Rhonda Williams

 my five wives

On last night’s My Five Wives, the family travels to Seattle to visit the grandparents where we meet the best cast member of this entire series thus far: Brady’s clinically insane father.

Brady Williams gathers the family to discuss their upcoming trip to see his parents in Seattle. The wives have made a quilt for Brady’s mom, who’s been cancer free for 5 years. Brady says the family has been considering moving to Washington State since their current community has shunned them (since they left the faith). Paulie is not a fan of this idea because her grown kids have settled in their current hometown.

On last night’s My Five Wives, Rhonda pursues adoption, Robyn attempts writing a children’s book, all of the women get mammograms, and Brady Williams does absolutely nothing.

Rhonda talks to Rosemary about waiting for the results of her mammogram, which she’s nervous about. Since she quit her job, Rhonda wants to pursue adopting a child again, although she’s faced obstacles in the past trying to adopt as a polygamist. 1: I can only imagine what the adoption agency’s reaction is when Rhonda calls them up. And 2: Why? Just…WHY?

On last night’s My Five Wives, Brady Williams hopes in vain that his business will turn around, the family tries to rekindle relationships with their birth families, Rhonda’s son has a health scare which forces her to make a big decision, and the awkward double dates continue.

Rhonda gets ready for another long day at work, saying her kids miss her during her 12-hour shifts as a medical assistant, but that she loves her job. Nonie is busy taking care of her own brood and a couple of Rhonda’s kids while she also works in Brady’s office. According to Nonie, all of the wives work in and out of the home. Not sure we’ve seen concrete evidence of this yet.

On last night’s My Five Wives, Brady Williams comes up with a not-so-bright idea, becomes a grandpa, and celebrates Father’s Day with his 24 kids.

It’s another fine day at the polygamous compound, and Brady leaps out of Robyn’s bed to start the day by visiting each of his other wives for his “good morning” routine. Rosemary is feeling down and out. Nonie reminds us that she is still trying for another baby, while Paulie is empty-nesting it and keeping up with her running. All of the wives, and Brady, are feeling like they’re not getting enough time with each other. Brady says his main challenge is “being fair with his time.” I thought his biggest challenge was bankrolling the lives of 29 dependents?

Season Two of My Five Wives is upon us and in full disclosure, this is my first season of watching this show. The only reference point I have about polygamy is HBO’s fictional Big Love and of course, the national news. So, here we go! A quick recap of Season 1 shows us Brady Williams and his struggles with his five wives (in order from first wife to 5th): Paulie, Robyn, Rosemary, Nonie and Rhonda.

It’s summer time at the compound (are we aloud to call their homestead that!?). Nonie wants another baby & is emotional over it “taking so long” to conceive. I guess 24 kids are just not cutting it. Brady claims he is fertile, so no worries in that department. Rosemary is glad to have more relaxed time with the kids, while Robyn has dreams of writing a book. Rhonda is nervous about the results of her next mammogram (she had a breast cancer scare last year). Paulie says things are great & is planning her 23rd wedding anniversary with Brady. As the first “empty nester” of the group, she reflects on how much time she has on her hands now. Don’t worry, Paulie! More kids are on the way via a uterus near you.

Uh-oh - Kody Brown and his luscious locks are in for a challenge!

Hot on the heels of Sister Wives success, TLC is bringing us a new polygamist family in the My Five Wives. The "special" feature on polygamy will chronicle the unorthodox marriages of Brady Williams and his wives: Paulie, Robyn, Rosemary, Nonie, and Rhonda along with their 24 children!

The family lives in Utah and Brady (who has disappointingly normal hair) describes his lifestyle as a "progressive polygamist" left the Mormon church behind to pursue the polygamy. Unfortunately their devotion to plural marriage has left them shunned by their community and estranged by family members, but they're fine with that! I mean when you have four sister wives isn't that more than enough family?!
