We resume with Basketball Wives where we seem to every week…with a fight involving Evelyn Lozada. Shoeless (we all know what that means, don’t we Kenya Bell?), she steps across the table to get to Jenn Williams who has just been smacked by her friend Nia. Evelyn takes a flying leap off the table into the arms of a waiting production team bouncer. I would ask when will these ladies ever learn, but I’m pretty sure the answer is “Never.” But I will ask, when will these venues stop letting these kooks film their show at their places?
Evelyn wants Jennifer dead for thinking she’s better than Nia. How dare Jenn call Nia a “bum b*tch?” Evelyn wreaks havoc on a plant while Jenn watches. Nia calls out Jenn for having celebrity friends. Tami Roman can’t even regain control of the situation. She’s confused. Jenn decides it’s time to leave, and Evelyn beaks down in tears because you don’t judge a b*tch. You nevah evah judge a b*tch, ya hear? Gracious. Kesha Nichols leaves with Jenn, and she asks if the attack was expected. Kesha should know by now that outbursts are par for the course with these “ladies.”
On last night’s Mob Wives, everyone shockingly got along. There were no brawls, no altercations, and a relatively small amount of drama. What’s going on, ladies?
Renee Graziano and Ramona Rizzo head to lunch, where Renee finally realizes that she needs to stop throwing a pity party for herself. She doesn’t want Junior Pagan to have that kind of power of her after his shady dealings. Ramona reveals that the feds obtained a search warrant for Joe’s house and have confiscated all of her jewelry from the home. It’s over 200k worth of baubles, and Ramona is beyond upset about the hoops she will have to jump through to have it returned.
Karen Gravano is anticipating the release of Mob Daughters and she is going to have a big party, including media, red carpet, the works. Karen is nervous about the potential questions the book could generate, but she is very excited about the venue.
Big Ang is excited about the holidays, especially for her sister Janine’s Christmas party at her massive home. Renee is looking good and arrives ready to have fun. Drita D’Avanzo shows up and is awe of Janine’s house. Of course, Renee wants to get to the bottom of Carla Facciolo implying that Renee knew Junior was a rat. Both Drita and Big Ang are defending Carla because they don’t think she meant any harm. Renee is finally ready to listen to reason, and Big Ang is grateful. She just wants to have a fun party!
Drita and Carla go shopping for jewelry for Carla’s niece’s sweet sixteen party. Drita relays to Carla how crazy Renee went over hearing Carla’s comment from Karen. Carla is so tired of how sensitive Renee is being, and she can’t believe Karen didn’t convey the context in which her statement was said. Drita tries to play peacekeeper, but it seems like it’s going to be a lost cause.
Ramona has a meeting with Joe’s attorney. She wants to get her jewelry back…although she doesn’t seem to care about her children’s birth certificates which were stored with the jewelry. He tells her that her possessions are likely in a vault in Texas. Not only are many of the pieces expensive, but they have sentimental value. Ramona is livid.
Carla and Renee meet for coffee to hash out their differences. Carla is beyond angry that Renee would ever believe that Carla thought that way about her. She basically goes on off on Renee for not coming to her first. Carla is also shocked when Renee takes responsibility for making the assumption, and all is well (for now) with their friendship.
Ramona, Karen, and Big Ang are taking belly dancing lessons. Big Ang can’t get the moves down, and Ramona blames her massively huge breasts for her lack of balance. Karen isn’t getting the hang of it either. She blames her preoccupation on the fact that some of the victims are trying to boycott her book. She is just trying to tell the story of her life. Ramona believes it must be difficult for all parties involved. Ya think?
Drita has a cute scene with her youngest daughter. Her four-year-old is the week’s star student, and Drita surprises her daughter by announcing she’s going to get a puppy. Her daughter is thrilled, but Drita isn’t too keen on naming a dog “Sparkles.”
Must everything about Basketball Wives be messy? And must twitter usually be the cause? After introducing her love, Dezmon Briscoe, on Monday night’s episode, all hell broke loose in Twitterverse for Royce Reed. After Dezmon’s baby mama, Christina Nero, tweeted, “I swear I almost threw up watching bbw fake a$s relationship” and revealed that Dezmon had been sending her “freaky texts,” Royce was adamant she was a liar. What a difference a few days make!
In the midst of the drama, Dezmon tweeted, “baby mama wanna be messy so I’ll clean it up. I sent the messages she posted …To be on her good side because she has my son.” Fair enough, right? He later apologized to his beloved in the intimate and sincere way possible…again via Twitter. “I could of handled the situation better,” he tweets. “I’m still wrong and I wanna apologize to @Roycelr because she don’t deserve that. Love you.” Awww…
While Royce is no doubt humiliated, she tweeted, “I was lied 2 and stood by it. Gonna take a lot more than THAT 4 forgiveness…My heart is broken….y the hell send it just 2 appease sum1″ She makes a very valid point, no?
