Real Housewives of New York
With Watch What Happens Live taping in Los Angeles all week, it was a guarantee that Real Housewives cast members from the past and present would show up and take a lot of photos together. The Los Angeles taping meant that Housewives and alums from Real Housewives of Orange County and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills showed up in droves.
Original Housewives Vicki Gunvalson (obviously), Jeana Keough, and Lauri Peterson showed up for a taping along with Kelly Dodd, Gretchen Rossi, Jill Zarin, Dina Manzo (who lives in California now), Eileen Davidson, and NeNe Leakes among others.
First Teresa Giudice came out of jail looking phenomenal and she just keeps getting hotter. Now Luann de Lesseps has jail time (albeit it a way shorter time period than Teresa) and a rehab stint to thank for her recent glow-up.
Luann’s decision to stay sober and focus on her wellness is a good thing for her legal troubles and her body- clearly. The former countess shared a video of Instagram showing off her bikini body- which is not something I ever expected to see from the woman that we “met” during Real Housewives of New York Season 1. Oh, how far we’ve come.
You know a Real Housewives show is good when it returns with the same cast it had last season and when it doesn’t rely on “Friends of the Housewives” or other side characters to make it interesting. The only show that statement applies to is Real Housewives of New York.
Aside from all that
boring chatter about the marathon- which is a great achievement that I could never ever pull off- Carole Radziwill blessed the fandom with some amazing shade during the last Real Housewives of New York episode.
At this point in the season, it looks like it’s Carole and Tinsley Mortimer are on one side and Luann de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan on the other. Carole didn’t use up all of her best shade during the episode. She had a lot more to say about Sonja and Lu.
During the first two episodes of Real Housewives of New York Season 10, Tinsley had been very vocal to get back together with Scott and her desire to eventually get married. In the trailer for the season, we saw Scott showing up to surprise Tinsley, and now it looks like they were able to work out their differences and rekindle the romance.
Last night’s episode of Watch What Happens Live was packed with (reality) star power. Andy Cohen had Dorinda Medley on as his featured guest and 31 other Bravolebrities rang the doorbell before making surprise appearances.
Since the episode was taped in Los Angeles, it was mostly cast members from the Bravo shows that take place in California: Vanderpump Rules, Shahs of Sunset, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and Real Housewives of Orange County, but plenty of other notable Bravo personalities showed up. It was a really fun episode to watch, but the 31 extra guests definitely took away from Dorinda’s time in the spotlight- at least in my opinion.
The Real Housewives of New York is back, and all is right in my reality TV world again. Ahh, the sweet sounds of Dorinda Medley speaking in tongues after tossing back one too many. Ramona Singer using plastic microphones to emphasize her incomprehensible points. Luann de Lesseps pounding her chest and proclaiming, “I have suffered!” in her most insufferable delusion. And Carole Radziwill learning to exercise. Well, okay – it’s not all riveting. But after a few franchise duds this year, I’ll take it! Although I wasn’t here for the premiere, I’m back in now with two feet firmly planted in the delicious mess of this particular group of women.
This week, we find out who’s working on running (Carole) and who’s just running her mouth (Sonja Morgan). After opening credits, we see Tinsley Mortimer, Ramona, and Carole meeting for lunch. Why? So Carole can tell them that Luann is culturally insensitive and that she’s nervous she is to run the NY marathon. Ramona says she’s planned a super-secret party for Carole to celebrate her accomplishments. Except maybe she hasn’t planned it until this very moment? Clearly, Ramona has had a bright idea, and she is fully committed to seeing it through. She can only manage one thought in her head at a time, after all.
