Real Housewives of New York

rhony-recap-dorinda

Dorinda Medley has kind of been a (low, raspy) breath of fresh air on the somewhat stale cougar tale of this season’s Real Housewives of New York.

In her latest Bravo blog, she comments on drama, dating, and daughters – and it’s all shockingly above board! Dorinda starts by reacting to Carole Radziwill’s news of dating Luann de Lesseps much-younger chef. Dorinda admits she was surprised by the news, but says “I didn’t know all the complexities at play, as well as her dating habits. I felt this might cause some problems with Luann, as it is a little close to home in many ways. We’ll see. I choose to stay out of people’s dating lives, as a rule, since it’s none of my business.” She adds, “At this point in our lives (for Carole and I, at least), we make our own choices and what comes of it, comes of it. As Doris Day said, ‘Que sera, sera.’”

Brandi Glanville

Brandi Glanville recently was a guest on Lynette Carolla and Stefanie Wilder-Taylor‘s podcast For Crying Out Loud where she dished on Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills and Lisa Rinna‘s secret life, Real Housewives friendships, the awkward cross-over between real life and reality TV, Bethenny Frankel‘s return to Bravo, and Brandi’s dream of being a talk show host.

Lynette was previously a guest on Brandi’s Unfiltered Podcast and they sort of pick-up where they left-off. You can read a transcript of that show here

Starting with the awkward cross-over between real life and reality TV life, Brandi admits she often winds-up in odd conversations at like children’s birthday parties where the moms want to dish on RHOBH. “I wish I were playing a character, but I get judged for the person I am, as a human being, so everywhere I go people think they know me ’cause they watch the show. That is a part of my life, but it’s a small part of my life.”

bethenny frankel to produce new show 'food porn'

Bethenny Frankel is switching gears from “professional reality star” to producer. She’s been hinting about working on a new television project for a while, and that new project is a cooking show called ‘Food Porn.’

FYI Network has greenlit the 14-episode series co-executive produced by Bethenny (who mercifully will remain behind the camera) and hosted by New York restaurateur and The Meatball Shop co-owner Michael Chernow. ‘Food Porn’ will build on the “cultural phenomena” of how social media and food have merged together to create an interactive world of cooking and eating.

For each episode Michael Chernow will travel the country to find the most “buzzed-about food” and meet with those behind the most delicious online food posts.

Andy Cohen

Andy Cohen wants us to believe the drama on Real Housewives is genuine. <fits of laughter> I know, right? It’s real, he said. It’s all about casting the right, highly emotional women, he said. And if you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you, he probably said to himself.

Andy addressed the scripted complaints that plague the franchise, actually the majority reality shows these days, in a recent interview with Attitude Magazine.

Andy insisted the real housewives drama is real, adding, “We cast very highly volatile, emotional, driven, opinionated women, and because of that, they go to town. And you sit down with them at the end of the season and they all have it out with each other. It’s really fun.”

luann de lesseps white coat

By now, viewers of Real Housewives Of New York are well-aware of a brewing feud between one-time friends Luann de Lesseps and Carole Radziwill. And you’re probably heard by now that during the episode Luann went nuclear on Carole on twitter – some even suspected her twitter had been hacked!

Of course, it makes me sad that Luann and Carole’s friendship got like all uncool, but it makes me even more curious – what happened?! Obviously the issue stemmed from Carole’s relationship with Luann’s chef Adam – but it’s not so simple as an etiquette misstep, Luann reveals that Carole’s cavorting with her chef caused some family drama! Oh bother.

In her latest blog, Sonja Morgan comments on the cougartown-on-gummybear shenanigans that took place on this week’s episode of Real Housewives of New York.

Calling out Heather Thomson for having double standards when it comes to supporting her friends’, eh, questionable choices in men, Sonja throws some shade her way: “I’m glad to see that Heather can be supportive of someone, because she hasn’t been able to support me of recent. I’m surprised, though, that Heather was able to listen to that whole speel (sic) from Carole–doing drugs, drinking tequila, throwing up in a rickshaw, and hiding a relationship from Luann-–without making a single judgmental comment! Weren’t Heather and Carole just saying last week that I drink too much and am out of control?” She adds, “But hey, maybe Heather is finally learning to accept that some people are fun! Either that or Heather has different standards for Carole than she has for me. I’m starting to think that it is the latter and that Heather is just giving me a hard time to give me a hard time! Do you think there is an underlying factor causing this? Because we have always been cool with each other, not uncool.” Hey! No stealing the countess’s Best.Line.Ever! #becoolplagiarism
