The Real Housewives of DC

Days after former Bravo star/present famewhore Tareq Salahi filed a $50 million lawsuit against his ex and her current, Michaele Salahi and Neal Schon are now firing back at him!

The drama began last year after Michaele, former Real Housewives of DC star, decided to leave the “controlling” Tareq to runoff with Journey member Neal. In the $50 million lawsuit Tareq filed this week, he is claiming Neal is responsible for ruining some of the business endeavors he had with Michaele, by stealing his wife from him!

TMZ reported some of those deals included $150k to participate on the Australian version of DWTS as well as some other TV offers. But obviously like herpes and Paris Hilton white on rice, Michaele and Tareq are a package deal, and the TV networks didn’t want one without the other!

In an interview with E! Online, Michaele first defends her new man, stating he is NOT to blame for the demise of her marriage with Tareq. “It’s between Tareq and I, and the marriage is over because of the control I went through with him,” she says, adding that she felt very trapped in the marriage. “It really just needs to be, ‘This didn’t work, wish each other the best and move on with our lives.”

Neal also responded to Tareq’s claims that he tortured him with his penis by a) sending him a photo of it, and b) calling him to tell him “I was f–king your wife.”

The Journey guitarist makes it clear that he “never tormented” Tareq and when it comes to the $50 mil lawsuit figure, Neal reveals he “doesn’t have a clue” as to how Tareq came up with that number. “I could use an extra $50 [million] if somebody wants to lend it to me,” jokes Neal.

Neal adds that at the end of the day, all he really cares about is Michaele! “You can try to do whatever you wanna do, take every cent that I have, but you can’t take the love that I have for her,” he says. How romantical.

“Neal cares about me and loves me so much that he hated to see me hurting,” Michaele states. “And I’m grateful that he protects me and pulls me out of that hurt.”

And when it comes to Michaele’s gross participation in Journey’s new music video for their song “Resonate,” Tareq tells E! he is “hurt” by it. He adds: “. I am also very troubled that the rock band Journey is now promoting my wife’s adulterous affair with Neal Schon. I am especially upset and disappointed that they would release this video on Valentine’s Day. This day is meant to celebrate lifetime love and commitments, not celebrate those who cheat and abandon their marriages.”

Doesn’t appear to be an end in sight to this ongoing soap opera!

TELL US – THOUGHTS ON THE LATEST? DO YOU THINK TAREQ HAS A CASE AGAINST MICHAELE AND NEAL? IS IT TIME FOR HIM TO MOVE ON?

I don’t know about you, but I miss Michaele and Tareq Salahi. Best known for crashing a White House State Dinner in 2009, they can be blamed for the cancellation of the ill-fated Real Housewives of D.C., a franchise that was noted for its lack of drama and for the higher IQ points of their cast members. The remaining housewives refused to film if Michaele was kept on the cast, and Bravo, knowing that only she would bring the drama (and the LOLs) promptly went ahead and eliminated the show from their schedule.

Never daunted by anything, the Salahis continued their reign of fame-whoredom. She even made an appearance on Celebrity Rehab, until she was kicked out for not actually having an addiction. Since then, the pair have only been in the news due to Michale and Tareq’s divorce, which in their usual fashion, happened in a truly ridiculous manner.

Michaele left Tareq for Journey guitarist Neal Schon, a relationship she called a “fairy tale.” Let’s not forget she ran off with Neal, after Tareq reported her missing (after calling his pals at TMZ, of course), when in reality she had finally had enough of Tareq’s BS. Proving he’s made of nothing but class, Tareq found solace in the mesh arms of Michael Lohan.

STACIE TURNER AND HUBBY JASON HAVE SEPERATED

So, it was no surprise at all to see Tareq gracing the front page of TMZ yet again with a new attention-grabbing scheme. This time, he has filed a lawsuit against Neal for $50 million dollars. He’s been talking about this lawsuit for a while now, and has finally filed in it in his home state of Virginia.

