friends coming together to celebrate with Marco Maranghello and me. Thanks Ramona for not letting Bethenny know that.”
Oh Ramona – there really is no defending your actions. Not the way you behaved at Dorinda and John’s party – the one you weren’t invited to, but certainly made sure to get thrown out of. Nor the way you savaged your supposed friend SonjaMorgan. Nor the vulgar comments you made about Luann in order to make her look bad, and the desperate way you glommed onto creepster Rey in the hopes of unearthing more salacious gossip. Dorinda said Ramona needs a hobby and a life. So Ramona got active – on Twitter.
Is it me or are things on Real Housewives Of New York just straight up mean this season?! If it isn’t raining men in NYC, it’s raining bitches – and everyone is getting drenched!
At least things start out positively. Moving into the fifth floor of Manor Morgan is Luann de Lesseps. The heater may not work but at least there’s a hot plate.
While Luann lounges on a bed still bearing the trappings of 1992 bourgeois stylings, she wonders if her hostess with the mostess loose ends, Sonja Morgan, has told Bethenny Frankel about the Tipsy Girl unveiling. Sonja shrugs off the potential snafu. She ain’t scairt of Bethenny. The well of booze has a deep trough, and Tipsy Girl is but a little drop, all of it likely going down Sonja’s gullet. After all, there was once a Skinny Bitch, then along came a Skinnygirl, and that little low-fat piggy went on reality TV and squealed all the way to the bank.
To be honest, I really thought that Ramonjawas the only Real Housewives duo that we could count on to last forever. Based on the most recent episodes of Real Housewives of New York, this could not be further from the truth. Sonja Morgan and Ramona Singer are no longer best friends. It is blatantly obvious and pretty sad. These two used to bring some lighthearted laughs to the show. Now we are stuck watching them argue about who has the best imaginary business empire.
Ramona has been coming for Sonja and usually Sonja just lets the insults roll off her back. I don’t know if that’s because she is just a positive person who’s not into the controversy or if she just didn’t notice that her supposed best friend was coming for her with veiled concerns. Sonja has finally read the writing on the wall and she is calling out Ramona for being a hypocrite and a shitty friend. Well, not in those words, but she did have a lot to say about her.
There is no way that I am the only one who finds it incredibly hypocritical that Ramona Singerof all people has decided to call someone out for partying and embarrassing behavior. I’m not denying that Sonja Morgan likes to party, but I don’t feel like it’s cool for Ramona to talk down to her while filming a Real Housewives of New York episode.
Sonja and Ramona have been partners in crime when it comes to partying on the show, so it is just super weird for Ramona to be such a hater. Plus, if Ramona really did have serious concerns, wouldn’t it be better to talk to a good friend away from the camera crew? Maybe that’s naive of me, but I just don’t see how publicly putting a friend on blast could ever help her out. Well, it looks like Ramona is not done talking about Sonja’s drinking.