Even in her VH1 blog, Royce is truly mad…but is it directed at the correct person? She has posted pictures of her and Dezmon in happier times and posts an open letter to his baby mama. Yikes! She writes:
“At the end of the day” (Jen voice) he will not be with her. So the rant she went on and my responses change nothing for her life. Not only do I look like a fool in love, but she looks like a bitter, jealous and angry “Baby Momma.” That’s worse. Fact is, they were never an item. They were never a couple. But for just under a year, she has been angry that he has been with me…I’m sure she wonders why she was never “the one” to marry but just “the one” to do before he met me.
Surely she has some equally harsh words for the dude who actually started this, right? Well, maybe “harsh” isn’t the right word. I realize that relationships are complicated, and no one really knows the full story, but Royce has an admitted history of blurred vision when it comes to men. Is history repeating itself? She continues:
Do I think Dezmon loves me? Yes! Do I think what he did was wrong? Absolutely. Are we done…forever? Honestly, I don’t know. Readers can say I’m dumb if I go back, but with relationships come mistakes. I was lied to and lesson learned…I entertained it on Twitter. I let the drama get to me despite being told to ignore it. That was my immaturity in this experience coming out. I admit that. Yes, I’m embarrassed, humiliated and broken. But I’m strong. Regardless of what happens I will be okay. Do I love him? Yes. Is that enough to stay? At this point, no.
Last night’s Basketball Wives was exactly everything we’ve come to expect from this formulaic season. Ladies gossip, ladies lunch, ladies gossiping and lunching promise to “cut a b*tch” if they ever see said B again, other ladies don’t think it’s a good idea for a group gathering, yet, a group gathering is planned. Mayhem ensues right as the show’s hour comes to an end. Lather, rinse, repeat for a season…
Tami Roman continues her deep conversation with her mother. Her mother is very emotional, and she admits that she too was molested as a child and she’s been going to therapy as well to work through her issues. The pair seems have a breakthrough which ends in hugs and tears.
Royce Reed is thrilled that Dezmon Briscoe, her NFL playing beau from Tampa Bay, is visiting in Miami. She immediately begins grilling him about his initial meeting with her father. I can’t tell if Dezmon is flattered or scared when she begins to compare their relationship to her parents’ forty plus year marriage. He admits that he is deeply in love, but he also has a lot of “we’re going with the flow” talk.
Tami is excited that Shaunie O’Neal is in visiting because it gives her the opportunity dish on Kenya Bell’s music video. Tami is disappointed that Kenya didn’t stick up for herself, but she also wishes Kenya could see the importance of listening to constructive criticism. Both women do a spot-on interpretation on Jenn Williams, who was uncomfortable at the video screening, and it segues into how all the women will behave when they head to the horse races. Last year, Tami had her own screaming match at the track, so she’s curious to see if they ladies can act maturely. Sure. Tami is also concerned, in light of Jenn and Royce’s new truce, if Jenn will change her tune towards Royce if she makes up with Evelyn Lozada.
Evelyn meets with her friend/assistant Nia who also used to be close with Jenn. Nia is upset that someone she was such good friends with can now pretend like she doesn’t even know her. Evelyn feels badly that Jenn has hurt Nia’s feelings so badly. Evelyn vows that is she is around when Nia wants to confront Jenn, she is going to stay out it. Yeah, I can’t wait to see that happen.
So where we last left the “ladies” of Basketball Wives, Evelyn Lozadahad just hurled a wine bottle at Kenya Bell’s head. Good times! Is that a cross ring on her finger? WWJD? Not this, I assure you! Tami Roman is able to pull Evelyn away from Kenya as she threatens death. Suzie Ketcham feels like she’s in Iraq, what with all these wine bottles and plates whizzing by her head. Shaunie O’Neal pretends to be distraught at this turn of events. Tami admits that she wasn’t trying to protect Kenya as much as she was trying to avoid her friend committing homicide. Classy, Ev!
Suzie is working out with Jenn Williams, and she’s hoping Jenn will give Royce Reed a few minutes of her time in hopes of a reconciliation. Jenn reveals that she wasn’t so much mad at Royce as her feelings were hurt. Perfect, exclaims Suzie–as Royce feels the same way! Not quite…Jenn is still miffed that Royce opted to “work” with her ex Eric Williams on his “movie.”