I’m ashamed to say that the lawsuit (kinda) makes some sense: Tareq claims that he and Michaele had a few business and television offers on the table, which were no longer available to him after his divorce (the Salahis are a package deal, after all). While I believe the Salahis probably did have offers for things like opening up a 7-11 or celebrity wrestling, I don’t believe, as Tareq claims, that Dancing With The Stars was ever a realistic offer. But, still, Tareq kinda has a point here.

In a more disturbing piece of news, Tareq also alleges that Neal sent him a photo of his penis, and also called to let him know, “I’m f**king your wife.” Tareq called it, “a metaphorical slap in the face.”

Tareq is suing Neal for “emotional distress, conspiracy to defame, interfering with a contract and defamation” and as an extra-special bonus, he wants $450k in punitive damages.

We wish Tareq the best of luck in his penis picture lawsuit. Michaele on the other hand, seems pretty content being a rock-star girlfriend and the pair even showed off their true love in the following video for Journey‘s song, Resonate. I must warn you that you shouldn’t eat while watching the video. You might get sick or ruin your computer when you bust out laughing at the sight of Michaele walking down the beach pensively in sepia-tone. Or when you see her and Neal swapping spit on the sand. You’ve been warned!

Real Housewives of DC

An all new episode of the Real Housewives of DC coming up tonight.

The 3rd episode of the season is titled ‘Foreign Relations.’ It’s off to Paris! After a spontaneous decision by Michaele and Tareq to join Stacie and her husband in Europe, the couples start to bond. Meanwhile, controversy over D.C. etiquette has the housewives questioning Michaele’s role as a host for high profile events.

Cat is hard at work on her book and getting her cover ready, when disappointment strikes. The housewives gather at Mary’s fashion dinner to welcome a celebrity hairstylist, but with previous drama still lingering, things don’t go as planned.

The new episode airs tonight on Bravo at 9/8c.

In other DC news, the NYPost is reporting even more debt for Tareq and Michaele Salahi. According to the Post, six of 20 vendors who worked on the Salahis charity, America’s Polo Cup, last year told HBO the Salahis owe them sums ranging up to $25,000.

This comes up in a HBO’s “Real Sports” profile of their charity. “Do we owe people money? Sure, sure,” said Tareq before claiming that he’s waiting to collect his debts from others as well. “It’s a trickle-down effect,” added Tareq.

As for Michaele, she just wants to get back to the couple’s old life. “We’ve been the ‘it couple’ for the past decade,” Michaele tells Bernard Goldberg of HBO’s “Real Sports”

The NYPost is also reporting today that the premiere party the Salahis held two weeks ago, you know the one that was suppose to raise money for charity, brought in a huge zero amount for charity, confirms the event organizer. The organization said it was promised 40 percent of the profit but was recently told the packed, cash-bar event didn’t make any money.

As for why the packed event failed to bring in any money for charity, a rep for the Salahis claims they know nothing about this: “This was not a Salahi event. They were not privy to the operational and management aspects of this event, nor were they compensated for their appearance.” Allrighty.

As for the show so far, I thought it would be a boring franchise but I found myself really enjoying last week’s episode. Bravo did a great job with the casting. Will likely start doing recaps in about 2 weeks or so.

TELL US – DO THE SALAHIS OWE YOU MONEY? WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON TONIGHT’S EPISODE OF THE DC HOUSEWIVES?

Bravo housewives in Bikinis

Bethenny Frankel is showing off her post baby bikini body in the latest issue of Life&Style magazine.

The Real Housewives of NYC star was photographed on the beach rocking her blue bikini just 3 months after delivering daughter Bryn Hoppy. The magazine claims Bethenny’s photos were not retouched.

The 5’6 star is back to her pre-pregnancy weight of 118 pounds and shares her diet tips with the mag. “There’s been no real drastic anything,” Bethenny, 39, says. “I’ve really been eating, just not like a crazy person. Taste everything, eat nothing.”

