Ladies of London

The reality TV viewer numbers are in – and every show but Ladies of London saw a decrease in viewership this week. On Sunday, a teen-focused episode of Sister Wives garnered 1.246 million, and a bad trip to Vienna on Keeping Up with Kardashians managed 2.061 million. Also, only 812,000 fans bothered to watch Married to Medicine without a Kandi's Wedding lead-in, which is less than half of the prior week's audience. Ouch.

On Monday, Ladies of London saw its second highest audience with 962,000 tuning in to see the Mapperton estate, 3.797 million sat through Joseline and Stevie's drama on Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, and Shannon and David in Puerto Vallarta on Real Housewives of Orange County attracted 1.770 million. On Tuesday, 1.15 million suffered through Kristen and Heather's bickering on Real Housewives of New York.

gorga house 1

Do you have any pinot and popcorn left over from yesterday's long and crazy tale of the sale/notsale of Joe and Melissa Gorga's mansion in Montville?  If not, go get a fresh batch of both because the story isn't over!  Kai Patterson is sharing many more details and further explanations today in a statement he prepared.  Lies, money issues, shady business dealings and back-outs, and much more..just another day in the RHONJ hood!

I'm going to warn you in advance that this is hella long.  I was going to find a way to trim it down and summarize, but really..it's just too detailed and fascinating to cut up.  In a nutshell, there's a possibility that Joe wasn't totally up front with Melissa about his side deals, repair promises and other agreements with Kai.  They did ask Kai to participate in an episode of Real Housewives of New Jersey where he would say he purchased the house.  Also, Patterson didn't get the keys to the house until February of this year. Melissa shut off all the utilities when they moved out in September and -big shock- the pipes allegedly froze and burst over the winter.

Settle in because here is his statement and explanation almost in its entirety!

Downstars Office (Old Kids Room) Fallen Ceiling from Leak in Updstairs Laundry Room2

As with everything involving The Real Housewives of New Jersey, things are not ever as they seem.  And in the case of Melissa Gorga's $3.8 million Montville mansion, the cracks are showing – literally!  Kai Patterson's spokesperson reached out to shoot down the claims made in the press yesterday by Joe and Melissa regarding the sale of their home and their attempt to evict him from the mansion for non-payment.  It would appear there's another side to the story (shocker!) and it's a doozy!

Mr. Patterson's rep shared an extensive response which includes a laundry list of repairs not completed on the home – with photo evidence and more.  Get your popcorn and Pinot.  There are BEAVERS running amok in the Gorga mansion, y'all!

"In response to your article related to the Gorga's home, Mr. Patterson's rental agreement was modified on November 21, 2013, which changed the price of the rent to $10,000 per month (See Attachment: Modification of Lease and Purchase Terms Executed by All Parties on 11-21-2014.pdf – Paragraph 3b).  A subsequent agreement changed the start date of the agreement executed on November 21, 2013 to February 26, 2014 and possession was taken the property on February 28, 2014.  The February 26, 2014 agreement pushed back the increase in rent until after October 2014, which the Gorgas failed to provide to the Court (See Attachment: Paragraph 1 of Modified Rider as of 02-26-2014).  In addition to paying $10,000 rent, an additional $10,000 per month was to be paid towards the purchase of the property, and those payments were to be used make several needed repairs before and after taking possession of the property.  Although the Gorgas were initially paid $10,000 rent, and a deposit of $25,000, which was to be applied to the purchase price of the home and used to make the repairs, none of the repairs were made on the list of repairs provided below (See: Needed Repairs List and Pictures Below)."

RHONJ Melissa and Joe

Well, things are making a little more sense in the sale of Joe and Melissa Gorga's mansion.
The couple reportedly sold their Montville home for full asking price of $3.8 million dollars back in August, but no sale was ever recorded with the county.  Our sources told us that the couple was  either renting out the home or dealing with a land-contract type situation (reportedly software engineer and Project Child Support founder Kai D. Patterson – sometimes known as Kai Paterson).

A rep for the Real Housewives of New Jersey stars shared that they are trying to evict the buyer for non payment and bounced checks.  “In August 2013, the Gorgas entered into a purchase agreement with an extended close option for the sale of their Montville home. To date, the purchaser has failed to uphold his financial obligations under the agreement and provided bounced checks totaling $20,000 as well as failed to pay rent for the months of April, May, and June 2014."

Luxury Ladies Luncheon hosted by Jill Zari

Despite losing her job, Kathy Wakile is forging full-speed ahead in the building of a massive new home! Hopefully this means she invested her Real Housewives of New Jersey paychecks wisely and isn't headed down the same path of some of her former co-stars and family members (ahem… Teresa Giudice! Ahem… shady house issues with Melissa Gorga and hubby Joe!).

Kathy and Richie have been working with Kevin Jonas (as in Jonas brothers) to design and build their new place and updating fans on instagram.

It's too bad we won't get to see more of the project on the upcoming season of RHONJ. And congratulations to Kathy and Richie – can't wait to see the completed project.

kandi celebrates her bachelorette party

There isn't much to report on this week's reality TV viewer numbers. The shows either remained steady or gained a handful of viewers – no big losses, which is good, because most of these shows can't afford to lose any fans. On Sunday, Kandi's Wedding saw a season high with 2.557 million tuning in to see Kandi's bachelorette party, and Married to Medicine garnered 1.706 million viewers.

Also, a double dose of Sister Wives averaged 1.5 million fans, and a crap-filled episode (literally and figuratively) of Keeping Up with the Kardashians managed 2.194 million viewers.

On Monday, a hat party on Ladies of London attracted 758,000 viewers, and 1.864 million watched Shannon grill Heather on Real Housewives of Orange County. As always, Love & Hip Hop Atlanta ruled the night, with 3.832 million tuning in to see Benzino learn of his mother's passing. On Tuesday, 1.268 million fans sat through non-stop whining on Real Housewives of New York.

Chris And Jacqueline Laurita: New Movement In Signature Apparel Bankruptcy Case

It's mind-boggling that it has been almost five years since Signature Apparel Group filed for bankruptcy!  The company, owned by former Real Housewives of New Jersey star Chris Laurita and his brother Joseph filed for bankruptcy in late 2009, despite having record income of $250 million during the years of 2005-2009.  The bankruptcy has been held up by a number of a issues, namely the accusation that the Lauritas frivolously spent eight million dollars for personal use.

According to the complaint at the time, Chris and Joseph were accused of "draining the company of all its funds and assets in order to support their families’ increasingly opulent lifestyle of private jets, limousines, extravagant parties, premium automobiles, designer clothing, ostentatious home furnishings and lavish vacations,” the complaint filed November 2, 2010 alleged. “Signature’s assets were misused to make outright and unjustified payments to Laurita family members, and to fund the operations of the Laurita brothers’ other companies and business ventures.”

melissa gorga at the 2014 bravo upfronts

For the first time since Melissa Gorga joined Real Housewives of New Jersey, family feuding will not dominate the storyline. Of course, that just means there's room for other feuds! With non-family members. Oh goody.

This year twin sisters Nicole Napolitano and Teresa Aprea join the cast, along with Melissa's former friend Amber Marchese (pronounced Mar-CHEESY - how perfect, amirite?!). And, of course, Dina returns now that her family members have been kicked off the show.

"I think they fit in really well. It's fresh and different," Melissa tells WetPaint about the new cast members. "But it's a bumpy road… There's a lot of things you won't expect to happen."