Meanwhile Tami and Evelyn meet with Shaunie to discuss the annoying bug which is Kenya. Are they hoping Shaunie will fire her mid-season? Shaunie definitely thought Kenya was crazy at the dinner. After all, she was throwing plates and wine bottles not showing any emotion when confronted by Evelyn. Kenya is not right, y’all! She just watched Evelyn take off her earrings without fear or concern. Kenya must be in-flipping-sane! Shaunie recommends a tropical girls’ trip to Tahiti, and the women question Evelyn if it would be alright to invite Jenn. Of course it is…just give Evelyn more time to perfect her aim! Shaunie reminds Evelyn and Tami that Suzie has invited all the women to the race track. Should be a good time…I hope the horses are betting on which “wife” will fall victim to the first sucker punch!
Kenya and Jenn are going wine shopping. Is it just me or does Kenya seem even more comatose than episodes past? Kenya is hoping to purchase some vino to serve at the screening of her new video. Jenn encourages her to invite the crew.
Fans are loving Big Ang, it would seem. The Mob Wivesstar is reportedly in talks for her own spinoff show!
Sources tell Wetpaint that “a deal is in the works. Nothing has been signed, but a deal is being set up.” VH1 declined to comment, but where there’s smoke…
The networks are handing these spinoffs out like candy, aren’t they? Snooki & JWoww, Lisa Vanderpump, Bethenney Frankel and on and on….. Like a free gift with purchase.
It seems that Mob Wives is turning out to be too much reality for some viewers of the show. After recent episodes showed the grizzly reality of the mob lifestyle, fans are speaking out about the show losing it’s entertainment value.
Two weeks ago, the show featured the ladies’ vacation to the Poconos, where they fired off some rounds in the woods to reconnect them to their roots or something. Karen Gravano, daughter of former mob boss, Sammy “The Bull” Gravano, recounted the first time she discovered her father’s gun under a mattress. Now, relatives of some of Sammy’s victims are speaking out about the inappropriateness of the show and the topic!
“Sammy was a psychotic killer. And I do believe genes are inherited,” said Lynda Milito, a mob wife of her own, who credits Sammy for offing her husband Louie Milito. “What about the people [Sammy] killed, and their extended family? How can [Karen] be allowed to shoot a gun? The apple does not fall far from the tree, and crime does not pay,” Lynda tells the NY Post.
Concerns were also raised about Karen, who was once on probation, being in contact with a firearm. In response to the concerns, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Philadelphia Field Division issued a statement denying that any illegal behavior took place on said trip. “We are aware of the show and the episode. We do not have a criminal investigation.”
Karen also denies breaking probation and issued a statement through her rep denying any wrongdoing. “My probation terms have been over since 2003. At that time, I filed a motion to have my constitutional rights restored and to my knowledge, they have been restored. They’re doing everything they can to discredit me because of their personal issues with my father.”
Moving on to other distressing Mob Wives issues – Renee Graziano has been dealing with the horrific reality of learning that her ex-husband, Junior Pagan, ratted out her father, Anthony Graziano, which resulted in his return to jail. Junior is reportedly in the Federal Witness Protection Program.
Renee has shared that she fell into a deep depression, later leading to hospitalization after she contemplated suicide. Well, now Renee is moving on, but she will “never” speak to Junior again!
“I have no relationship with my son’s father whatsoever,” Renee told HollywoodLife. “Not at all. I found forgiveness for myself, because if I didn’t, I wouldn’t be able to go on and date and be a happy person. As far as my father is concerned, I won’t be able to forgive him [Junior] not now and not ever.”
Renee also reveals that her son AJ is healing as well, but things are still difficult for him. “He is doing the best that he can and hopefully he will come out of it soon.”
Not surprisingly, as Renee is the one who has brought them all together, Renee credits her co-stars for keeping her sane and helping her through the awful situation. “They have helped me,” she shares. “I’m in a really good place with the girls. I don’t always like them, but I love them.”
Renee is also ready to start dating again! “I’m single and I’m open to dating,” she dished “I’m looking for a real man.”
Maybe they can give Renee her own spinoff, too. Bachelorette-style.

TELL US – WOULD YOU WATCH A ‘BIG ANG’ SPINOFF SHOW? WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE OUTCRY OVER RENEE’S GUN FIRING? WHO DO YOU THINK RENEE SHOULD DATE AFTER JUNIOR?
I hope none of y’all missed last night’s educational and always classy episode of Basketball Wives. I learned, among other things, never to wear flip flops with a kitten heel, and to duck and cover if I ever find myself dining with Evelyn in a wine cellar.
We resume with the ladies arguing in a cabana. Kesha peaces out, and Suzie walks her out, but thinks better of leaving Kenya alone with Evelyn and Tami to spin more lies. Her word play is ridiculous. Kenya never SAID that Evelyn was loose, she just said she HEARD Evelyn was loose. Tami finds Kenya to be very untrustworthy if she can’t remember what she’s said. Evelyn is stewing quietly, and Kenya decides to cut her losses and leave. Evelyn then rants about Kenya’s elderly kitten heels and her future a$$ whooping.
