Stevie J still can’t get it together with his child support payments or his addiction issues. After violating probation in his child support case, the judge ordered him to a 30-day in-patient rehab facility in lieu of jail time.
Stevie J (aka Steven Jordan) returned to court yesterday hoping he could convince a judge that he’s not guilty of remiss child support payments! The Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star pled “Not Guilty” following an indictment for owing more than $1.1 million in unpaid support, and insists he does pay – but it’s being spent it faster than he makes it!
Stevie’s case is being tried in federal court, instead of state court as is the norm in family proceedings. “There is a history in this case of the failure of Family Court to address this successfully,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew DeFilippis explained, calling the federal court a “last resort” due to the extreme dollar amount of what Stevie owes and the lack of suitable resolution in state court due to filing errors.
Above, Stevie outside court, he captioned the photo: “My day 1 support system! @stefateaser @thebaddestputa1 @mcl_pr #The DevilIsALiar #lhhatl #TheJordans”
Stevie J‘s life as a deadbeat dad has finally come to an end! The federal government is putting a stop to his remiss fathering ways after a grand jury indicted Stevie for owing more than $1 million dollars in unpaid child support and now he could be headed to prison.
The Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star has been trying to fight the charges, even attempting to take a plea deal where he goes to rehab in exchange for avoiding prison and getting a reduced payment. Stevie is currently in a 30-day rehab program because he failed a few court-ordered drug tests, I might add!
Stop the bus! We’ve got a lot of Stevie J. news to share. Before I start, I certainly hope that Mona Scott Young has Dr. Drew on speed dial so she can cash in on her Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star’s latest dramz! Celebrity Rehab plus LHH:ATL definitely equals a reality train wreck we’d all tune in to watch. And I’m worried about the future of humanity! 😉
We all know that ol’ Stevie has been battling the feds over a minor child support snafu. Please note that “minor” was supposed to be typed in my special “sarcasm” font. The reality star reportedly owes back support to one the mothers of his children to the tune of over $1 million after neglecting to pay since 2001. His hearing is scheduled for January 9th, but apparently Stevie is hoping to strike a deal. Here’s hoping it happens before he heads to rehab. Yes, you read that correctly!
Mo money, mo problems, right? Maybe the phrase should be "Mona money, Mona problems" because the cast of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta can't seem to stay on the straight and narrow. Leaked sex tapes and funeral shootings and Nikko's smirk, oh my! Mona Scott Young should pitch a spin-off that's sober house meets Couples Therapy. Just kidding…I'm trademarking that idea as I type. TM, Mona, T.M.
So I predicted that Mona posted Stevie J.'s bail after he was arrested for owing more than $1 million in child support (how is that even a thing??), and it turns out I was right. However, it seems that not paying for his children isn't Stevie's only issue (and I'm not counting the Puerto Rican princess).
Mona Scott Young has been accused of a lot of cover-ups lately. According to a new report, Mona is so desperate to protect the Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta brand she is lying about her stars to keep them on the show!
It was Mona who posted the $25k bail for her prized Stevie. It seems Stevie's true financial status has been in question for some time. In April, Mona, along with several producers and music industry execs and insiders who do business with Stevie, were subpoenaed by Project Child Support (a non-profit which aids custodial parents in seeking funds owed for child support), to determine his true "income and revenue sources."
