The finale of Bravo’sThe Real Housewives of New Jersey just finished airing, in what is arguably the most dramatic episode ever of The Real Housewives franchise.
Thoughts on this episode -
1) I was very impressed with Caroline trying to make some peace, and giving Danielle a chance to speak her mind.
2) Danielle, oh Danielle, had absolutely no business bringing that book to the dinner table. Just when you start to feel sorry for her, she pulls this stunt. It was good to see her attempt to stand up for herself, but she chose the wrong place and time.
3) Very surprised to see Jacqueline stand up to Dina, and defend Danielle. I choose to believe Jacqueline on this one. Dina comes across as the lying type. I believe Caroline was lying to protect her little sister.
4) Teresa was way out of line for the table flipping. Very unnecessary and just way over the top.
5) It was great seeing Jacqueline’s husband and brother to Caroline & Dina, Chris, speaking some sense at the end. He said it best when he said – “You’re all acting like a bunch of fools.”
6) With that said, I’m ready for season two. Jacqueline continues to remain my favorite. Caroline impressed me with this finale.
During the last episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Teresa Giudice was the center of attention. The mom of three who is expecting her 4th child in September decided to undergo a breast augmentation on the show after talking about her “bubbie” issues all season. Above is a picture of a very pregnant Teresa with her new boobies.
In a recent interview, a cheerful Giudice explained why she got plastic surgery, and her issues with costar Danielle Staub.
Below are excerpts from the interview-
Why did you want to have the surgery?
Did you see the shot with the leopard bathing suit? Does that answer your question? I was confident before. The only problem I had was in bathing suits. I always had to get them padded. I liked [my breasts] being little, but after I breastfed [my three daughters], they completely went away. It’s not like I wanted big boobs or anything. I wanted to be a little bit fuller. I just did it for myself.
On last week’s show you had some strong opinions about Danielle’s past. How did you find out about the book and what were your concerns?
Dina and Caroline were the ones who let me know — and I was so freaked out about it. Like so freaked out because I have little ones. Mostly, I was freaking out because of the kidnapping [allegations]. I was like, “Who is this girl? She’s been around my kids.” I swear I was so freaked out. I didn’t even want to talk to her after that.
When you got the call from Steve saying he was bringing another woman to your house did you ever think of telling Danielle?
I wasn’t going to tell her because I wasn’t going to get involved. Steve was my husband’s friend. Not that I feel loyal to him or anything. I’d just rather stay out of it. Danielle’s a big girl; she can handle herself. But just one comment I’ve got to make: Getting involved with a 26-year-old and she’s 47, I mean, I think says it all.
Are you happy with how you’ve been portrayed on the show?
There’s little things here and there which, of course, I have no control over.
Care to be more specific?
About the [scene where I spent lots of] cash. That was just a small deposit. That was not $120,000 [in cash]. I don’t want people thinking I have that kind of cash. That’s ridiculous and that’s not safe anyway. And of course with the whole stage mom thing. But over time, I think people will see that it’s what Gia wants to do, and I’m just being the supportive mom. I think [Real Housewives of New York City star] Bethenny [Frankel] wrote I was living [vicariously] through Gia. I’m so not doing that — and Bethenny, mind your business. Stay on this side of the bridge!
Below is the full article with the part about Danielle highlighted. Special thanks to our reader Marie for sending this to us.
“A man held for $25,000 ransom in June was arrested Thursday on federal narcotics charges involving one of his alleged abductors, the FBI said.
Carmen Christopher Centolella, 27, of Hobe Sound, surrendered without incident Jupiter based on a two-count indictment returned Aug. 28 by a federal grand jury in Miami.
One of Centolella’s alleged captors, Daniel Claudio Aguilar, 23, of 3132 NW 74th St., was also charged in the same indictment. Aguilar is being held in the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Southwest Dade while he awaits trial on an extortion charge stemming from Centolella’s alleged abduction.
Aguilar and Centolella were charged with conspiracy to possess and possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
“The indictment alleges he was involved with Aguilar prior to the kidnapping,” said FBI spokesman Paul Miller.
Centolella was rescued by a SWAT team on June 23 after authorities said he was abducted two days earlier in an apparent dispute over a debt he owed Aguilar and two others holding him.
