Taylor Armstrong Interview

With her job as a Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star on the line, Taylor Armstrong is opening up!

In a recent interview, loony lips discussed the differences between reality television and reality. Which is interesting, because I really question if she knows!

Taylor claims, the drama viewers see is completely unscripted, and the emotions and relationships are authentic. “We don’t have writers, so everything is just us interacting with one another,” Taylor explains, speaking to Discover San Diego, “but the real conflict that occurs is all on our own, as much as I’m embarrassed to say that,” she laughs.

“All of our relationship drama is very real. Unfortunately, our lives are not cookie cutter like people expected Beverly Hills to be. So I’m happy in a way that people have been able to see so much of how real these women are and that we really care about each other,” she continues.

“And the fact that we get so emotional is because we are truly invested in each other’s lives and we are a part of each other’s lives.” Taylor is glad the show is able to capture those fun moments, as well. “Any time we are all just having fun together, it makes me so happy to see, because we do have our ups and downs and we’ve all been through a lot together.”

And without her friendships to these ladies, Taylor doesn’t know how she would have survived last season’s dramatic storyline; which she believes was so intense because she was willing to expose more of her life on camera. Taylor claims, season one Taylor was a Taylor hiding from reality and viewers got to see a big difference in her authenticity in season two. “When I watched season one of the show, I really didn’t like me, and I was just a shell of myself,” she reveals.

Taylor blames her late husband, Russell Armstrong, of course. “I was trying to keep so much of my personal life off television that I was — it looked like me in some respects, but the way I was dressing and acting didn’t seem anything like me. And that was a real wake-up call, to see how much of myself I had lost in my relationship. And also seeing my relationship play out on television.”

“Although I knew there were things that were wrong, I could see such a difference between the way, just in our physical space together, how we interacted versus other couples on the show. It brought to light a lot, and I think was one of the biggest catalysts for us going into treatment and therapy in the beginning of last year.”

She calls this season, actual reality and says it was impossible to keep the unflattering and emotional parts of her life away from the cameras. “I was just such a mess this last year, I really was just falling apart and I wasn’t able to keep everything that was going on in my personal life under wraps any longer. I knew too many things were going to come out in the press. And so I really was falling apart, and it was happening as much off camera as it was on,” she describes.

Taylor is not disappointed she was on national TV working through her crisis, if anything she feels it’s a poignant reminder of how far she’s come. “I feel like unfortunately that was an accurate portrayal of the state I was in. And in season one, I was just putting on a facade of who I thought people wanted to see, instead of really letting them into my life. Now that my life is just an open book, it’s a much better place to be.”

Taylor credits the show for giving her the courage to expose the truth behind her marriage, and for allowing her to be a voice for domestic violence, although she is shocked by fan reaction to her storyline. “It is surprising at times, because you don’t know how it’s all going to play out and you don’t know what people are saying about you when you’re not around. So that can be surprising,” she says of watching the shows and then learning of viewers’ reactions.

According to Taylor, the best part of being a Real Housewife is the good moments the cameras have captured; particularly Kennedy‘s opulent birthday parties. Taylor also believes the show has given her a platform to really advocate for domestic violence victims, and she has starting her own foundation to further the cause; The Taylor Armstrong Foundation.

TELL US – THOUGHTS ON TAYLOR’S INTERVIEW?

According to a bizarre report, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Taylor Armstrong watched a video depicting abuse and taped the reaction for her personal website.

Radar Online is reporting that Taylor, who has alleged she was abused by now deceased husband Russell Armstrong, recently watched the viral video of a Texas judge beating his cerebal palsy- stricken daughter for illegally downloading music on the Internet, all while filming her reaction.

The reason? According to sources, Taylor was simply viewing the video to confront her fears about abuse. Taylor has claimed she grew up in an abusive household. Her psychiatrist, Dr. Charles Sophy, was reportedly with her while she viewed the video.