Bethenny states she’s in a healthy place now and no longer does extreme diets. “I was owned by dieting and I hated myself,” she says. “I’ll never be extreme again, it just doesn’t work.”

In other Bravo housewives bikini news, Real Housewives of DC star Michaele Salahi is also showing off her bikini body. Why exactly? Well the 44-year-old reality star/alleged White House party crasher wants to prove to the world that she’s not anorexic!

“I’m not anorexic!” insists Michaele in the latest issue of InTouch Weekly. “I’m a skinny girl. I always was. I’ve never had an eating disorder in my life. And it hurts to be called anorexic.”

Michaele, who along with her husband Tareq, has been accused by numerous individuals and companies of owing them money also shares with the mag that she would like to get a boob job within the next 6 months. Excerpts from Michaele’s interview below -

How do you defend yourself?
Honestly, I can’t believe those women have so much time to devote to my weight. If they get out there and move, they will look like me and be thin, and it’ll all be good.

What’s your diet like?
I start the day with a hot chocolate and cereal — I love Lucky Charms or Kashi GoLean — then some fruit. I don’t really eat a lot in the middle of the day. I have an early dinner, which is always a salad, with plain chicken, grilled or broiled.

What about plastic surgery — would you ever do it?
Definitely. I would love to do a whole lot of Botox and maybe get collagen, too. I also think it would be great to have boobs. I’m a B [cup], so I’d get a C. I’m all for anything you can do to make yourself look and feel better.

When would you do it?
Hopefully, within the next six months. But my husband doesn’t want me to do my boobs!

The Real Housewives of DC

Though the ratings of the premiere episode of the Real Housewives of DC were nothing to write home about, a new episode comes our way tonight.

In the second episode of the season, titled Disloyal To The Party, Mary Schmidt Amons discovers that her adult daughter’s move back home creates various challenges. Elsewhere, Stacie highlights her down-home roots by serving up a soul-food dinner—but one guest stirs the pot. And Michaele takes Cat and Mary horseback riding.

Housewife Stacie Turner also did an interview with parade.com during which she shared why the DC cast stands out a bit from the other Housewives franchises.

“On the show we also get into local politics that have national implication, such as the issue of gay marriage,” says Stacie. “We are not afraid to weigh in. In one episode, we meet with Washington City Council member David Catania [the council's first openly gay member when he was elected in 1997], who is one of the biggest gay-rights and gay-marriage advocates.”

“Our cast is split politically,” Stacie adds. “I’m a Democrat and I believe that Mary [Mary Schmidt Amons] is an Independent. In the first episode, Cat [Catherine Ommanney] and I have a debate on Obama and Biden and their leadership and if they’re effective.”

A preview clip of tonight’s episode is below -

Tareq Salahi and Michaele Salahi

Bravo’s newest hotmess Michaele Salahi continues her reign of being in the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

UsWeekly is reporting, via the Washington Post, that the Real Housewives of DC star and her husband Tareq Salahi were presented with court papers from PR firm Brotman-Winter-Fried Communications during their private premire party on Thursday.

The lawsuit is regarding the more than $15,000 in unpaid fees the couple allegedly owes the PR firm from a 2008 polo event.

“It was an affidavit for debtors interrogatory,” Steve Winter, president of BWF, said. “It means they’ll have to appear in court to discuss their financial means — how they are capable of paying off the debt.”

In other Salahi news, RadarOnline is now reporting today that Michaele and her hubby are hoping to come out with a Barbie doll in the image of Michaele.

“The Salahis want to produce a Barbie Doll of Michaele in her red sari dress — the same outfit she wore when ‘gatecrashing’ the White House,” said one source, who was familiar with their grand plan. “They even, ambitiously, want to sell the rights of the doll to Mattel or another toy maker in the hopes it could generate worldwide sales and become the next Malibu Stacy.”

The Salahis business plan doesn’t end there as they also want to come out with a Halloween costume. “They also want to make Halloween costumes of themselves and sell the rights to a major store, such as Wal-Mart,” adds the source.

