Lucky gal Teresa gets more time to spend with her doting husband Joe, but also more time to fret and worry over the possibility of winding up in prison! And that makes Teresa sad, because she doesn’t think they let you bring your shiny, sequined bikini collection to the slammer… She’s watched OITNB – she knows!
As the Real Housewives of New Jersey star faces the very real possibility that she could be headed for prison, Teresa admits she’s petrified and not coping well. “No one can ever prepare themselves to go to prison,” she acknowledges. “More importantly, how could I ever prepare myself to be away from my kids? It’s too terrifying for me to even think about.”
As the Giudices are less than a month away from their sentencing hearings both are embracing denial in a different way. For Joe Giudice he is using his precious time to party and possibly cheat!
It's all but certain that Joe will serve jail time related to their 2013 fraud indictment and instead of staying home to cherish the moments, he's out on the town and "ignoring" his family. And Teresa Giudice is not happy! You know what they say: psychotic wife, unhappy life!
“Teresa feels like Joe should be spending every minute that he can with her and their four girls, but he’s still doing his own thing, doing stuff with the guys and she’s getting really frustrated,” a source confided to Radar Online. "She doesn’t understand why he can’t just stay home with their girls and with her. She wants to know why he’s ignoring them." Well, would you want to spend time with Teresa?
Like her or love her, no one can deny that Teresa Giudice has had one helluva an interesting life! Between her felonious husband, to her feuding family, to her experiences on Real Housewives of New Jersey, to raising Milania! to her own experiences as a soon-to-be-con, she's lived through it.
Sources say Teresa, a savvy business woman despite her pre-school vocabulary, is "working furiously" to write a shocking tell-all about her scandalous life! “She’s been approached and offered big money for her tell-all," a source reveals to Radar Online. "There are a lot of publishers who want to get her locked down and make sure they have the book in-house.”
The couple is still hoping Teresa will be able to avoid jail time and in the meantime are putting on a happy front. With Real Housewives of New Jersey starting days after Teresa's sentence is handed down, one of Bravo's most recognizable stars has been suspiciously absent from any network events – even skipping the Upfronts. (Somewhere Melissa Gorga is doing a happy dance that she is finally number 1! Let's hope Poison didn't take any business tips from his brother-in-law. RHONJ season 9 – Can I borrow your leopard print prison jumpsuit when you're done with it?)
If twitter is an indicator of fact, the sisters-in-law have laid their battle axes down and are at least getting along-ish for the children. Our source confirms the SIL at war storyline is all but dead. Thank you Jesus! "Season 6 of RHONJ is nothing like the past few seasons," our source assures us!
"Teresa and Melissa were forced to play nice. Off camera, they have NO relationship. The kids do see each other and have interaction. But, that is about it," our source adds.
This weekTeresa Giudiceand Joe Giudice finally faced the inevitable and pled guilty for their 41 counts of federal fraud charges. Teresa has expressed her shame for what this has done to her daughters and vowed not to speak publicly about the matter again. Until Barbara Walters or Oprah comes a'callin' I'm sure!
Faced with an insurmountable indictment, the Real Housewives of New Jerseystar is subject to a sentence of 21 – 27 months but Judge Esther Salas has the final say in just how long – if any – Teresa will serve in prison. Perhaps Joe may just be headed to the slammer solo! Teresa's attorney explained to People that Teresa has a strategy for convincing the Judge why she should be permitted to remain a free lady.
"Teresa's plan is to explain to the court both how she ended up in this mess to begin with as well as how she has made a life for herself and the girls that will see them through it," her lawyer Henry Klingeman revealed. "We have the right to ask for probation and we are going to."
In case you haven't heard Teresa Giudice and Joe Giudice are in big time trouble and face a mounting 41-count federal indictment for several different types of fraud.
In light of her legal woes, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star, whose troubles will be featured on the upcoming season, insists she's staying strong and trying to make the best of a bad situation for the time being. “I can’t just be upset and crawl up in a ball and just go in a room and — and lock the door. I can’t. I’m a mom. I have four daughters,” Teresa tells ABC News.
Teresa does admit that it's hard to get through the day, however, and in private she is falling apart. "I would be lying to say I didn’t, you know, that’s not happening,” she shares. The hardest part, she says, is "my kids going through this." Should have thought of that BEFORE, you know, lying and defrauding! "I'm a role model for them," Teresa explains. A role model of what NOT to do!
Federal prosecutors are attempting to block Teresa Giudice's primary defense tactic to be tried separately from her husband Joe Giudice. Teresa and Joe's reasoning behind the petition for separate trials is a clause known as "marital privilege" which states spouses are not required to tell incriminating information against each other. Prosecutors argue that any voluntary testimony disbands that right.
In a 47 page memorandum presented to the judge on Wednesday, prosecutors argued against the Real Housewives of New Jersey stars' attempt for separate trials, stating: “Teresa and [Joe] appear to share the hope that each may have a better chance of acquittal in a separate trial … This, however, is not sufficient basis to sever two defendants charged as participants in the same conspiracy and fraudulent scheme.”
If you recall, the Giudices' alleged defense scheme is to make Joe take the fall by claiming Teresa didn't know what she was signing. Joe maintains that he wants a separate trial so he can testify in support of this notion that he was the "brains" (HAHAHAHAHA) behind the schemes while Teresa was an innocent victim.