The two other people allegedly involved in the ransom attempt were Rogers Jones Jr., 22, of 2325 NW 59th St. and Beverly Ann Merrill, 23, 2629 S. Bayshore Dr.
All three were charged with extortion for making interstate ransom calls to Centolella’s father in Utica, N.Y. Thomas Centolella, retired manager of a Utica shoe store, reported the crime.
It was not clear at the time if the transaction was narcotics-related, but the FBI found explosives, 10 kilos of cocaine and scales in the kitchen at 8265 SW 45th St., where Centolella had been held. The house was rented by Aguilar.
Centolella was questioned and released following the June incident.”
The Real Housewives of New Jerseystar, Danielle Staub, seems to be the talk of the town. The New York housewives have all come out to give their opinions on her sordid past. Danielle, surprisingly gets sympathy from most of the housewives with the exception of LuAnn.
Here’s what some of the other Bravo housewives had to say regarding Danielle’s past -
Kelly Bensimon – “Everybody deserves a second chance,” Kelly told PEOPLE. “If you’ve made a mistake in life, you have two choices, you can either sit in the Lazy-Boy and eat popcorn and talk about it, or you can get out and do something fun. And I think that’s what she’s doing. I like her courage.”
Bethenny Frankel – “It isn’t pretty, but it was 24 years ago. I can’t even tell you all of the things I was doing 24 years ago that I shouldn’t have. Judging by her girls, I’d sooner have her babysit my kid then some of these other women. Granted, she was a moron for not outing herself. She is in fact on a reality show, but otherwise, everyone has a past and she isn’t exactly proud of hers. It isn’t anyone’s business.”
Jill Zarin – “This is something that happened a long time ago. It’s dead and buried in her real life, and it should never have been brought up,” Jill said. “But because she’s on a reality show, if you’ve been arrested and have a record, it’s going to come out. If you’re divorced, it’s going to come out. If you’ve lied about things, it’s going to come out. I think she should have known that.”
Alex McCord - Alex who is no stranger to past skeletons (she had some nude photos of her leaked last year) had this to say - “I hope she knew that when you go on a reality show, everything that ever happened in your past is going to come straight up.”
Simon Van Kempen – Honorable housewife Simon had this to say, “She made some mistakes, but she was very young. It was the innocence of youth,” he said. “Franklin Lakes, N.J., is thirty miles from where we’re standing. But it could be 300 — 3,000 miles. It’s such a different show than New York.”
LuAnn de Lesseps – The Cuntess Countess however had some not so nice words to say, “She walked up to me at a Reality Cares party and said, ‘Countess, we have to talk.’ And I looked at her and said, ‘About what? What could we possibly have to talk about?’ But maybe she wanted my advice,” said LuAnn, who is splitting from her husband. “In retrospect, I think maybe she really needed to talk to me. Maybe she was going to ask me who my lawyer is. I think if I had that kind of a past, an arrest, if I had any skeletons in my closet, I don’t think I’d be on a reality show.”
According to several reports, Danielle was in her early twenties when she committed these “atrocities,” so does she deserve a second chance? Would you go on a reality show if you had these type of skeletons in your past?
The Real Housewives of New Jersey’sCaroline Manzo is speaking out on the revelations of Danielle Staub’s past. Last night’s episode showed Caroline and Dina Manzo dropping a bombshell: Their family discovered a book, Cop Without a Badge, that alleges that Danielle was arrested for extortion and involved with a kidnapping plot, drugs and stripping.
Caroline discusses her role in the revelation, and her thoughts on the allegations in her new interview. Below are some excepts -
Let’s talk about this book. You mentioned your niece found it. What’s the backstory?
This is something that literally fell into our laps. We had no reason to believe that Danielle was somebody other than [who] she represented herself to be. And my niece did tell us about it. When something this explosive falls into your lap, for anyone to just dismiss it would be foolish. It’s beyond catty gossip. There are a lot of facets to this story that can affect us in a negative way.
What do you mean by that? Were you concerned with your reputation if you associated with her?
I don’t care about reputation. What happened in the past is her business. I certainly don’t judge anybody. It was a safety concern. Nothing more.
You mean you don’t trust Danielle around young children?
Who would? Come on, let’s think about it: Would you put your child in a situation like that? Until we know the truth, you have to just act reasonably.
Did you tell Jacqueline flat-out to end her friendship with Danielle?
