Be careful on the roads, people! Stop texting and driving! Slow down! Use your headlights! For goodness sake, pay some friggin' attention when you're behind the wheel! I shall step off my soapbox now and inform you that on Monday, the Shannon Thompson clan of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo fame, was involved in a terrible car wreck. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured, but it sounds like a scary ordeal!
First reported by TMZ, sources claim that Sugar Bear was driving the family's new Suburban while June, Pumpkin (Lauryn), Chubbs (Jessica), and Honey Boo Boo (Alana) were along for the ride as passengers. Apparently, Sugar Bear was trying to make a left hand turn on a green light when a truck (allegedly speeding and sans headlights) plowed into the family's vehicle.
Shame on the Grinches who tried to rain on the Shannon-Thompson's Christmas spirit! Not everyone agrees with me, but the Here Comes Honey Boo Boo family could teach lessons on the importance of giving back and not letting reality stardom go to one's head.
Each year, the family known for 'sketti and forklift foot puts on an insane display of Christmas lights, gathers to meet fans, and asks for canned goods and toys to donate to a local charity. They even sell merchandise from their show with the proceeds benefiting the charity. You can't get more down to earth than that! Are you paying attention, Kardashians?
Forklift foot, neck rust, and 'sketti aside (I do sometimes have to avert my eyes), this family loves one another. They seem to have accomplished what no other reality stars have been able to do—staying grounded!
And now, we get to see even more of crew because TLC has ordered more episodes.
If you learn anything important from TLC (and why wouldn't you? It's The Learning Channel for goodness' sake!), it should be that you don't mess with June Shannon. The Here Comes Honey Boo Boo matriarch may be a fierce mama bear when it comes to protecting her colorful brood. That said, she's just as quick to call them out for bad behavior!
Those of you who admit to watching the show (and those of you who watch it in secret and silently giggle while reading Sugar Bear's one-liners) know that middle daughter Pumpkin (not to be confused with the slightly older Chubbs) often uses negative behavior to gain recognition among her loud and crazy family members. She has complained in the past that she isn't thrilled with the attention she's garnered in her life outside of the hit reality show. While Pumpkin has complained of being the victim of bullies, it seems that she's taken on the role of mean girl.
I hate the reminders that our favorite reality stars are human just like us. We get so invested in their lives, that it is always sad when bad news strikes. Of course, for the family of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, it's the hardships that seem to make them stronger.
With the new season of HCHBB right around the corner, TLC has a brand new way for fans to be part of the action. As the girls fart and burp their way through a day filled with June's forklift foot and infamous 'sketti, now you can be a part of the aroma-filled action. Still reading without gagging? Just wait…
It's been a hard holiday weekend for the Shannon/Thompson family, and things don't seem to be looking up for the Here Comes Honey Boo Boo clan. Here's hoping they get some good news soon.
As we posted on Saturday, Sugar Bear is in the hospital, and tests are being run. Unfortunately, June Shannondoesn't have much more to report on his condition. Also, their sweet pooch China, who often appeared on the show (he was particularly visible in most of the train shots) passed away over the weekend as well. The whole family, especially Alana Thompson, is having a difficult time dealing with the loss.
June Shannon shared on Facebook about Sugar Bear's latest medical scare, "just wanted everyone [to] know sugarbear was taken to the hospital earlier tonight after getting dizzy and passing out, their [they're] running test on him to see what's going on. So far everything is coming back ok so no answers yet, will update when we know something! Thanks for the prayers & concerns as always! ♥"
Sugar Bear wound up having emergency surgery last fall after a wound on his leg became infected, but it sounds like this most recent scare was nothing serious.
