Last night’s Love & Hip Hop once again took a turn for the ratchet. We preheat with women falling all over men who don’t give two flips about them, mix in some horrific wig courtesy of Chrissy Monroe, and serve with a half-baked brawl at some random nightclub. Later, rinse, repeat!
Not surprisingly, Yandy Smith is still livid about Mendeecees’ false claim that their son was in the emergency room just to get her to answer the phone. That’s normal, right? She’s catching up with Kimbella (welcome back!) who I would never have recognized, and she shares that she has barely spoken to Mendeecees in the last week because she’s so mad. Kimbella is shocked to hear about Mendeecees’ stunt and Yandy’s subsequent fight with his assistant. However, Kimbella wonders if Mendeecees may have felt disrespected. Perhaps he’s owed an apology? Like Yandy, I am perplexed by Kimbella’s take on the situation.
Our favorite reality TV stars cannot get enough of the spotlight during their regularly scheduled time slots, so they take to social media to share even more of their lives with us. And we would not have it any other way. Here’s a roundup of some of our favorite snapshots and selfies from this week. Enjoy.
Above: Don’t Be Tardy star Kim Zolciak shared, “You guys finally talked me into trying a waist trainer! I can’t believe how tiny it makes my waist. I’m obsessed with @nowaistclique waist trainer. It doesn’t show through clothes!”
Last night’s Love & Hip Hop introduced us to the illustrious Astrid. In her thirty second scene, Amina Buddafly’s mother spoke more sense than anyone at anytime on this franchise…ever. I realize that’s not saying much, but this woman was on point. Can we have her at the helm of Love & Hip Hop: Hamburg?
As the episode begins, Yandy Smith is still reeling from fiancee Mendeecees telling her that Amir was in the hospital because she forgot to pick him up at school. Mendeecees is frustrated that Yandy doesn’t think his work is as important as hers. Why does he always have to be the one on carpool duty? Mendeecees doesn’t understand how he did anything wrong, and Yandy can’t understand how he can’t see how his behavior was that of a total asshat. His true colors are starting to show.
Holy girl power, Bat(wo)man! Last night on Love & Hip Hop, the ladies were standing up for themselves, whether it was with unnecessarily gratuitous clothing optional model or pregnancy shoves. Estrogen was in the air for sure! Rich Dollaz is meeting with Jhonni about her recent apology turned smack down with Precious Paris. Jhonni hopes that Rich won’t find her at fault…after all, she came to the boutique at his request and with good intentions. However, if she’s going to take the heat, she hopes it comes delivered by Rich 50 Shades of Grey style. She warns him that if she’s put in that situation again, Paris will need a stretcher. Rich reminds her that she’s not a gangsta rapper, she’s an R&B performer. She’s a lover, not a fighter. She starts playing footsie with him under the table, and while Rich is adamant he wants to keep their relationship purely professional, he does invite her to sit in his lap for a proper lecture before following her home. Game over.
Ever since Yandy Smith decided that Mendeecees’ intern was her number one target, things have been a bit tense between the newly betrothed couple. She tells him that she met with Remy, and he’s frustrated that she won’t let him handle his own business. Yandy shares that Remy is trying to single-white female her by showing the Instagram outfit that Remy copied for their meeting. Mendeecees believes that Remy is just aspiring to be successful like Yandy, but he’s too tired to argue. He promises to have a talk with his new assistant about the importance of respecting his fiance.
Mona Scott Young deserves the slowest of slow claps. She is always trying to outdo herself in crazy drama. Unfortunately, she didn’t realize that when she cast Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, she was going to create the perfect storm, one which even the franchise’s creator couldn’t live up to in the grand scheme of VH1.
But, gracious, she certainly keeps trying! In an effort to bring new life to the original Love & Hip Hop, Mona has brought in a few new cast members. None are so memorable as Baltimore native Chrissy Monroe. She dates music producer Chink Santana, she’s got long-standing beef with Erica Mena due to her past as an alleged madame career as a modeling mogul, and she’s got a suitcase full of wigs that leave Kim Zolciak envious. Well, maybe not, but the lady has some serious hair pieces!
Ahh, all is right with the world. Last night’s Love & Hip Hop episode returned to its regularly scheduled antics which always end in a massive beat down. But, let’s not get ahead of ourselves…after the blow-up in the studio, Rich Dollaz is all aflutter about the drama. Rich is concerned about Jhonni flying off the handle, and Precious Paris reminds him that he isn’t helping further her career. He admits to being at partially at fault and promises to get working on her music, but first Rich needs to regulate Jhonni’s behavior.
Chink has planned a romantic getaway with Chrissy who is sporting an other horrible wig and dressed like a disco ball. She apologizes for being insensitive towards Chink’s struggle with his father’s ailing health. Chrissy wants to meet his family so that she can get to know the people who are so important to Chink. Of course, Chink takes this opportunity to tell Chrissy that his cousin relayed the fact that the family is fiercely loyal to Chink’s estranged wife and they’re not going to welcome any new girl. Faster than she can change her wig, Chrissy has changed her mind. Screw Chink’s family…she doesn’t want to meet them either!
Yandy Smith and Tara Wallace are shopping for Yandy’s baby girl. Tara shares that she allowed her boys to meet their half-sister. She admits that she’s been so angry at Amina Buddafly for so long, but Tara needs to move on from Peter Gunz. We’ll see how that goes. Speaking of side chicks and side eye, Yandy tells Tara that Mendeecees booked a party through a woman she doesn’t entirely trust. She feels like her fiance needs to be asking for her to assist his career, not Remy.
I’ve been waiting all weekend for more of Chrissy’s fabulous wigs. She’s pulling a fast one on us, right? Her hair–or the drama–on last night’s Love & Hip Hop didn’t disappoint. It was the same manufactured Mona mess as always!
After Mendeecees’s mother and his ex Samantha’s mother went haywire with drink throwing and death threats at a recent meeting to discuss Little Mendeecees, Yandy Smith is shopping with her fiance and getting the scoop on the evening’s antics. Yandy doesn’t know whether to laugh or, well, laugh at the idea of Mendeecees’ mom and Kim brawling over their grandson’s future. And here Yandy thought involving the grandmothers would create calmer negotiations. I guess if she wants something done right, she’ll have to do it herself!
Rich Dollaz has fun friends. He asked Cisco and Mendeecees to go shoot some hoops, but uh oh! The fellas take a wrong turn on the way to the basketball court and end up at a strip club. The three men share about the messy situations in which they have recently found themselves. Mendeecees is like a broken record with his mama drama, Rich was put on social media blast after messing with Jhonni, and Cisco can’t believe that the girl he cheated on and left has moved on with a new boyfriend. The nerve! Chink commiserates as well. He’s in love with Chrissy, but he’s not ready to divorce his wife yet. However, after hearing the craziness his friends are facing, he starts to think that perhaps his relationship with Chrissy is worth moving on from his ex.
My eyes! Last night’s Love & Hip Hop started off with a bang, and I’m almost blinded by booty. Thanks a heap, Mona!
Rich Dollaz is attending a photo shoot to check out up and coming artist Jhonni. What in the world is she wearing? Is Miley Cyrus her stylist? Rich reveals that he has history with Jhonni, and when he stopped hooking up with her, she tweeted out his phone number. He likes ‘em crazy, doesn’t he? Understandably, Rich is weary to work with her, but it’s a favor for a friend. Jhonni apologizes for her little indiscretion, and Rich warns her that he’s gone at the first hint of shenanigans.
