Even though we’re pretty sure no one actually watched The Pauly D Project, apparently someone did because Pauly’s road manager, Biggie, has decided to take off on his own. Wetpaint reports that since appearing on the show, Biggie has received many DJing offers of his own and has decided to stop living his dreams through Pauly and pursue his own career. But, no worries, the pair are still BFFs. The other members of Pauly’s crew, JROC, Ryan and Jerry show no signs of leaving the fold.
Now that the cast of Jersey Shore is facing what may be their final season at the shore house, the cast looks like they’re all going forward with new ways to stay relevant. Because once the show is over, their “fans” will all move on to the next train wreck.
The Situation, who recently performed a stint in rehab, announced a new pranking series that premiered earlier this week. The classy show is looking for viewers to submit videos based on suggestions like “Best Hook Up with a Grenade” or “Loudest Fart in a Public Place.” This makes Jersey Shore look like Mad Men. The Situation says he’s happy to be free to be as gross as he wants to be, “I’m excited to work in an uncensored environment and see where the show takes me.”
Vinny Guadagnino, who famously left the show early last season due to anxiety, made good on his threat to publish a self-help book. Control the Crazy: My Plan to Stop Stressing, Avoid Drama and Maintain Your Inner Cooldropped this week. Here is one suggestion on how to work on anxiety that requires no therapy or medication: stay out of stressful environments, like say, reality show filming. Vinny will also tour the country and speak to college kids about anxiety disorder. I also have Generalized Anxiety Disorder and am always happy to see a public person speak out about this, but it still feels a bit fake. On the other hand, if it gets anyone out there into treatment and makes them feel less alone, then I’m glad Vinny is doing this.
Finally, another change for our pregnant guidette, Snooki. Not only has he had to give up her legendary binge drinking now that she’s pregnant, but Snooki had to give up her true love: tanning! Snooki posted photos on her Twitter that showed off what might actually be her natural hue and it’s more China Doll than Lindsay Lohan orange. Dare I say she looks cuter with less tanning? It doesn’t matter, because she’ll likely go back once the baby is born.

Jersey Shore star Pauly D’s GTL routine today = gym, tan, lawsuit. Pauly D’s former talent agency, ICM, is suing him for their cut of his salary.
Pauly dropped the agency and moved over to WME, but ICM claims that Pauly still owes them their ten percent–$370,000–for the past two season of the show.
The lawsuit isn’t shocking; it happens all the time in Hollywood. But what is shocking to me, is how much the cast is making! In two seasons, Paulyraked in almost $4 million between his salary, bonuses and other merchandising.
This is why I got a little bored with Jersey Shore after the first two seasons. At first, it was fun because they were these broke roommates taking jobs at random shops down the Shore. Their popularity skyrocketed and suddenly they were raking in HUGE money for appearances and got hefty raises from MTV. After that, I had a hard time buying into this “regular working class” party house at the shore premise, knowing they were actually making millions.
In other Shore news, recently rehabbed housemate, The Situation, is being encouraged to bring along a sober coach when he returns to Seaside next season!
A source shared with Radar Online that “doctors at Cirque Lodge advised him that he should have a sober living companion with him at all times when he is in Seaside Heights. The sober living companion would have to move into the Shore house along with the other cast members. The companion wouldn’t need, nor want to appear on camera, but putting Mike back into that world without a strong support system around him is asking for trouble. Mike doesn’t think he needs someone to be with him and essentially be a babysitter, and this has his doctors extremely concerned for his sobriety and recovery.”
I’m almost disappointed that the sober coach most likely will not appear on the show. The storyline possibilities are endless! MTV’s scriptwriters producers should rethink that one!
In all seriousness, I’m curious to see how this plays out once filming starts. Will MTV make light of his sobriety attempt and turn into drama for the show? Or will they take the high road and truly try to help him stay clean?
