As y'all know, NBC pulled the Style Network off the air and replaced it with Esquire last year. This came as a shock to the fashion obsessed and to reality TV fans who couldn't get enough of shows likeBig Rich Texas,Tia & Tamera, and Jerseylicious.
Late last week, we learned that Rida Khan resigned as the CEO of Fashion TV and purchased Style TV, with plans to re-launch the network in October.
Since the demise of the Style Network, I've been anxious to find out what will happen to a few of my favorite reality shows. While some of Style's lineup will simply disappear, a few shows will likely end up on E!, Oxygen, or Bravo.
The thought of never seeing my favorite Big Rich Texas stars again gives me a serious case of the sads. Le sigh. So, when Melissa Poe tweeted that she's involved with a new reality series, I may have let out a happy little squee.
If you can't get enough of the Style Network, with shows like Kimora: House of Fab, Jerseylicious, Glam Fairy, and Big Rich Texas, you'll want to check out these new shows!
Two shows, XOX Betsey Johnson and Resale Royalty, premiere Sunday, May 12 on Style. The remaining eleven titles are still under development.
XOX Betsey Johnson – For years, Betsey Johnson has led the fashion community with her youthful and eclectic styles, and she now gives viewers unprecedented access to her life with daughter Lulu.
Betsey and Lulu have always worked together to expand Betsey’s fashion empire, but the pressures of their business relationship have created a co-dependent mother-daughter relationship. Betsey and Lulu find their deeply entangled relationship will be tested as they evolve both professionally and personally.
If you turn on the Style Network at any given time of the day, chances are you're going to see Kimora Lee Simmons sharing her fashion tips during the commercial breaks. The model, actress, fashion designer, and author (she wrote Fabulosity: What It Is And How To Get It) is known just as much for her high profile relationships as she is for her multiple business ventures. Married and divorced from fashion and music mogul Russell Simmons (the pair has two tween daughters), Kimora recently separated from her latest beau Dijimon Hounsou with whom she has a three-year-old-son.
Kimora showcased her life on the reality series Kimora: Life In The Fab Lane which aired on Style and featured her family and business as she ran Phat Fashions. Now that she and Dijimon have split–they never legally married in the United States but did participate in a traditional ceremony–Kimora is dishing on the importance of putting children first and focusing on the positive.
Big Rich Atlanta has been on the air for a few weeks now and one cast member is trying hard to emerge as the "star" of the show. So it surprised us this morning to see that Ashlee Wilson-Hawn is announcing that the Style Network lied on her cast bio page!
Last night during The Real Housewives of Atlanta, we snarked during our Live-Tweeting, wondering why Ashlee wasn't on the scene for Miss Cynthia's Renaissance Pageant. We joked, "Wait, why isn't Miss Big Rich Atlanta there? She's supposedly the most sought-after pageant coach? #rhoa".
The Tweet was simply a reference to Ashlee's bio on Style. Apparently she's never read her own cast blurb on the network website.
I think that Rihanna needs to stick to what she does best…singing and commiserating with douchebags. She doesn't need to be producing and starring in her own reality show. To be honest, I'm so skeeved that she went back to Chris Brown and even encourages his entitled and hateful behavior that I don't really even want to listen to her music, much less watch her on a television show.
Of course, no one asked my opinion, so it appears that RiRi will be heading to the Style Network in 2013 for a show called Styled to Rock where she hand-picks twelve up and coming fashion designers to dress celebrity guests. Does any of this sound familiar?
Kimora: House of Fab follows these style savvy professionals as they work to bring affordable fashion to the digital forefront at one of the go-to online platforms for high fashion looks. From innovative ad campaigns, celebrity events, and New York Fashion Week, Kimora: House of Fab is a glimpse into the high-tech world of a fashion dot-com and the fiercely chic employees who make it all come together.
Atlanta is certainly getting some spin-off love, isn’t it? The Style Network has just announced that it will be introducing a new batch of snooty mother-daughter pairs in the Peach State, and we’ll be able to watch all the madness in early 2013.
The spin-off, aptly titled Big Rich Georgia, will focus on socialites who are members of the Buckhead Country Club in Atlanta. Like it’s Texas counterpart, the mothers and daughters will do anything to stay on top of the Atlanta social scene. And speaking of Texas, the original Big Rich Texas will return on October 7, and we’ll be introduced to some new ladies and their lasses.
TELL US-ARE YOU EXCITED TO WATCH BIG RICH GEORGIA? ARE YOU GLAD BIG RICH TEXAS WILL BE RETURNING?
