On Real Housewives of Atlanta this week, Phaedra Parks joined her friends and co-stars for Demetria McKinney‘s video release party. Phaedra said she needed a girls night out away from her prison bound huzzzband, Apollo Nida, and all that’s going on at home. Big. Mistake. Because where there’s a RHOA camera, there’s Apollo boohooing about how everyone has wronged him. Ugh. How soon until this con artist is off my TV?!?
Phaedra shared her thoughts on the party with Bravo in her blog.
When asked her first impressions of Demetria and Claudia Jordan, Phaedra said, “When I attended Demetria’s event, my focus was an evening of escape from my current reality. I didn’t attend with the idea of engaging in any captivating conversations. I had very limited interaction with Demetria and Claudia, so my frist impression was merely that both women were attempting to embark on new career and relationship frontiers.”
Andy surmised that it must be hard for Phaedra to watch this season of RHOA considering all she has gone through – and is still going through – with Apollo. “Definitely. Any time you are dealing with something very personal in the media and on TV it’s very difficult,” said Phaedra. “It’s quite uncomfortable.”
Last night’s episode of Real Housewives Of Atlanta was a modern day fairytale! Maidens dueled over the elusive Roger Bobb, prince of production-ville, NeNe Leakes was cursed by an evil gay and and was doomed to an episode of bad wigs, and Phaedra Parks turned to stone. Ahhh… love!
Before any of this happens we’re confronted with Mama Joyce. First thing, right out of the gate, like bad news before coffee in the morning that’s too early. Kandi Burruss‘ family is having a BBQ, she arrives with Todd, and she’s not speaking to Joyce because her boyfriend destroyed the house Kandi gave her, which Kandi, for some reason, didn’t know until after she bought MJ a new house. Things that make you go hmm…
Cynthia Bailey barely got the opportunity to raise her voice to a squeak during her altercation with NeNe Leakes, now Cynthia say she was just trying to command respect through telecommunication! Duh!
“Once I had the opportunity to speak at the dinner table, my only issue was respect, or me feeling the lack thereof. I did not feel like the respect that I had for NeNe and her husband was being reciprocated,” the Real Housewives Of Atlanta star explains.
There’s been a lot of conflicting reports about the status of Phaedra Parks and Apollo Nida‘s marriage. Phaedra has not been to visit Apollo since he was incarcerated, but apparently the two are talking and she plans to arrange a visit soon!
The Real Housewives Of Atlanta star was recently spotted out and about, still wearing her wedding ring despite purportedly filing for divorce (no papers have been filed yet), Phaedra kept it casual when asked about a Christmas visit to the penitentiary, “I would love to,” she said neutrally.
Phaedra said the same thing when asked about bringing her sons to see Apollo.
Is Porsha Williams about to join Kim Zolciak in the box seats at NFL games?! If there’s one way to get back on Real Housewives Of Atlanta in a full-time role it’s dating (and marrying) a professional athlete – but only if he’ll actually appear on the show. We don’t want no more mystery men!
Of course, Porsha has been down that road before when she was briefly Mrs. Kordell Stewart, but that didn’t go so well. Apparently once bitten doesn’t always mean twice shy where professional athletes are concerned, but it does apply to airing your relationship drama on reality TV!
NeNe Leakes wishes people would only talk about how she’s a Broadway actress (you knew that, right?), but instead everybody wants to know what’s going on with Real Housewives Of Atlanta – most specifically her ex-friendship with Cynthia Bailey, who Andy Cohen likes the best, and her relationship with Teresa Giudice.
NeNe reveals that all the animosity viewers see on RHOA is legit! “The hate is real – the hate is really real,” NeNe announces. She says during her Broadway run she does not watch the show, “I don’t want to get caught up in the negativity.” Instead she relies on social media for information.
“We have our differences but in some big instances I will be there for support. Except when it comes to supporting Detroit Public Schools. I did it out of the goodness of my heart.” NeNe reminds us that she supported Kandi‘s sex toy line, Cynthia’s Bailey Agency opening, and supporting Porsha through her divorce and issues with Kenya.