It seems to be the image that we don’t allow her to [know] outsiders and other friends. That’s so not true. However, Jacqueline looks at the world through rose-colored glasses. Something like this, you have to look at the situation and say, “I understand you want to give this person the benefit of the doubt, and I commend you for that. However, please, please look at this with your eyes wide open.” And that’s just what we did.
As a mother, what are your thoughts about Danielle putting herself on a reality show knowing that her daughters will have to face this?
That’s Danielle’s issue. I’m not going to tell anybody else how to parent. We certainly have vast differences in our parenting decisions. I just hope that [her] children can get past this because they’re the ones who suffer.
I can personally understand why Caroline and Dina might have felt the need to “investigate” Danielle’s past, but I do not agree with them feeling the need to alert the whole town about the book – if they did indeed do that as alleged by Danielle.
Tell Us – What Are Your Thoughts Regarding Last Night’s Episode?
The Real Housewives of NJ’sDanielle Staub is finally breaking her silence on her criminal past. You know, the one that includes drugs, stripping, prostitution, kidnapping, Colombian cartels and a mugshot to boot of course. (The above photo is of Danielle and a very pregnant Teresa taken this week as they leave a NY studio, interesting.)
Danielle appeared on the Today show this morning along with the other NJ housewives – Caroline and Dina Manzo, and a pregnant Teresa Giudice. When asked about her past, Danielle claimed everything would be cleared up in time.
“I can only touch on [the rumors],” Danielle, 46, said on the show. “I can just say, it’s out there and it will be addressed. And I will definitely touch on all the subjects that are crucially in need of touching on at the time when the time is right.” She continued, “Everybody has someone in their past or present that would like to say embellished, nasty things about them.”
Umm okay then Danielle. It’s a simple yes or no as to whether or not you were a prostitute/stripper/kidnapper. Jacquelinewas not able to make an appearance on the show due to her pregnancy, as she is due any day now.
A classy picture of Danielle autographing the rear of a random guy after the jump-
After all the drama and interesting findings on Real Housewife Danielle Staub, no one is more pleased than Kevin Maher with all the publicity. Maher is the subject of the book, “Cop Without A Badge” that supposedly tells Danielle’s biography as a stripper, drug dealer’s girlfriend and her involvement in a kidnapping scheme. Not only did Danielle date Kevin but report says they might have gotten married.
Maher has reportedly sold his story to star magazine and is currently negotiating to get the book re-released. I also hear that the book is flying off the shelves. I did my own search and you can get it on Amazon.
If all these allegations are true, do you think Danielle should be open about her past? Besides, can this Maher guy be trusted? What are your thoughts?
A lot of information has come out recently about NJ Housewives’ Danielle Staub. People gave a great summary of all allegations about Danielle from the book, Cop Without A Badge. The above mugshot also came from the book. All of the information below comes directly from this book. The story is told by Kevin Maher, an ex criminal who also happens to be Danielle’s ex.
1) The book reveals Danielle, 46, as a woman named Beverly Merrill, a one-time stripper with a criminal past.
2) Felon-turned-FBI informant named, Kevin Maher, says he met Danielle at a drug party in Miami in the ’80s.
3) Their meeting came after she was released on $10,000 bail following an arrest on charges that she was involved in the kidnapping of a man who owed her drug dealer friend money.
4) This led to Danielle and her dealer friend being caught by police and charged with extortion, kidnapping and possession after they failed to collect a ransom from their victim’s father.
5) Kevin Maher used his police connections to help get Danielle get a deal. She pleaded guilty only to the charge of extortion and was sentenced to five years probation.
6) Kevin and Danielle would go on to date and get married. The two would wound up separating as Kevin was still married to another woman, and did not like the fact that Danielle was still stripping.
7) Danielle’s real name is Beverly Merrill, but she went by the name Danielle when stripping. I’m guessing she later decided her stripper name was best once this book came out.
The book also exposes more secrets about Danielle’s aversion to wearing underwear, her drug use and sleeping with more than 1,000 men.
The book also includes more sensational reports about Merrill’s aversion to wearing underwear, her drug use and sleeping with more than 1,000 men.
Sighs, what are my thoughts on Danielle? I think Bethenny Frankel summed it up best when she blogged, “Danielle is the fascinating character with her many levels. She seems desperate and tragic, yet she is really upfront and honest which lessens the desire to loathe her.”