A source goes on to explain why Taylor decided to tape her reaction. “Taylor wanted to confront her fears about domestic violence, and she had heard so much about the judge beating his daughter. She filmed it for it to be released on her website to educate women about domestic violence,” reveals a source.

“Taylor was absolutely gutted watching the video. She cried, and she got very, very angry. She saw herself in the judge’s daughter, vulnerable and unable to fight back. Taylor thought it took tremendous courage for Hillary to film the brutal beating, and to finally release it. Taylor kept saying that could have been my daughter Kennedy. Even though Russell never laid a hand on their daughter, there was no guarantee that if he had lived, he wouldn’t have done that,” adds the source.

Taylor reportedly plans on posting her reaction to the video on her website around the same time her book will be released. Taylor’s tell-all memoir Hiding From Reality, My Story of Love, Loss, and Finding The Courage Within, is slated to be released in February, 2012.

Allrighty, moving on to a recent interview given by Taylor in which she opens up about her struggles during the past year.

Talking to the Hollyscoop blog this week while she was doing some charity work, Taylor admits she has had a rough year. “We’re just continuing with our holiday tradition,” said Taylor. “Obviously things are different for us but at the same time you know really blessed to have a lot of support.”

Taylor was also asked about her behavior on the current season of the RHOBH which involves constantly lashing out at her costars. “This has been a really tough year for me,” Taylor says of her behavior. “And I think people are figuring out why, but at the same time that was my reality at the time and I’m certainly not proud of all of it but all I can do is move on.”

Despite everything, Taylor reveals she is trying to keep things positive for 5-year-old daughter Kennedy by “just letting her be a kid.” “We just went out and got our tree and we have the whole house decorated and just letting her be a kid,” she told Hollyscoop. “We’re going to have our family over and… being here it really helps me to remember to be thankful for all the support that we have.”

TELL US – THOUGHTS ON TAYLOR TAPING HER REACTION FOR HER WEBSITE? DO YOU BELIEVE SHE’S TRULY REMORSEFUL FOR HER BEHAVIOR?

Taylor Armstrong is revealing all in a sit-down interview with Entertainment Tonight.

Over a month after the tragic suicide of her estranged husband Russell Armstrong, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star sat down with ET’s Nancy O’Dell. Taylor opened up on her marriage to Russell, details the abuse she experienced as well as the way she broke the news of Russell’s passing to their daughter Kennedy.

First Taylor, 40, describes what she says was the first time Russell, 47, abused her: “The first time he ever really harmed me physically, I was pregnant with Kennedy and he grabbed me by the throat and held me up against a wall,” she says. The reason for that abuse? He did not like the way she made pizza for his sons. “He grabbed me by the neck and shoved me up against the wall and he said, ‘If you ever make my children a pizza without a vegetable again, I’ll kill you…I saw his ability to go from zero to 60 that quickly.”

Following that first incident, the abuse continued on in her 6-year marriage. “You live your life constantly on eggshells waiting for the other shoe to drop,” Taylor tells Nancy. “You don’t know if you’re going to talk to your girlfriend too long at dinner and that’s going to cause someone to fly into a rage.”

She also states Russell was usually careful in the way he abused her, trying not to leave visible marks.”He would grab me by one side of the hair on my head and bang the other side of my head against the car,” she discloses adding that these would leave knots in her scalp. She cries as she recounts, “He would say to me, ‘I’m afraid I’m going to kill you one day.’”

According to Taylor, Russell abused her about 20 times throughout their marriage, citing the last time (the same incident in which she took photos at the hospital) was one of the most brutal attacks. Taylor says Russell punched her in the eye after she came back home from filming her birthday party in Las Vegas. He had accused her of ignoring him and seeing another man. Taylor states she felt her “eyeball shift.”

After landing in the hospital, she states Russell told her to tell doctors 5-year-old Kennedy accidentally kicked her in the eye with her shoe. Taylor also adds that Russell was with her while she checked into the hospital and talked to doctors. She adds that the doctors were suspicious but never called the cops.

