It was the most disturbing and horrendous episode I’ve ever had to blog about, and I watch some seriously trashy television. Y’all know I have to be talking about the most recent Basketball Wives, right? Naturally viewers were outraged as they watched Tami Roman bully fellow cast mate Kesha Nichols in a drunken tirade while vacationing in Tahiti. While I was certain that an apology would ensue just for the sake of damage control, I wasn’t holding my breath that it would be sincere. Bingo!
On Tuesday, Tami took to twitter to apologize for her horrendous behavior to Kesha. However, presumably due to backlash, she has since deleted her twitter account. According to newsone.com, the first apology tweet stated, I’m not proud of my behavior, but I own up to it and face it. I do apologize 2my family, my friends, my kids & 2 my cast members—Tami Roman (@TamiRoman)” followed by “I just landed in NYC, but I did catch 2nites episode on the plane. As I said earlier, this was BAD, wrong & immature-I apologize…—Tami Roman (@TamiRoman).”
This season of Basketball Wives has got to be almost over, right? I mean, I don’t know how much more I can take of these women. Just a forewarning, this post is more emotional than I tend to be, just because I was beyond disgusted at what I was watching. I used to really enjoy watching these women. Where did things go wrong??
Tami Roman is still going off on Kesha Nichols. Kesha is staying cool, while Tami continues to remind Kesha that she told Royce Reed and Suzie Ketcham she wanted to go off on her. Kesha walks away and tries to remain calm, as Tami confiscates her pocketbook and refuses to relinquish it until Kesha returns to put her in her place. Do you kiss your kids with that mouth, Tami? Tami seems to be mad that Kesha doesn’t know where she comes from, but it’s time to put that excuse to rest. Tami apparently doesn’t seem to care that Kesha comes from a background where people don’t b!tch slap one another and hold handbags hostage. I want to smack (not really, as I’d be stooping to their level) Shaunie O’Neal,Evelyn Lozada, and Suzie for not intervening. When Kesha walks away, the other women think that Kesha should have spoken her mind. Shaunie even laughs that Tami is really going to keep her bag and sunglasses. Tami, you are a grown woman, and you should be ashamed of your behavior. Sixth grade bully.
On last night’s Basketball Wives, the women headed to Tahiti where all hell breaks lose and someone’s anger management backslides…big time. But first, a little daughter-daddy dramatics!
Royce, Royce, Royce. We resume with Royce Reed bawling to her father. She just wants to hear her father say he’s proud of her. Is that too much to ask? Can Royce please get a hug? Geez, her dad was just trying to give her some fatherly advice on how not to look like she jumps from man to man for attention. Yet here she is, begging her father for attention. Daddy issues, perhaps?
Oh Basketball Wives! An episode with no fighting? What’s a girl to do? Don’t get me wrong…I relished in it, but I am just so…so…so confused!
Tami Roman, Nia Crooks, and Evelyn Lozada meet up for cocktails, and Evelyn is appalled that Jenn Williams is giving interviews about the smack situation. Jenn is dead to Nia, and Tami agrees. Of course, in Tami’s interview she says that what happened at the race track was between Jenn, Nia, and Evelyn…she will continue to maybe kind of be passive aggressive pals with Jenn. Evelyn is beside herself. She realizes that she’s an adult with an eighteen-year-old daughter, and while she should probably be more mature, she wants Jenn’s blood. It’s a totally normal and mature reaction, right? Evelyn wants Tami to uninvite Jenn from the Tahiti trip, but Tami is unwilling. Jenn’s been invited, and Evelyn needs to get over it. Wow, Tami. I am slightly impressed. Evelyn makes sure that Tami knows that she’s in charge of Evelyn not getting arrested in Tahiti.
We resume with Basketball Wives where we seem to every week…with a fight involving Evelyn Lozada. Shoeless (we all know what that means, don’t we Kenya Bell?), she steps across the table to get to Jenn Williams who has just been smacked by her friend Nia. Evelyn takes a flying leap off the table into the arms of a waiting production team bouncer. I would ask when will these ladies ever learn, but I’m pretty sure the answer is “Never.” But I will ask, when will these venues stop letting these kooks film their show at their places?
Evelyn wants Jennifer dead for thinking she’s better than Nia. How dare Jenn call Nia a “bum b*tch?” Evelyn wreaks havoc on a plant while Jenn watches. Nia calls out Jenn for having celebrity friends. Tami Roman can’t even regain control of the situation. She’s confused. Jenn decides it’s time to leave, and Evelyn beaks down in tears because you don’t judge a b*tch. You nevah evah judge a b*tch, ya hear? Gracious. Kesha Nichols leaves with Jenn, and she asks if the attack was expected. Kesha should know by now that outbursts are par for the course with these “ladies.”
Must everything about Basketball Wives be messy? And must twitter usually be the cause? After introducing her love, Dezmon Briscoe, on Monday night’s episode, all hell broke loose in Twitterverse for Royce Reed. After Dezmon’s baby mama, Christina Nero, tweeted, “I swear I almost threw up watching bbw fake a$s relationship” and revealed that Dezmon had been sending her “freaky texts,” Royce was adamant she was a liar. What a difference a few days make!