Coming out next month? The release of the couple’s new book, Cirque Du Salahi: Be Careful Who You Trust, which will reportedly detail their White House crashing fiasco.

And move over Teresa and Joe Giudice! There’s a newer and more morally bankrupt Bravo couple in town! While the Salahis pretend to be high class, rubbing elbows with the nation’s elite on the Bravo reality show, it seems they have a lot more in common with the Giudices from the Real Housewives of New Jersey.

Like Teresa and Joe, the Salahis also have a history with bankruptcy and state court filings. RadarOnline reports that in 2004, an Aston Martin, worth $150,000 and a $90,000 boat were repossessed, as part an auction. This was in addition to unpaid bills for limousine services, tens of thousands of dollars in credit card debt and even unpaid parking tickets.

Who else is having a forced auction on Aug 22?  None other than the Giudices of course!  Must say Bravo has a special gift for finding these types of people for their shows.

The Real Housewives of DC

A lot to report on the Real Housewives of DC today, so we’ll get right to it.

The official premiere party of the DC ladies was hosted on Thursday, but according to UsWeekly, Michaele Salahi and her husband Tareq Salahi decided to skip out on the party, much to the joy of her castmates it seems.

“I don’t want to see them; I don’t want to talk to them,” said the outspoken Catherine Ommanney. “I don’t want to be associated with them.”

Catherine even added that she would not return for another season of the show if the Salahis signed on. “Absolutely, categorically, no,” she told US. “I’ll have to have therapy the rest of my life to get over being associated with her.”

Housewife Lynda Erkiletian added, “I was very happy to hear that they had their own premiere party and would be attending that and not torturing us any more than they have in the past.”  Other housewife Mary Schmidt Amons has also had it with the Salahis, saying: “I’ve really have had enough. The last two days have been a challenge, just to deal with the trauma of The View, overall.”

Radar Online is also reporting that the Salahis are charging up to $500 a ticket for the premiere party they are hosting. An organizer for the party however adds that proceeds from the event will be going to the Salahis’ bank account charity.

Michaele Salahi and Whoopi Goldberg

In other NJ news, RadarOnline is reporting that Michaele is considering suing Whoopi Goldberg and The View talk show for defamation.

Lawyer for the Salahis, Lisa Bloom, who also happens to be the daughter of famed attorney Gloria Allred, told Radar that the attention-seeking couple are considering their legal options.  “All options are open right now,” said Lisa when asked if the Salahis will take legal action against the show.

Lisa believes Michaele was defamed after being called a ‘gatecrasher’ five times during her segment. Adding that producers of the show turned on the applause light for the audience when the show’s Sherri Shepherd told Michaele that “you should be in jail.”

“I believe she was defamed,” Lisa told Radar. “My client is not a criminal and she has not been charged by anybody for any crime.”

Ratings – And finally, the ratings for the premiere of the DC housewives is out and let’s just say the ratings were so-so.  The show pulled in a mere 1.6 million viewers, in comparison to last year’s premiere of the Real Housewives of New Jersey which pulled in 1.7 million viewers back then.

The DC figure is even more lackluster when you add in the amount of publicity the show received. The finale of Bethenny Getting Married also drew drew 1.9 million total viewers, just above the 1.8 million season average.

real-housewives-of-new-jersey

Bravo announced today that The Real Housewives of New Jersey will be returning for a second season in 2010.

The first season of The NJ Housewives was one of the highest-rated “Real Housewives” series in all demos, averaging 2.55 million total viewers.

Bravo however did not announce which of the women from the first season — Danielle Staub , Dina Manzo, Jacqueline Laurita, Teresa Giudice and Caroline Manzo — will be back. There are have been reports that Dina has no interest in doing a 2nd season.

Also coming in 2010 is the highly anticipated The Real Housewives of D.C. The Washington D.C. franshice will be the network’s fifth Housewives franchise.

The D.C. version will focus on women who have influence in Washington culture, whether it’s through political galas, fundraisers, or other society events.