Following the final incident, Russell finally realized just how severe their problem was according to Taylor. “When I finally showed him the MRI he just put it down and started to cry. And I think it was him having to come to terms with the fact that this had gone on for too long, and that this time he really could’ve hurt me beyond what could’ve been repaired.”

Taylor goes on to reveal how she broke the horrible news of Russell’s death to Kennedy. “I just told her that daddy got sick and he died … ,” said Taylor adding she told the 5-year-old that “we could pick a star in the sky and it could be daddy, and that she could talk to him every night.”

As for why she’s going public with her story, Taylor reveals she’s doing it in hopes that she can help other women experiencing the same thing. When asked why she never called cops during the abuse, she states she never wanted Russell to go to jail. “I never wanted to call the police because I didn’t want him to go to jail. I loved him. And he would say ‘If you call the police, they’re going to send me to jail. And who’s going to take care of Kennedy? Who’s going to take care of you?’”

As for the criticism that Russell is no longer here to defend himself, Taylor responds: “I would say that they’re right Unfortunately. He is not here. And I’m mourning the loss of him if not more than anyone.” She adds, “But at the same time, I’ve put myself second in other to protect him and he doesn’t need my protection anymore. But there are a lot of women in this world that probably do. So I have to fight for the living now.”

And just this Wednesday, Russell’s lawyer Ronald Richards claimed Taylor’s abuse photos were phony and that the injuries were not inflicted by Russell. “If Mr. Armstrong was the cause of those injuries he would have been arrested and prosecuted,” Ronald told TMZ adding that the injuries may have been from plastic surgery and noting that Taylor had not filed a police report.

Those close to Taylor however insist the pictures are very real and that she has others that make R&B star Rihanna‘s battered face “look like child’s play.”

Taylor is set to appear on the Dr. Phil Show today to further discuss things and try to get help for coping with this tragedy. Part of the ET interview is below –

Almost a month after her estranged husband Russell Armstrong committed suicide, Taylor Armstrong is now breaking her silence in her first interview since the tragedy.

Entertainment Tonight, which also released the first and only photos of Taylor’s physical abuse days ago, snagged the first exclusive interview with the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star.

It had been reported that Taylor, 40, was angling to give her first interview to Barbara Walters but RadarOnline is now reporting that interview didn’t pan out as Taylor reportedly had too many demands for the veteran journalist.

“Taylor had a list of demands that Walters just wasn’t willing to go along with. Taylor didn’t want to be grilled about her participation on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills possibly contributing to Russell’s suicide,” a source close to the situation reveals. “She didn’t want to be put on the hot seat regarding her spending habits. In the end, Entertainment Tonight was able to come to an agreement with Taylor that she was extremely comfortable with.”

Taylor’s interview with ET will air next Tuesday on September 20. According to ET, Taylor will open up to Nancy O’Dell about the bruises that she says were caused by her late husband. A source close to Taylor states that she underwent Lasik eye surgery on July 5. And just days later, the source claims she was hit by Russell so hard that her corneal flap was dislocated.

Taylor was not seen in public for the remainder of July as her injuries healed. Her first public appearance after that was on August 1, at a press tour promoting season two of the RHOBH.

ET is also reporting that when Russell, 47, showed up at the hospital, Taylor claimed she suffered the injuries when she was kicked in face by their 5-year-old daughter Kennedy. Therefore, the attending doctor did not report any abuse.

It’s more than likely Taylor was paid for the interview and/or the abuse photos. And speaking of those abuse photos, Russell’s sister Laurie Kelsoe is now speaking out about them and against Taylor.

“I think it’s bullsh*t,” Laurie tells the RumorFix about the photos which she admits she has yet to see. Laurie goes on to question Taylor’s intentions. “Why didn’t she file a police report?” Laurie asks. “I think she needs to let it rest — I mean the poor guy’s dead!”
