How could a person be “surprised” that a conversation she had with a Real Housewives cast member while the show was filming would actually get aired in an episode? In all honesty, that’s just ridiculous, but a woman named Barbara Kavovit is claiming just that. She even tried to have a judge block a Real Housewives of New York episode from airing the “private” conversation. (Tonight’s episode)
Sorry, girl. There’s no such thing as privacy when it comes to reality television. Plus this attempt to prevent the episode from airing has just increased the hype around it. In short, this woman is way out of bounds and her plan completely backfired.
If you watch Real Housewives of New York – which I assume you do, since you’re reading this – you are a well-aware that Ramona Singer never holds back when it comes to sharing her opinions. She has been a cast member on the show since the very beginning and it is for good reason. Love her or hate her, she always provides solid material.
After spending Season 8 as the self-appointed peacemaker, Ramona is back in the thick of the drama this year and she’s ready to take on Bethenny Frankel – which is a tough task for any human being to take on. Ramona isn’t backing down though. And it looks like there’s another explosive season ahead.
I never expected to see Alex McCord back on Bravo, but I was so there for her resurgence on Watch What Happens Live last week. I feel like absence made the heart grow fonder because I didn’t even realize I missed her.
Now everyone wants to know what Alex thinks of her former Real Housewives of New York costars now that she’s had some time away from the crew. After all, she and Simon van Kempen are still together after many seasons of criticism from the cast and viewers while Bethenny Frankel and Ramona Singer have gone through some pretty public divorces.
Even though Ramona Singerwasn’t a guest on Watch What Happens Live last night, it sure felt like she was since pretty much every question that Carole Radziwill answered was about Ramona. Carole got one question about her couch cover, but other than that, the show was basically about Ramona.
I guess that’s what happens when Carole’s life is relatively drama free and she isn’t fighting with anyone on the show: she gets asked about the person who is annoying the cast members the most these days.
Watching that last Real Housewives of New York episode, I couldn’t help getting vicariously nervous that Ramona Singer was going to miss her own birthday party. Sure, it was a surprise party so Ramona had no idea that she was messing up the plans by double booking that night. It was just pretty obnoxious that she couldn’t spend time with Dorinda Medley without having the backup plan of going out to dinner with a random whose name she couldn’t remember.
Nevertheless, she made it to the party, seemed genuinely touched, and Dorinda was able to pull off the surprise. I have no idea how Ramona didn’t see it coming after her conversation with Carole Radziwill, but Ramona wasn’t paying attention- as per usual- which was actually a good thing this one time.
It’s so odd watching these episodes with Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan, and the rest of the cast questioning whether or not Luann and Tom will actually get married because they were filmed months ago and we all know that they did make it down the aisle. So it feels kind of pointless and I’m just hoping that this season doesn’t turn into a Season 8 Part 2. I really don’t want it to be all about Tom. That is really so last year. I feel like a brat phrasing it that way, but it’s true. In the mean time, Luann gave us some more Tom talk.
Alex McCord is a name I haven’t heard in forever, but she made a random return to Watch What Happens Live and America. Not only that, but Ramona Singer was in the club house as well. It was a combination I never expected to see, but I was here for it.
I’m not really sure why Alex did this appearance since it’s clear that she wants nothing to do with the reality TV life, but the dynamic between her and Ramona was pretty interesting to watch.
This Real Housewives of New York season has been a tough one for me to watch. All of the nastiness between my two favorites Sonja Morgan and Dorinda Medley made me uncomfortable. These are the two funniest ladies on the show. It has been killing me to see them talking shit about each other and arguing in the previews for upcoming episodes.
Thankfully there is some light at the end of the tunnel: these two are on speaking terms again and are back to getting along well. They actually did a joint interview together. Even if this season continues to be rough between them, I have some hope. Yet, at the same time, I’m hoping that some footage doesn’t air to reignite their feud. Typically, I don’t mind the Real Housewives drama, but these are two people that I want to see getting along. I need them bringing the comic relief and the meme-worthy quotes.