In other MTV news, I’m heading up a letter writing campaign. MTV has scarred me for life and ruined my beloved ‘Titanic’. Take a look at the nude Situation below. As a friend, I’m warning you: You can’t unsee it once you’ve pressed play!
This week’s print edition of Reality Weekly claims that The Situation is in a spiral and it’s all taking a toll on him, despite his seeking helping at the Cirque Lodge in Utah. A friend tells the magazine that “Mike projects this image that he’s in love with himself, but inside, he’s really fragile and insecure. He has a really dark side and a lot of demons, which is why he developed a problem with addictions”.
The friend claims that Mike has to drink in order to feel comfortable in social settings and that he beds multiple women in an attempt to boost his fragile ego. “He gets such an ego boost if a woman wants to sleep with him. He’s always trying to top himself; how many girls he can have at once, how many Miss Hawaiian Tropic models he can sleep with, how many different girls he can have in one day. ”
In what seemed like the briefest rehab stint in recorded history,The Situation checked out of the swanky Cirque Lodge treatment center in Utah yesterday!
TMZ reports that The Situation was seeking help to “get control of a prescription medication problem” he had “due to exhaustion,” and entered the facility on March 20th where he spent a mere 14-days!
Upon getting out of rehab, the Jersey Shore star was spotted at nearby airport looking ecstatic and even took a photo with a fan before boarding his flight. The photo is below!
Mike is due to begin filming the 300th season of Jersey Shore very soon! Which is worrisome, as reality television and healthy behavior do not seem like a good mix! No word on Mike’s post-rehab plans just yet!
UPDATE: The Situation took to his Facebook Page to let fans know he’s “back stronger and better than ever!”
“The Situation is home!! I just want to thank everyone for their support and words of encouragement,” he added. So when is he getting treatment for referring to himself in the third person?
THOUGHTS – WAS MIKE’S REHAB STAY LONG ENOUGH? SHOULD HE RETURN TO REALITY TV?

A source tells them that “Mike was taking unbelievable amounts of Dilaudid along with Xanax and Ambien. Mike was taking about 20-30 pills a day which easily could have killed him. Mike is very lucky that he didn’t overdose and die, because the amount of prescription drugs was that high and deadly. It was very easy for Mike to get the prescription drugs, and he got them from more than one doctor. It’s very likely that his physicians were unaware that he was taking all three of the prescription drugs. Mike would also drink alcohol while he was taking the pills which obviously could have had a horrible outcome for him. Everyone around him is hopeful he will stay sober once he leaves Cirque Lodge.”
Another friend shared that Mike had “become dependent on prescription pills to counter-act other his hard partying lifestyle, which included illegal substances. Mike was in a vicious cycle of not sleeping because of the illegal substances that he was taking, so he began using prescription pills to help him sleep. Mike would refer to the prescriptions pills as ‘downers.’ The good news is that he was the one that wanted to get help and checked into rehab. Hopefully with the proper treatment, Mike will be able to lead a sober life.”
TMZ is reporting that MTV has known since the beginning of season TWO that Mike had some serious drinking problems and tried to force him to get help. They threatened several times to replace him and each time he got his act together enough that they kept him on. Now, they’re worried about the opposite problem – what if he’s too sober and it becomes “Jersey Snore”? Especially now with Snooki’s pregnancy added in there. Even though MTV has said they’re not replacing the cast, sources tell TMZ they ARE on the hunt for replacements.
On a much lighter note, Snooki shared this adorable shot of her and baby-daddy-turned-fiance Jionni LaValle. I’m not sure if it’s meant to be their “official” engagement photo, but they are showing off Snooki’s new rock. They really are an adorable couple. I wonder if MTV will shoot a spinoff focused on these two after their baby is born. Snooki learning to change diapers and dealing with all that a new baby brings could certainly make for some quality entertainment.
After a lackluster fifth season with decent ratings, a few folks expected Jersey Shore to ride off into the shore sunset. However, the show still dominates its time slot on Thursday nights and MTV decided to bring the show back for the sixth time. Another factor in MTV’s decision to take us to the shore again was likely the continuing media blitz on Snooki‘s recently announced pregnancy, now in its fourth month.
