It seems like only yesterday that that the newly revamped Real Housewives of New York started. And now tonight is the season finale. Reflecting back on the season, I have to admit – I've really enjoyed it. Perhaps I am cross-referencing it to Jersey, but overall I like the new ladies and well, it's been nice to see less vitriol and more class. Well, at least a little teeny, wee bit more class.
In honor of tonight's final episode here's a list of the most memorable moments from this season!
On last night’s episode of Real Housewives of New York drama over London continued. The city that likely paid Bravo to keep Pinot Singer from outside it’s fair confines for fear of what may occur has stood its ground and used Holla Thomson as the first offensive round in protecting its citizens from the wrath of pinot. That’s right, Heather proves that NOT inviting someone on a cast trip actually causes more drama than inviting them. How did she swing this one?
Things begin with a friendly lunch between Ramona, Aviva Drescher, and Carole Radziwill. Carole giggles nervously a lot as if she’s afraid to breathe wrong in the presence of the hair-trigger Ramona who is already on the wine. Was it even noon? Ramona shoves some skincare down everyone’s throats in the form of gifts.
Sonja Morgan was supposed to attend but bailed feigning illness. The girls launch right in to discussing Holla, who “talks a lot” and apparently it’s very hard to weed through a conversation with her. Carole and Aviva seem awkward discussing this given that Pinot approaches a conversation in much the same way. Who exactly were they talking about? Pinot or Holla?
Last night’s episode of Real Housewives of New York was pretty low-key and I have to say after all the recent drama with certain other Housewives shows it was refreshing to watch a show that focused on the lives of rich, fabulous women instead of fabricated drama and petty fights. Well there was one petty fight, but it paled in comparison to other recent fights on other Housewives shows. And really I never thought there would come a day when I referred to Pinot Singer as low-key, and she’s not by any normal standards, but alas the pinot hath frozen over.
Things open with Aviva Drescher and her husband Reed meeting Heather Thomson and her husband for a getting to know you dinner. Over salads, Heather shares that though her husband is the son of a famous rabbi and they practice Judaism, she is not a full convert. No, no… she’s merely Jewish by injection only. Well, since there’s no shots the doctor can give you to make you Jewish, I’m going to assume the injection comes from her husband’s kosher sausage.
Among the other shocking revelations that came over dinner was the lurid story of Sonja Morgan and LuAnn de Lesseps‘ bedroom activities and their proximity to Aviva‘s ex-husband. Boy, this man is busy on the Housewives circuit! Is he going to make his way to other franchises? Apparently Harry attended Heather‘s birthday party (does he know everyone associated with this show?) where it was disclosed (discovered?) that he slept with both Sonja AND LuAnn. When – no one seems to know – but it was presumably after the time when Aviva was married to him. A surprised Aviva handled the news with dignity, but disgust. I don’t know about you, but that would be a little too close to comfort for me!
On the season premiere, Countless told her new co-stars of Ramoana’s threat regarding her children. The maven of manners also demanded an apology for last season’s drama during a party. I find her public admonishment of ol’ Crazy Eyes a tad hypocritical, given there is, according to LuAnn, a time and a place for everything. For example, you don’t talk about losing a parent over drinks with friends. It’s poor form. However, making others uncomfortable at a party is completely acceptable behavior. In her Bravo blog, she explains it all…and with words we serfs can understand.

Well, girls and boys… it finally happened. After months of build-up, Bravo unleashed the New New York and we finally caught a glimpse of Real Housewives of New York without Jill Zaaaaaaaaarin. For those of you who never thought you’d live to see the day – rejoice – but sadly it seems Pinot Singer has hopped right on up into the bitter, negative, biddy role that Jill so recently vacated. Dangit, Pinot!
Last night we were treated to some delightful new blood, and while Sonja Morgan was in good spirits and ready to move on and make new friends but keep the old, LuAnn de Lesseps, Countess no more and Pinot were still circling each other like round the UES rosie with the same old axe to grind. Sonja said the only thing worse than stale brioche at a party is stale guests… well meet your stale guests. Are people still eating brioche?
Things open with LuAnn and newbieAviva Drescher pretending they’re long lost friends and doing lunch. Let’s just call it what it is – they’ve met each other a total of two times and Bravo is forcing them to interact as buddies to stack the odds. The only interesting thing that came out of this to-do was the revelation that Aviva’s ex-husband Harry has quite the active social life - so active that he’s dated and most likely boinked LuAnn and Sonja.
Real Housewives of New York is officially back! Well, ok – tonight it is. The ladies of the Big Apple are returning with three new Housewives who already have major drama with some of the original cast.
