Teresa Giudice Wedding Dress

Bankruptcy, schmankruptcy! Teresa Giudice, the supposedly “cutting back” star of Real Housewives of New Jersey blew $25,100 on her “dream dress” to renew her vows with husband, Joe Giudice.

After 11-years of marriage, three of which they spent torturing us through the television, Teresa and Joe decided they needed to prove to America that, despite all the arguments and legal issues and embarrassing situations, they are still oh-so in love by staging an elaborate vow renewal complete with an over-the- top Pnina Tournai wedding gown.

In a new interview, Teresa explains why she picked the pricey gown! “On our wedding day, I wore a gown that looked like Princess Diana’s, she describes to In Touch Weekly. “This time I wanted a gown that cost a crazy amount of money!”

Teresa tried on dozens of gowns at Kleinfeld Bridal (of Say Yes To The Dress-fame) in NYC to find the perfect re-wedding dress, explaining: “It’s not so easy to find the perfect gown a second time!”

After an exhaustive search trying on a series of hideous, garish, multi-thousand dollar dresses including: a princess ballgown, because apparently her daughters refer to their mom as “Cinderella with brown hair,” a horrific prom-style mini dress she dubbed “so Madonna in the ‘80’s,” and feathered confection that made her “feel like a Muppett;” Teresa finally settled one so over-the-top it belongs in My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding!

“They didn’t used to make dresses like this,” Teresa exclaimed of her elaborate new gown. Oh, and did I mention it cost a whopping $25,100 and the veil cost $1,140? Minor details! “I wanted something no one else has,” she explained of her reasoning behind trying to upstage Dina Manzo’s million dollar wedding spending a zillion dollars on a duvet masquerading as a dress.

Wasn’t Teresa just quoted as saying: “The love you put into a party shows how extravagant it is.” Evidently that ideology didn’t deter her from blowing some people’s entire yearly salary on a dress – but she wouldn’t be Teresa if she assigned any reservation to her spending! “It took Joe’s breath away!” (after he looked at the price tag) she gushed describing her very un-wedding day.

Below are photos of the other dresses Teresa tried on that weren’t expensive enough didn’t quite make the cut!

In other Teresa news, she also discusses her upcoming make-up line and drink line in an all new interview. As was reported weeks ago, Teresa is working on her own cosmetic line called TG by Teresa Giudice.

“I am coming out with a cosmetic line with nail polish, lipgloss, and lipstick called TG by Teresa Giudice in October,” said Teresa to StarPulse. “It’s going to be in places like CVS and Wal-Mart. So, it’s like a buy one get one free, like you buy a nail polish and you get a lipgloss free. They are packaged together.”

Teresa doesn’t end there as she is also taking a page out of Bethenny Frankel’s book by coming out with her own all natural drink line called Fabellini. “I am also coming out with and formulated my own bellini, which is called Fabellini and it will be out around the holidays. It’s all natural. I am using a gold medal champagne with natural peach puree…It’s 12% alcohol too so it will totally get you buzzed!” Let’s hope Tre’s “all natural” drink doesn’t suffer the same fate as Bethenny’s!

Moving on to tonight’s all new episode of the RHONJ! On the 17th episode on this never ending season titled “Get To the Punta,” the Garden State ladies embark on a paradise getaway to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. Activities include a private cruise, but Kathy and Teresa soon make waves when they clash on the beach. A preview clip is below!

What do you think of Teresa’s wedding dress – hideous or elegant? Are you shocked that someone being sued for bankruptcy fraud would spend $25k on a wedding gown – to renew her vows!? Will you be buying Teresa’s products?
