Real Housewives of New York

carole radziwill

After last night’s episode of The Real Housewives of New York, Carole Radziwill headed over to the Watch What Happens Live studio to chat with Andy, alongside Alan Thicke.  Carole addressed her relationship with Adam, and vehemently denied Luann de Lesseps claims about his relationship status with Lu’s niece.

Andy tells Carole about Luann’s Tweets, claiming that her niece and Adam were still seeing each other and were even planning a trip together. “No, let me be clear.  The truth is they broke up over a year before I met Adam and the trip that she’s referring to is a trip to Nicaragua where he runs a nonprofit, a farm.  And they were going with a whole group of people. After they broke up they remained friends and are still very friendly to this day.”

Sonja Morgan Is Nuts

The true story of Real Housewives Of New York is not what’s happening on the episode, but what’s happening on twitter while the episode is airing. Things have gone from A to F–ked with Luann de Lesseps and Carole Radziwill slamming each other something l0w-down dirty and arguing over the proclivities and scheduling conflicts of a thirty-something boy. They’re like two mommies in a custody dispute. Ladies – it’s embarrassing.

Basically Carole started dating Luann’s nieces ex-boyfriend, but didn’t tell Luann because she’s scared of what Lu will think. Even though Carole claims the niece and the fling broke up over a year ago. Interesting. Before all that cockamamie nonsense, we have to get to Sonja Morgan‘s cockamamie nonsense – and she doesn’t swallow unless its for a Black Card (or a pinot).

Dorinda Medley has kind of been a (low, raspy) breath of fresh air on the somewhat stale cougar tale of this season’s Real Housewives of New York.

In her latest Bravo blog, she comments on drama, dating, and daughters – and it’s all shockingly above board! Dorinda starts by reacting to Carole Radziwill’s news of dating Luann de Lesseps much-younger chef. Dorinda admits she was surprised by the news, but says “I didn’t know all the complexities at play, as well as her dating habits. I felt this might cause some problems with Luann, as it is a little close to home in many ways. We’ll see. I choose to stay out of people’s dating lives, as a rule, since it’s none of my business.” She adds, “At this point in our lives (for Carole and I, at least), we make our own choices and what comes of it, comes of it. As Doris Day said, ‘Que sera, sera.’”

Brandi Glanville

Brandi Glanville recently was a guest on Lynette Carolla and Stefanie Wilder-Taylor‘s podcast For Crying Out Loud where she dished on Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills and Lisa Rinna‘s secret life, Real Housewives friendships, the awkward cross-over between real life and reality TV, Bethenny Frankel‘s return to Bravo, and Brandi’s dream of being a talk show host.

Lynette was previously a guest on Brandi’s Unfiltered Podcast and they sort of pick-up where they left-off. You can read a transcript of that show here

Starting with the awkward cross-over between real life and reality TV life, Brandi admits she often winds-up in odd conversations at like children’s birthday parties where the moms want to dish on RHOBH. “I wish I were playing a character, but I get judged for the person I am, as a human being, so everywhere I go people think they know me ’cause they watch the show. That is a part of my life, but it’s a small part of my life.”

bethenny frankel to produce new show 'food porn'

Bethenny Frankel is switching gears from “professional reality star” to producer. She’s been hinting about working on a new television project for a while, and that new project is a cooking show called ‘Food Porn.’

FYI Network has greenlit the 14-episode series co-executive produced by Bethenny (who mercifully will remain behind the camera) and hosted by New York restaurateur and The Meatball Shop co-owner Michael Chernow. ‘Food Porn’ will build on the “cultural phenomena” of how social media and food have merged together to create an interactive world of cooking and eating.

For each episode Michael Chernow will travel the country to find the most “buzzed-about food” and meet with those behind the most delicious online food posts.

Real Housewives of Atlanta Reunion

It’s time to roundup this week’s reality TV viewer numbersReal Housewives of Atlanta, Shahs of Sunset, Southern Charm, and Teen Mom were the only shows on Reality Tea’s list to see an increase in viewership this week. Part one of the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion logged 3.382 million viewers, Southern Charm celebrated over one million viewers the first time this season, and Farrah‘s return to Teen Mom attracted 1.822 million viewers.

Not so lucky in the viewership department this week were Real Housewives of New York, Blood, Sweat, and Heels, Little Women: NY, and Million Dollar Listing New York. Real Housewives of New York managed 1.299 million viewers, but Blood, Sweat, and Heels, Little Women NY, and Million Dollar Listing New York all slipped under the one million mark this week.

Andy Cohen

Andy Cohen wants us to believe the drama on Real Housewives is genuine. <fits of laughter> I know, right? It’s real, he said. It’s all about casting the right, highly emotional women, he said. And if you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you, he probably said to himself.

Andy addressed the scripted complaints that plague the franchise, actually the majority reality shows these days, in a recent interview with Attitude Magazine.

Andy insisted the real housewives drama is real, adding, “We cast very highly volatile, emotional, driven, opinionated women, and because of that, they go to town. And you sit down with them at the end of the season and they all have it out with each other. It’s really fun.”