Speaking out about opening up her life for reality TV is Sonja Morgan, whose zany antics and truly kooky ways have earned her a lot of fans and a lot of side-eye.
Speaking to LifestyleMirror.com, Sonja reveals that way back in season one of the now iconic reality show she was approached to join the cast, but chose not too. In those days Sonja was married to John Adams Morgan and letting television cameras into her business wasn’t for her.
Aviva Drescher is coming out swinging on the upcoming season of Real Housewives of New York. The cast newbie is not mincing words or trying to play nice She succinctly calls Pinot Singer “white trash” in one clip of the series. Aviva is much more than a housewife – the former lawyer is now a philanthropist and mother of four. And she also has a prosthetic leg.
Speaking to the NY Post, Aviva describes meeting her current husband Reed and combining their families Brady Bunch style. They met in a Bed, Bath, and Beyond after painful divorces. “The kids started playing with each other, and he said, ‘It’s tough being a single dad,’ ” Aviva recalls. “Let’s say we took the ‘beyond’ to another level.” Aviva and Reed now have added two more children to their brood.
Aviva reveals that she lost her leg in a farming accident when she was a child, which has taught her to be tough and straight forward. Aviva also shares that she has two different artificial legs – one for heels and one for flats! Ok, that’s kind of awesome.
With Real Housewives of New York soon upon us, so too are the ladies and their PR machines. Apparently, this season didn’t turn out any less vitriolic than the last one despite the firing of four Housewives. And it seems all of the drama and negativity centered around one Pinot-soaked, wide-eyed specimen called Ramona Singer. Imagine that!
It seems Ramona, who began the season friends with newbie Aviva Drescher (indeed Ramona was rumored to have gotten Aviva cast on the show) didn’t end the season on the same note. The two are reportedly not speaking to each other, but they are speaking to the press about each other! Only in reality TV world do your ex-friends publicly snark you for publicity! Remember when deleting someone from Facebook was sufficient?
Anyway, in a chat with HollywoodLife, Aviva admits that this season she definitely separated her friends from her co-stars! “It’s like art imitating life and you know who your friends are, you learn who you can trust, you learn who you can’t trust,” she explained. “I really do love by coincidence to two other new women Carole [Radziwill] and Heather [Thomson]. But it wasn’t because we were new, it truly happened that way, organically.”
Ramona is also speaking about on said friendships and it’s no surprise she’s taking no responsibility for any of the issues. I’m really worried that all the Pinot has started to effect her brain.
“What’s interesting is that I embrace each and everyone equally the same way,” Ramona tells RumorFix. “But it turns out that a relationship is dramatically different with each and everyone, which reflects real life. Not everyone can be great friends with everyone no matter how you are. Certain people have conflicts with each other … it’s reflective of life.”
“It’s kind of interesting because with one housewife, for whatever reason because we didn’t quite hit it off on the right foot. And we ended up really getting really close. And the one who was embracing me and was going out of her way to become my BFF, at the end we went wrong. It was craziness.”
Ramona also reveals that despite the show being called Real Housewives of New York, the ladies do a lot of traveling out of NYC. Likely because, New York wouldn’t have them. Rumors were abound that certain cosmopolitan establishments were not welcoming to the housewives that represent their fair city’s name! So the ladies took their crazy around the globe!
“There’s a trip to London, a trip to South Beach, and trip to St. Barts,” Ramona dishes. “The St. Barts trip is off the charts! It’s off the rails! You’ll have to watch. Someone gets possessed by someone, that’s what I think.” Ok, then – so long as it’s not another menopausal pregnancy scare, I’ll watch!
Moving right along, LuAnn de Lesseps‘ boyfriend Jacques Azoulay is talking his relationship with LuAnn and what’s next for the couple. Hint, hint – it involves a wedding and possibly a reality show! When asked if the couple was talking marriage, Jacques confessed “always.”
And he’d even consider televising any upcoming nuptials, telling WetPaint, “Maybe. We’ve discussed, but I’m not definite about it. Maybe. Why not?” That’s code for ‘Bravo, please pay for our wedding and offer us a spin-off, called Money Can’t Buy You Love‘.
As for what it’s like having their relationship play out on TV, Jacques doesn’t seem to mind. “It’s fun,” he shares. LuAnn “is who she is first. The rest, it’s circumstances. But we enjoy it, we do.”
Finally, comedian Amy Phillips, recently did some impersonations of Pinot Singer and former Housewife Bethenny Frankel. And really, they are beyond hilarious! The spot-on and absolutely sensational clips are below!
