Teen Mom Season 3

While many of you have expressed a love/hate relationship with Teen Mom 2 (and I can’t say I blame you), I can say with great confidence that all who watched Tuesday’s episode were thrilled to see that Leah Messer and Corey Simms’ daughter Ali wasn’t suffering from brain abnormalities which could lead to mental incapacity. While developmentally she is behind her twin Aleeah, she is healthy and doing well. In a recent interview, Leah opens up to Life and Style about getting the good news.

Upon hearing the diagnosis the young mother remembers, “I was relieved. The worst thing I could’ve heard would be that there’s something wrong with Aliannah’s brain.” Leah reveals it was difficult to mask her fear in front of her twin daughters, stating, “It was pretty hard and emotional as a mom to know that something could be wrong with my child.” Of Ali, who is continuing with physical therapy, Leah exclaims, “She’s doing great!”

Coy with the magazine about her new love, Jeremy Calvert – the guy she met and moved in with in a matter of months – Leah reveals, “Jeremy and I do talk about getting engaged.” Do tell!

And tell she does! Of course, by “she” I mean her ex-husband Corey’s new girlfriend Summer Taverez who gives an exclusive interview to HollywoodLife.com in an effort to jump start her fifteen minutes because apparently her plan of just dating Corey for fame didn’t work.

Summer begins in June (sorry, couldn’t resist), “I think Corey would be very supportive of [Leah's potential engagement]. He likes Jeremy a lot. Jeremy is a good guy.” Summer tells the site, “Him and Jeremy get along great. Actually especially just with me just hanging out with him, I was really surprised how they get along great.” I am the last one to talk smack about someone’s grammar (as you all know mine isn’t always well good!), but really?

“They co-parent very good. Corey gets the girls when he is supposed to and then Leah has them,” the paramour shares. Summer even discusses her first meeting with Corey’s ex-wife, recalling, “[Leah] was polite. She said ‘Hi.’ Jeremy and Corey talked a lot because they’re cool with each other. It wasn’t awkward or anything.” Teen Mom Swingers? MTV, are you paying attention?

Continuing her love fest for her — follow me — new boyfriend’s ex-wife’s maybe future fiance, Summer concludes that Jeremy is great because “the way he treats Leah and the girls is awesome.” Awe. Some. Summer, I think I hear a clock ticking… fourteen, thirteen, twelve…

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF SUMMER’S INTERVIEW? SHOULD SHE BE DISCUSSING LEAH’S BUSINESS? DO YOU BELIEVE THINGS BETWEEN THE COUPLES ARE AS CHUMMY AS SHE’S MAKING IT SOUND?

Last night MTV decided to punish grace us with thirty extra minutes of Teen Mom, which was a tad confusing as it was just thirty extra minutes of the same old, same old. It seemed unnecessary. But enough of that, the ninety-minute episode had Amber continuing her legal battles with Child Protective Services, more drama erupting between Maci and Ryan, Farrah’s family going to counseling, and Catelynn and Tyler vacationing on Dwight Shrute’s beet farm.

Once out of the clink, Amber breaks up with Clinton so she can focus on herself and Leah. She was apparently in jail for twenty-four hours. I know this because she must tell her friend that twenty-four times during a two minute phone conversation.

Catelynn has finished her requirements for graduation. Even though their ceremony is a few months away, she and Tyler are eager to find out how Carly’s adoptive parents will respond to the invitation to come see the pair accept their high school diplomas. One quick check of their ipad (thanks, MTV!) reveals that Carly’s adoptive parents have sent Catelynn an e-mail. They are very proud of the teen’s accomplishments, but they are unable to give an answer as to whether they will come to graduation. They need more time to think about it. Not defeated, Catelynn and Tyler can see what a difficult decision this must be for Carly’s adoptive parents. The couple hopes that they will come, but they understand if they choose not to attend.

Teen Mom star Maci Bookout is starting to have second thoughts about doing the popular MTV show according to a new interview with Life & Style magazine.

The reason? Maci, 19, worries about how the show is affecting her 2-year-old son Bentley Edwards. “I don’t want to steal his childhood,” says Maci who is worried about Bentley growing up under a harsh media microscope. “I don’t know if being on TV in elementary school would be difficult for him. I want him to have a normal life.”

Maci, who reportedly earns $60,000 per season, however adds that choosing to walk away from the fame show would be a very difficult decision because it has allowed her to provide for her son. “Without the show, I would have had to have a full-time job and be in school full-time, and I’d rarely get to spend time with Bentley,” Maci says. “It’s been difficult, but it’s also been a big blessing.”

As for the moment, Maci assures us Bentley’s not being affected by the show in any negative way. “He actually enjoys it,” she confesses. “Bentley thinks it’s cool to watch himself on TV and to have cameras around.”

