I hate the reminders that our favorite reality stars are human just like us. We get so invested in their lives, that it is always sad when bad news strikes. Of course, for the family of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, it's the hardships that seem to make them stronger.
Once again, TLC promotesBreaking Amish as a series about five sheltered young adults, four Amish and one Mennonite, who leave their communities to experience life beyond the church. Only this time the cast visits Los Angeles instead of New York City.
TLCpromises, "This season features brighter skies – and darker secrets – as the cast leave their homes and venture west to live together, experiencing a lot of fake firsts along the way." Bright lights! Door knobs! Airplane! Gag me!
"With an all-new cast and a different, vibrant city, Breaking Amish: LA opens the door to these fascinating lives and the journeys they all embark on as they explore this new world in search of who they want to be – at the risk of losing everything they've ever had."
With the new season of HCHBB right around the corner, TLC has a brand new way for fans to be part of the action. As the girls fart and burp their way through a day filled with June's forklift foot and infamous 'sketti, now you can be a part of the aroma-filled action. Still reading without gagging? Just wait…
I know what you're all thinking, and we're totally on the same page. It's been far too long since we've had the pleasure of watching Kody Brown's hair blow in the wind as he traverses the roads of Nevada in his nifty convertible.
How did you celebrate Cinco de Mayo yesterday? Did you enjoy some delicious food and perhaps a margarita or three? I'll tell you what I didn't do. I didn't get invited to McIntyre, Georgia to see Mama June Shannon walk down the aisle to an awaiting Sugar Bear, and that makes me terribly sad…but happy for them. #conflicted
While there is no official word as to whether Alana Thompson's parents actually got married or if it was just a commitment ceremony, the Here Comes Honey Boo Boo family celebrated in a big way…complete with camouflage, barbeque, and hopefully lots of 'sketti. Not surprisingly, TLC cameras were on hand to capture the exciting event.
Oh, Welcome to Myrtle Manor–you keep making South Carolina proud! The Learning Channel show follows the inhabitants of a Southern trailer park, and the cast is determined to make a name for themselves…maybe not through ratings, but through arrests.
In the last week, three of the cast mates were popped by the po-po with two being arrested over the weekend. Now two of the Myrtle Manor residents are facing DUI charges while another faces allegations of sexual acts with a minor. Oh goodness!
Breaking Amish was a surprise hit for TLC last year and this year it will return two-fold!
The show which chronicled five Amish youth as they navigated life away from their families and their reclusive community proved to be riveting and compelling. As a result the network has renewed the show and is featuring a spinoff of the original series called "Breaking Amish: A Brave New World."
Breaking Amish: Brave New World will all five of the original characters. The show will document their move to a larger and more modern Amish community in Sarasota, FL in an effort to start over while still remaining connected to their roots says The Hollywood Reporter.
As if they weren't enough for 'Merica to handle, Alana Thompson and her family are all set to internationally dominate all things deer statutes, four-wheelers, and forklift foot. June Shannon, Sugar Bear, and Uncle Poodle are going to have people all over the world talking about the small town of McIntyre, Georgia…heck, the South in general. Here Comes Honey Boo Boo is going global! Frightening, huh?
I am a huge fan of the show–and a proud Southerner–but gracious, this is a lot to digest (and not just because I had 'sketti for dinner. Kidding–gag!). On one hand, I'm happy for the family and their successes. However, I hope that people in other parts of the world don't assume we're all eating pigs feet and going dumpster diving…not that there's anything wrong with those things!