In the midst of the drama, Dezmon tweeted, “baby mama wanna be messy so I’ll clean it up. I sent the messages she posted …To be on her good side because she has my son.” Fair enough, right? He later apologized to his beloved in the intimate and sincere way possible…again via Twitter. “I could of handled the situation better,” he tweets. “I’m still wrong and I wanna apologize to @Roycelr because she don’t deserve that. Love you.” Awww…
While Royce is no doubt humiliated, she tweeted, “I was lied 2 and stood by it. Gonna take a lot more than THAT 4 forgiveness…My heart is broken….y the hell send it just 2 appease sum1″ She makes a very valid point, no?
Even in her VH1 blog, Royce is truly mad…but is it directed at the correct person? She has posted pictures of her and Dezmon in happier times and posts an open letter to his baby mama. Yikes! She writes:
“At the end of the day” (Jen voice) he will not be with her. So the rant she went on and my responses change nothing for her life. Not only do I look like a fool in love, but she looks like a bitter, jealous and angry “Baby Momma.” That’s worse. Fact is, they were never an item. They were never a couple. But for just under a year, she has been angry that he has been with me…I’m sure she wonders why she was never “the one” to marry but just “the one” to do before he met me.
Surely she has some equally harsh words for the dude who actually started this, right? Well, maybe “harsh” isn’t the right word. I realize that relationships are complicated, and no one really knows the full story, but Royce has an admitted history of blurred vision when it comes to men. Is history repeating itself? She continues:
Do I think Dezmon loves me? Yes! Do I think what he did was wrong? Absolutely. Are we done…forever? Honestly, I don’t know. Readers can say I’m dumb if I go back, but with relationships come mistakes. I was lied to and lesson learned…I entertained it on Twitter. I let the drama get to me despite being told to ignore it. That was my immaturity in this experience coming out. I admit that. Yes, I’m embarrassed, humiliated and broken. But I’m strong. Regardless of what happens I will be okay. Do I love him? Yes. Is that enough to stay? At this point, no.
Oh, Basketball Wives so much drama it’s hard to imagine there’s more to come! On last Monday’s episode, viewers watched the slap heard round VH1 as Jennifer Williams was hit in the face by former bestie Evelyn Lozada‘s assistant Nia Crooks. Well, big mistake Nia, because Jenn is mad – suing mad! Really – where did Evelyn find this so-called assistant?!
Taking to her blog, titled “Seeking Justice,” Jennifer walks through the emotions associated with that day, and why she feels Nia deserves to be hauled into court! Jennifer believes Nia was motivated by a quest for fame – something she has in common with her boss! “On my show some of these women take pride in showing their ass in the most compromising way. These females have a point to prove and will do or say anything to be a ‘reality show star,'” Jennifer seethes.
“Fame is a powerful drug and some will go any length to achieve it. I am a grown woman and I have never had to fight someone to prove my point, I use my vocabulary and brain for that. Mature woman should be able to communicate their differences without violence. Using your hands to express yourself is absolutely WACK!!!”
As for the day in question, Jennifer had no intention of getting into an argument with anyone, and was very surprised by what transpired. “The assistant/gofer decided to be in full action with her monkey see monkey do self as she snuck a slap from behind. You are a coward if you catch me off guard while sitting down and not to mention a bully!;” Jennifer recounts
“Then the president of the NON Factor T-shirt Enterprise (HA! HAHA!) thought that jumping across the table like a demon would be a good look for the young women in America that watch the show. The horses racing around the track were more civilized than some of the woman with me in the presidential suite that day. I swear I still don’t understand why someone would want to act so ridiculous on national television but I guess some will do anything for fame.” Dang, I love when Jenn gets feisty and mad!

Last night’s Basketball Wives was exactly everything we’ve come to expect from this formulaic season. Ladies gossip, ladies lunch, ladies gossiping and lunching promise to “cut a b*tch” if they ever see said B again, other ladies don’t think it’s a good idea for a group gathering, yet, a group gathering is planned. Mayhem ensues right as the show’s hour comes to an end. Lather, rinse, repeat for a season…
Tami Roman continues her deep conversation with her mother. Her mother is very emotional, and she admits that she too was molested as a child and she’s been going to therapy as well to work through her issues. The pair seems have a breakthrough which ends in hugs and tears.
Royce Reed is thrilled that Dezmon Briscoe, her NFL playing beau from Tampa Bay, is visiting in Miami. She immediately begins grilling him about his initial meeting with her father. I can’t tell if Dezmon is flattered or scared when she begins to compare their relationship to her parents’ forty plus year marriage. He admits that he is deeply in love, but he also has a lot of “we’re going with the flow” talk.
Tami is excited that Shaunie O’Neal is in visiting because it gives her the opportunity dish on Kenya Bell’s music video. Tami is disappointed that Kenya didn’t stick up for herself, but she also wishes Kenya could see the importance of listening to constructive criticism. Both women do a spot-on interpretation on Jenn Williams, who was uncomfortable at the video screening, and it segues into how all the women will behave when they head to the horse races. Last year, Tami had her own screaming match at the track, so she’s curious to see if they ladies can act maturely. Sure. Tami is also concerned, in light of Jenn and Royce’s new truce, if Jenn will change her tune towards Royce if she makes up with Evelyn Lozada.
Evelyn meets with her friend/assistant Nia who also used to be close with Jenn. Nia is upset that someone she was such good friends with can now pretend like she doesn’t even know her. Evelyn feels badly that Jenn has hurt Nia’s feelings so badly. Evelyn vows that is she is around when Nia wants to confront Jenn, she is going to stay out it. Yeah, I can’t wait to see that happen.
