Kate Gosselin opens up about her feelings during a speaking engagement this weekend and her appearance on The View.

At Ohio’s second annual Cleveland Women’s Show on Friday, the reality mom of eight, 34, told a crowd, “I’ve lost a lot of control in my life.”

Kate continues, “At the beginning of all of this, you’ve heard me say before, I didn’t want fans gawking, I didn’t want people gawking, I just wanted to be myself, my family.” She however went on to thank her supporters, “I have learned, I appreciate your support, I need you, I love you, thank you.”

The Jon & Kate Plus 8 mom also made her anticipated appearance on The View as a guest host on Monday. When asked about her feelings towards Jon Gosselin bringing his new girlfriend around the kids, Kate admits it is tough. “I’m not going to lie, it’s difficult, this is all difficult” says Kate. She however made it clear that she intends to take the high road, saying – “For the sake of my children, I am going to continue taking the high road.”

Kate went on to admit having a recent meltdown, “I melted down over the weekend in the privacy of my own home.”

In other news, USWeekly is reporting Jon and girlfriend Hailey Glassman were spotted was all over NYC Sunday night celebrating the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

Jon was spotted at an after-party at hotspot Avenue and also at a bash at the Hotel on Rivington in NYC’s hip Lower East side.

Lauren Conrad and Spencer Pratt

First it was Kristin Cavallari all but confirming that MTV’s The Hills is fake. Now it’s Lauren Conrad’s turn. Lauren appeared on the View yesterday, and surprisingly admitted that the infamous apology phone call she received from Spencer Pratt was fake. She said she was not on the other line for that phone call.

Lauren was asked by Elisabeth Hasselbeck, “Did you feel like it was a sincere apology when it came from him?” Lauren smiled, paused and rolled her eyes before answering – “To be perfectly honest, I wasn’t on the other end of that call,” Conrad replied. “That was filmed, and I wasn’t on the other end. So I didn’t even know about it until [it was on TV]. So, no, I didn’t get an apology. He lied.”

So why did she agree to go to their wedding if she never got an apology?

“It’s hard to understand now, but a long time ago — years ago — we moved here together, and we were best friends, and we used to say, ‘Some day at our wedding….,’” Conrad said. “I just felt like it was a few hours of my time, and as much as I didn’t agree with it, I might some day regret not doing it.”

So basically Spencer never apologized for spreading those sex tape rumors. MTV should just go ahead and call this show a soap opera instead of a reality show. Are people still watching this show? I pretty much stopped watching a few seasons back.