In other Teen Mom news, Catelynn Lowell, you know, the one that sort of has it together and therefore no one really talks about her, is making recent headlines. The reason? It all has to do with an eviction.

According to TMZ Catelynn and her boyfriend Tyler Baltierra, who were shown moving into their 1st apartment together on the MTV show, were evicted from the same apartment for failing to pay rent! The 19-year-olds signed a lease on the apartment in Marine City, Michigan, in August, 2010 with court documents showing they stopped paying rent in December, 2010.

This caused their landlord to give them an eviction notice while also taking them to court. The landlord ending up winning big as the two had to give up their $450.00 security deposit, in addition to paying an additional $450 in back rent and moving out of the building.

The two of course did what any other 19-year-olds would do by taking to their twitter pages to give their side. “The landlord was an idiot and didn’t fix anything I payed [sic] every month that I lived there,” Catelynn tweeted. Tyler added, “Ok everyone I did not get evicted, I left bcuz the landlord was a lazy unprofessional man of business, and I refuse to put with it FYI.” Guess we’ll have to wait and see if the eviction drama makes the show.

A new episode of Teen Mom airs tonight on MTV at 10/9c.

TELL US – SHOULD LITTLE KIDS BE ON REALITY TV? PLUS THOUGHTS ON CATELYNN’S EVICTION?

I know y’all have been waiting all week to see what those crazy Teen Moms have been doing. That’s so easy! Farrah’s been modeling, Catelynn’s been searching for the perfect apartment with Tyler, Maci’s been talking out of both sides of her mouth, and Amber? Well, Amber’s been cussing up a storm.

Amber and Gary have been back together for a week, so of course the next rational step for the pair would be…wait for it…house hunting! On the way home, the broker calls and, whoopee!, the couple has been approved to buy a house thanks to MTV Gary’s steady job with home healthcare. Even Leah is dancing in her carseat. Gary’s mom comes over to hear the news and sincerely hopes that Amber and Gary’s relationship is on the right track. Leah claps when the two kiss. I’d be happy if I didn’t know how tragic this couple becomes.

Teen Mom Season 3

MTV has announced the third season of Teen Mom will premiere July, 5 at 10/9c!

All four original teen moms – Maci Bookout, Catelynn Lowell, Farrah Abraham, and Amber Portwood – return in what is being described as “their toughest year yet.” The press release adds, “the young parents face their biggest challenges yet. This season, the series goes deeper into the girls’ lives as they confront old wounds, struggle to further their education, face strained relationships and strive to give their children the best life possible.”

In the trailer below, we get to see more fighting between Amber and Gary plus Amber is scared when she discovers she might lose custody of Leah. Tyler and Catelynn wonder about their daughter and talk about moving in together, Maci struggles in school as with ex Ryan, and Farrah, who is having a tough time disciplining daughter Sophia, takes her to her deceased father’s grave.

And to ward off the backlash promote the new season, the MTV network rolled out a series of PSAs last month featuring the teen moms in which they talk about the importance of protection and preventing teen pregnancy. Those PSAs currently air on the MTV network.

The 2-minute Teen Mom Season 3 trailer is below!

TELL US – THOUGHTS ON THE TRAILER & NEW SEASON?

Following the huge success of season 2 of MTV’s Teen Mom, the NYPost is reporting that a third season is already in the works.

According to the Post, the show has averaged 2.8 million viewers per episode for MTV this season, while also bringing in young female viewers for the network. In fact, the finale episode last week brought in over 6 million viewers for MTV.

So what does this mean? It means we can expect a whole lot more from these popular teen mothers. MTV has reportedly already began filming season 3, and was on hand to film Amber Portwood and ex-fiance Gary Shirley’s recent visit to a Tennessee waterpark.

And though the all new season of 16 and Pregnant doesn’t kick off until Oct. 26, the MTV network has reportedly already handpicked a few of the girls from the upcoming season to appear on their own Teen Mom spinoff. “We’re always exploring new production ideas, but can’t confirm anything at this time,” said an MTV spokeswoman of the news.

Moving on to last night’s 2 hour reunion episode which brought us an emotional break-down by each of the teenage moms. Farrah Abraham broke down when discussing her mom’s abusive behavior towards her while her mom Debra Danielson also broke down telling her daughter she loved her in spite of everything that has taken place.

The biggest breakdown came from Amber, who revealed she also grew up witnessing abusive behavior by her mother. Dr. Drew Pinsky then explained to her that she was continuing the cycle of domestic violence by hitting Gary. Amber claimed she didn’t remember attacking Gary and cried as she admitted she’s is uncertain about what direction to go in her life.
