Well, we all know that Real Housewives of New Jersey can be slightly, um, polarizing, right? In general, I think fans have the strongest feelings for this group of women, whether they are loyal to the core fans or staunch haters. The ladies of the Garden State can certainly bring out the emotion in their viewers!
That was made abundantly clear recently when a local restaurant allowed Bravo to film scenes for the show. The Fresco Montclair was hoping that posting photos of filming on its Facebook page would bring with it some publicity…and boy did it!
Reality TV stars and legal issues are like siamese twins! This year several stars dealt with legal problems from bankruptcies and foreclosures to lawsuits and arrests.
Without a doubt Real Housewives of New Jersey stars take the crown when it comes to most time spent in court – like a lot, a lot. But the ladies of Real Housewives of Orange County are not far behind them! Of course it wasn't just the Housewives who were getting hauled to court or busted by the IRS or mugshotted; several other shows represented well and held their own!
Below is the 2013 legal round up.
Above, Jenelle Evans confuses a jail cell with a spa and thinks it's a place you visit periodically to get away from it all! The Teen Mom 2 star, whose antics practically caused a cancelation for the show, racked up a whopping FIVE mugshots this year! #CheckMyCharges #GoogleMyMugshots
Twins Nicole and Teresa Napolitano have joined the cast. Unfortunately reports say the constant cat fighting lobbed at them by Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga is proving to be too much and they're already ready to quit!
Go figure that once Teresa and Melissa team up they get unbelievably crazy. This weekend the twins along with their friend (and new Friend of the Housewives) Amber Marchese got into with Melissa during a cast trip to Atlantic City.
Yesterday Joe was spotted in court alone so attorneys could determine whether or not his identity fraud trial should take place before or after his federal trial for fraud. Decisions, decisions! Noticeably absent (as she always is) was Teresa!
“They are having problems. It is almost impossible for a marriage to survive all this stress,” a friend confides to Naughty But Nice Rob. “We are praying for them, but it does not look good."
Just in time for the holidays, Albert Manzo is getting a lawsuit in his stocking. Oopsie!
A waitress claims that Al and his brother Tommy Manzo (you know… Dina's hubby!) stiffed her of overtime pay plus called her and other co-workers "Spic bitches" along with other "racial, sexual, ethnic and country of origin epithets."
Lanise Jackson filed a suit against the former Real Housewives of New Jersey stars and Brownstone manager Robert Manger. Her lawsuit states she was employed there from October 2011 to April 2012 and then again from September to November 2013 when she was "constructively terminated as she could no longer endure the racial, sexual, ethnic and country of origin epithets hurled at her hourly."
When A-List and D-List worlds collide, I start to get a little woozy. In this case, I'm not sure if Jennifer Lawrence is paying someone a compliment or delivering some super-shade worthy of our best Housewives!
Jennifer admits that she found inspiration for her role in American Hustle in an unlikely source: the Real Housewives of New Jersey! Jennifer says her Joisee accent for the character Rosalyn Rosenfeld stemmed from watching too much Teresa Giudice!
