If I were Luann de Lesseps, I would be a (little bit) pumped that Sonja Morgan is feuding with Dorinda Medley and Ramona Singer is getting on Bethenny Frankel’s nerves. I’m not the kind of person who wants to see friends fighting, but all of this other drama is the perfect way to distract everyone from talking about Luann and Tom D’Agostino. So, for that reason, I would be loving this calamity if I were Luann. Or at the very least, she is happy for a reprieve.
Plus, Luann ends up looking calm, cool, and collected in contrast with all of the screaming the other ladies have been doing. And in all honesty, I am so happy that there is discussion about something that has nothing to do with Tom. I am so done with everyone trashing Tom. I get why they hate on him, but it’s played out at this point unless he gets into more trouble and there’s something new to rip on him for.
Bethenny owned up to her topless scene in a movie and didn’t seem bothered by that being a public topic of conversation. However, she seemed infuriated by Ramona bringing Bryn into the discussion. It makes me wonder if Ramona only did this because Bethenny didn’t immediately say “you’re both beautiful” in response to a photo of Ramona and Avery Singer. That definitely seemed to upset her, even more than the hurt she felt when Bethenny neglected to send her a newsletter and slide show about getting two dogs.
Was Ramona Singer actually concerned Bethenny Frankel’s daughter would find out about her “soft porn” past from her fellow six year olds? Or was she just stirring the pot and securing some Real Housewives of New York screen time? Or maybe she wasn’t thinking at all and just blurted out whatever popped into her thoughts.
Either way, Bethenny was not having it and she excused herself from the rest of the Hamptons trip. Does Ramona feel bad for bringing this up? Probably not. Still, it is possible. I mean, she is known as The Apologizer.
We open with the ladies settling in to their respective Hamptons homes – Carole Radziwill is bunking at Bethenny Frankel’s Skinnygirl pad, Dorinda is staying at Luann De Lesseps’ house, Ramona is chillin’ at her abode because no one can abide her, and Sonja has somehow convinced unnamed “friends” to lend their house to Tinsley and her for the weekend (which they’ll arrive at the following day). Bethenny is hoping Carole can cool her jets on the election talk, while Luann is showing Dorinda how to literally cool her nether-regions on her super fancy crapper. “It’s the Cadillac of toilets!” squeals the soon to be ex-Countess.
Unfortunately for Luann de Lesseps, Season 9 of Real Housewives of New York has continued with the Tom D’Agostino bashing from last season. And I’m sure the former countess is not done publicly defending her relationship. Thankfully new housewife Tinsley Mortimer arrived during the last episode and hopefully (for Luann’s sake) she will give the fandom something else to talk about.
Sure, it is going to take a lot for anything Tinsley says or does to supersede Tom as a hot topic of conversation, but a lot of viewers are curious to learn more about her. Even though Tinsley is new to the show she’s actually known Luann and Sonja Morgan for years, so it does make sense that she is a part of the cast now.
“So we finally get to meet the new girl—oh wait, I don’t. But before I get there, let me talk about a few other things,” snarks Dorinda in her blog. “Hannah has decided to move out. It took a long time for Hannah and I to heal after Richard’s death. She decided to move back in with me, and I decided to mother her as much as I could during the aftermath of his death. It was the best decision for both of us, but now after five years she has decided it’s time to move out and get her own apartment. I am happy to say it’s in NYC and not too far away.”
The Season 9 premiere episode of Real Housewives of New York was pretty boring. Still, I feel like we are in for a good season ahead and the second episode felt like a solid move toward an entertaining direction. From the debut of new cast member Tinsley Mortimer to Ramona Singer getting overly offended by Bethenny Frankel getting new dogs, the episode had some pretty funny moments.
As her friend in my head, I wanted to warn Luann about Tom’s antics plenty of times, but she doesn’t seem to care and they’re already married- so what’s the purpose of belaboring this topic? Luann is all about this marriage and she is going to do whatever she can to sell this marriage and let us all know how happy she is.
