I am so thrown off. I can’t believe that we have now reached an era in Real Housewives of New York when Ramona Singer is the peacemaker of the group. Wow, times have seriously changed. Ramona is known for being the ultimate instigator so this is a major turnaround.
I have no idea what got into Ramona’s pinot grigio, but she is definitely a new Ramona (yet again).
Bethenny Frankel and Sonja Morgan still haven’t made up after their Tipsy Girl/Skinnygirl fallout on Real Housewives of New York. Bethenny wants to be clear that her issues with Sonja are not over the use of the word “girl.” She took to her SiriusXM radio show (B Real With Bethenny) last week to expand a little on her reasons for being annoyed and irritated with anyone (mostly Sonja and Jules) who fails to “own it.”
Bethenny started out explaining how difficult it is to launch a successful alcohol business, “I have so many categories and so many businesses, I wasn’t worried that it was competing with my brand. I know how difficult it is. Skinnygirl was the first low-calorie cocktail in history, so just coming up with a wine or like Ramona has her pinot grigio and she experiences the challenges. It’s really, really hard to just come in with one sku of something and make money when it’s just another wine or something. Especially when we’ve seen Sonja with so many different kind of fake businesses.”
In the least mean way possible, I just don’t feel like Jules Wainstein is a fit for the reality TV life. It’s not that I dislike her when I watch Real Housewives of New York, but she just doesn’t really resonate with me. She does not really interact with any of the ladies on the show and whenever she does, she doesn’t say much to their face and then just complains about them in interviews or to Dorinda Medley.
Clearly, she is someone who avoids conflict, but that isn’t the best way to be if you want to be a reality star- or just a person in general. She sets no boundaries with these women, yet she complains every single time that she interacts with them. It makes no sense, but both she and Dorinda just think that she is getting bullied by the other Housewives like Carole Radziwill and Bethenny Frankel.
Earlier on WWHL, Bethenny shared that she knew Jules and Michael were divorcing before they came on the show. A radio caller asks Bethenny to expand on what she knew about Jules and Michael’s divorce before the show started airing. “I’ll only speak about my personal situation. I’m only speaking about what I know – I don’t know them very well. I know people who know them in common. Everyone says that Dorinda is the reason Jules is on the show, which doesn’t really matter to me, but I definitely was a big part of that, too, but I was more of behind-the-scenes.”
On her radio show, B Real With Bethenny, she admitted that she’s been crying a lot this week and her emotions are raw. “I’ve had an emotional week this week. I’ve been crying more than last season on Housewives, which I dubbed the crying game. I’ve been going through a gnarly, nasty divorce that has been going on for almost four years. And there are certain things that you think of or that kind of remind you of what you’ve been going through.”
Andy plays a few clips of Jules Wainstein’s bizarre calzone creation, dubbing it “The Twilight CalZone”. He says that he thinks Jules meant it jokingly. Carole says, “Yeah, I think she thought it was going to be really funny. I don’t think putting Lidocaine, Percoset and all sorts of drugs into the calzone, I don’t think she thought that would be funny.”
Lu starts off, “I’ve been spending quite a bit of time with Tom in Palm Beach, so I threw a cocktail party for the girls at Hunt & Fish Club NYC so we could catch up. Bethenny and Carole didn’t even bother to RSVP so when Ramona pulled me aside to chastise me for not reaching out more to them, I had no choice but to defend myself. I’ve apologized more than enough to Carole, and she still is holding a grudge. At this point, I feel that I’ve extended an olive branch to her multiple times and she refuses to accept it. Carole now needs to meet me halfway for us to have any chance at being friends. Ultimately, I couldn’t care less whether Carole or Bethenny want my friendship because I’ve reached my limit, and I’m done apologizing.”
I feel bad for Jules Wainstein. I feel like I like her as a person, but it just does not seem like this Real Housewives thing is right for her. Case in point: Jules being upset about Bethenny Frankel being Bethenny Frankel. I know that Bethenny is far from the nicest person in the world, but that is just how she is. If Jules really can’t take it, then she needs to move on from this show.
Jules was majorly hurt by Bethenny‘s rigid disposition, which I totally get from a real life standpoint. But as a cast member on a reality TV show, Jules really has zero clue what it is actually like to have Bethennny coming for her. And it’s is very obvious it would be something that the woman could never handle – especially since Bethenny took it upon herself to criticize Jules for crying about her in a talk with Dorinda Medley.
