Real Housewives of Orange County

Shannon's Surprise

Last night’s episode of Real Housewives Of Orange County was about starting over, with new friends, new introspection, new babies, and new directions for the marriage that cut out the cancerous tumor and got brand spankin’ new cells! David officially decided that he really, really re-loves Shannon Beador for real this time and planned a surprise re-wedding. It was all very nice and lovely.

The marital travails of Shannon and David do beg the question: Can one completely ignore the past and acquire a new beginning? Is it possible to start afresh with brand new red bottoms, unsullied from scuffing along sidewalks trailing behind your husband’s secret life? Like a facelift, can all the old sagging skin of our former misery be lifted up into a permanent smile; a renewed face to face a renewed future?

After the explosive dinner last week on The Real Housewives of Orange County, things will settle down a bit tonight. Tamra Judge promises that tonight’s episode is going to be sunshine and rainbows and birthday cake. And no c-words.

She shared the photo above of Shannon Beador and her family and claims, “Tonight There will be No fighting going on. Tonight’s #RHOC IS all about love and surprises for my friend @shannonbeador.”

Vicki Gunvalson and Jeana Keough Reconnect

As a faithful Real Housewives of Orange County viewer, I often miss the old days of the first couple of seasons.

The Real Housewives franchise wasn’t a “thing” yet, and I felt like I was getting a behind-the-scenes glimpse into a private Orange County community. Another aspect that I miss about the way RHOC used to be is original Housewife Jeana Keough. She was the original shit stirrer and I love her for it. I was such a fan of her kids and their drama. Sure, Jeana appears on the show from time to time, but that’s just not the same. Now Jeana is speaking out about her time on RHOC and why she left the show.

Kelly Dodd

Before I decided how I felt about the Real Housewives of Orange County new girl Kelly Dodd, I fell in love with her house. I mean it’s absolutely amazing. Definitely my favorite of the RHOC homes – at least until Heather Dubrow’s mega mansion surfaces on the show.

So I’m vicariously sad that she put the house up for sale. I’m also curious about why she is selling it. According to the listing, she and her husband Michael Dodd bought the house for $3.575 million two years ago and have made some nice renovations, so I’m surprised that they are selling so soon.

Vicky Gunvalson and Kelly Dodd

I have a feeling that Vicki Gunvalson is elated that Kelly Dodd has joined the Real Housewives of Orange County cast. Not only is Kelly extremely loyal to Vicki, even defending to her a fault, but Kelly is taking a lot of the heat off of Vicki.

Ever since Kelly started popping off against the rest of the cast, all of the women have been distracted from hating on Vicki. This is exactly what the OG of the OC needed. The one thing that I need is for these women to stop talking about the drama at the ’70s party between Kelly and Shannon Beador. It has been dragged out for way too many episodes at this point. Nevertheless, Vicki has finally come to a conclusion about the mess that went down.

Heather Dubrow, Paul Nassif, Terry Dubrow

I was really surprised that Heather Dubrow didn’t discuss this week’s insane episode of Real Housewives Of Orange County on her podcast. She usually reserves the first half of Heather Dubrow’s World to dishing on behind-the-scenes drama, explaining some of the situations that viewers didn’t see and giving her unfiltered opinion on the drama.

Maybe Heather was too traumatized by her “visceral reaction” to Kelly Dodds “low-base bullshit” to go down that road again. Or maybe she just wanted to give Terry Dubrow and Paul Nassif additional press for Botched By Nature. Heather went on the road with the duo last weekend to promote the show, and shared some antics about working with Paul and Terry.

Tamra Judge

Perhaps Tamra Judge needs a mentor in Alexis Bellino – as she is conflicted about how to merge Real Housewives Of Orange County bad behavior with maintaining her faith. #TheStruggleIsNotReal

Balancing ‘The Good Christian’ with ‘The Good Housewife’ has been a “huge struggle” admits Tamra. “When I deal with certain situations I look at it as, ‘What would a christian do? What would God want me to do?’ And it’s not what maybe the producers would want me to do.”

The addition of Kelly Dodd to Real Housewives of Orange County is the best thing to happen to Vicki Gunvalson. Now that Kelly is constantly stirring shit up, the women are distracted from holding a grudge against Vicki since they are so busy hating on Kelly instead. Kelly has taken it upon herself to be Vicki’s defender, and between supporting Vicki and getting into her own drama, she screams a lot.

Anyone who watched the last RHOC episode knows that Kelly made Heather Dubrow extremely uncomfortable since she tried to kick Kelly out of  a party that was supposed to be all about Meghan Edmonds. When that didn’t work, Heather kicked herself out and called her husband crying. Personally, I didn’t get why Heather was crying, but there are plenty of other viewers who took greater issue with the scene. A lot of people came at Heather for ‘pretending to cry’ and she has been adamantly defending herself.