Last week, news leaked that The Situationhad entered rehab for a prescription drug problem and alcohol addiction. One might think pregnancy and addiction issues would prevent cast mates from appearing, but as it turns out, MTV expects all cast members to return.
However before you think Jersey Shore will turn into a new version of Sober House, TMZ is reporting that MTV plans on “phasing out” Snooki and The Situation and replacing them with “newer, wilder castmates.” In other words, replacing them with people who will get drunk at work and still pee on themselves at Karma.
Both castmates will allegedly receive limited screen time. While, I might believe this rumor in Snooki’s case (she is already filming her spin-off and a pregnant Snooki hanging out at the ramshackle shore house might be too weird for viewers), the Situation may insist on returning full-time. A new report on RadarOnline alleges that he does not plan on giving up his lucrative club appearances after he finishes up his current rehab stay.
It’s the late nights that may be contributing to Mike’s problems. A source describes his problem, “Mike was in a vicious cycle of not sleeping because of the illegal substances that he was taking, so he began using prescription pills to help him sleep.” This is consistent with the rumors that have persisted throughout the years of Mike using cocaine. Per the insider, Mike was the one that checked himself in, saying “The good news is that he was the one that wanted to get help and checked into rehab. Hopefully with the proper treatment, Mike will be able to lead a sober life.”
Unfortunately, his definition of “sober life” includes hanging out at clubs. An insider says, “Mike doesn’t want to give up his paid club promotional appearances: he loves the attention that he gets from the ladies and the money is great.” Who can blame him? It would be hard for anyone to give that up. The source continues, “Mike leads a very expensive life and he doesn’t want his lifestyle to suffer because of his decision to go to rehab. He is very upset that stint in rehab has become public knowledge, because he doesn’t want it to affect his bottom line. Mike’s brother handles his club appearances and he has been telling club managers that Mike has no plans on giving up the nightlife.”
This is Mike’s second attempt at going sober. Previously, he had been to a hospital in Florida before his début on Jersey Shore. Since the first try didn’t work, it’s sad to hear that Mike might not be willing to make the lifestyle changes to sustain his sobriety, like leaving the party atmosphere of the shore house and avoiding night clubs.
His father tells Radar, “For me, after years of dealing with his addiction, years of dealing with all the bulls**t, this wasn’t a 16-year-old kid. The guy was a 27-year-old man. I was just hoping he would be able to stand up.”

TELL US: DO YOU THINK THE SHOW WILL SUFFER WITH LESS SNOOKI AND SITUATION? DO YOU THINK MIKE WILL STAY SOBER?
Last night was the last straw of the latest season of Jersey Shore, culminating in a snooze fest reunion. The season’s highlights are recapped, and everyone laughs at light-hearted jokes about GTL and Deena’s tornado. Mike and Snooki are the first two in the hot seat to discuss the did-they-or-didn’t-they hook up. This reunion was clearly filmed pre-Situation rehab.
The gang watches clips showing how Mike plotted his diabolical plan which was often thwarted in Seaside Heights. Mike claims he didn’t want to be painted as a liar. After the footage, Snooki and Mike are screaming at each other on the reunion sofa. Again, does she protest too much? Rawn is thrilled that they are the new Ronnie and Sam. JWoww stands up for Snooki from the rafters. Rawn reveals that the angrier Nicole appears, the guiltier she looks.
Rawn goes on a roid rage begging them to drop it. Snooki claims that if she was going to hook up with a roommate, it wouldn’t be Mike, it would be Vin, and she’s been there, done that. Literally. Vinny looks uncomfortable. Pauly chimes in, saying that if he had been Jionni, Mike would still be swallowing his teeth. He believes Jionni was too passive. Basically nothing is resolved…no love lost between Snookster and the Sitch.