Royce is meeting with JoJo Brim and Talia Coles to discuss a potential hip-hop fitness video. It sounds like a cool project, and if I weren’t so lazy, I would certainly exercise with a Royce DVD. Jenn and Suzie come over to Kesha’s for wine, and once again Kenya’s kitten heels are the main topic of conversation. Jenn hasn’t had any issues with Kenya, as they both talk about their ongoing divorces. Suzie is appalled her friend may like Kenya, much less think she’s “normal,” and Kesha warns Jenn that she’s being idolized by a cuckoo bird. Kesha also wants to call the other girl who was in the conversation when Kenya called Evelyn loose.
Over lunch, Evelyn fills inShaunie on the Kenya/Kesha debacle. Good gracious, this show is so scripted. Evelyn no longer cares about Kenya and Kesha’s problems with one another. She is mad as fire about being called a ho loose. She is looking forward to speaking to Kesha’s friend, who was present for Kenya’s loose lips. Evelyn’s ring is super ridiculous, by the way. Speaking of Kenya, she meets up with her “favorite girl” Jenn. Jenn totally relates…she’s her own favorite girl. Kenya is able to schmooze her way into Jenn’s good graces. It’s like Kenya is to Jenn what Jenn used to be to Evelyn, no?
Royce visits Tami to talk about her upcoming play. Tami is proud of her friend and having fun until Royce mentions Suzie. Royce hadn’t heard about the food stamps comment. Tami reveals how difficult it is working with Kenya, and Royce jokes that she brought this upon herself. Tami informs Royce that she will be joining Tami to listen to back-up choirs for Kenya. Royce is not on board, but she’s willing to do it for Tami. I do think their friendship is extremely genuine.

Last night’s Mob Wives followed Renee Graziano’s emotional distress, and it becomes more and more evident that something shady was going on with husband Junior Pagan in regard to her father’s arrest.
Renee is still in a very bad place after both Junior and her father went away on the same day. Karen Gravano understands that, perhaps they needed to be arrested, but she wishes the feds could have at least waited until after Thanksgiving. Over the phone, her friend Nikole pleads with Renee to motivate herself for A.J.’s sake. While, Renee promises she doesn’t let her son see her so upset, she is screaming and sobbing for most of the conversation.
Ramona comes to visit Big Ang at the bar. Ramona shares with Big Ang how horribly Renee is doing. Big Ang has left her multiple messages, but she had no idea things were so bad. They discuss the need to get Renee out to take her mind off of the situation. Ramona can’t believe that Junior would surrender to the feds, and not even tell Renee and A.J. that he was doing so. She knows now that Thanksgiving will be forever tainted for Renee, much like it is for her, as her grandfather died on Thanksgiving. Ramona states that her grandfather was the true definition of “a gangster” that is lacking in today’s society. Big Ang agrees…no one is loyal anymore. Are these women listening to themselves? I know that Ramona loved her grandfather and he no doubt thought she hung the moon. However, for her to be hung up and proud on the fact he was a criminal, is a little off to me.
Carla Facciolo and Drita D’avanzo meet for lunch, and Carla fills in Drita on Renee’s breakdown. Drita can’t imagine what Renee is going through. She thinks that maybe she should take the kids to visit Lee in jail before the holidays. She hasn’t seen him in over a year. Carla tells Drita that Junior left a note before turning himself in to the feds. Drita can’t believe it – she thinks that if Junior was going to surrender, he should have let Renee take him in to say good-bye.
Drita heads to the Drunken Monkey to see Big Ang. She tells Big Ang she is considering taking the kids to see Lee. Drita admits it’s hard to try to shield her daughters from this lifestyle, only to have to take them somewhere as scary as a prison. Big Ang agrees, but she thinks all men look pretty hot in prison uniforms.
Carla and Joe take their kids roller skating. They really are such a cute family. I hope Joe can stay on the straight and narrow because it is obvious his young son truly idolizes him. Meanwhile, Renee goes to Ramona’s for a pre-Thanksgiving dinner. She promises she will stand behind Junior while he’s in jail. Renee has decided to put a positive spin on Junior’s incarceration, because she knows he can’t cheat on her in the slammer. She is brought to tears talking about her father though. Karen arrives and proposes a toast, and Renee starts screaming like a banshee. Celebrate? They expect her to celebrate? She can’t do this – and she leaves. I hope she’s getting some help.
At home, Drita shares a fun moment with her youngest daughter. She hopes to be both a mother and father to her girls, in Lee’s absence. When she tries to bring up the possibility of visiting Lee, Giselle doesn’t want to go. She doesn’t know who he is, she hasn’t even comprehend who “Daddy” is. Even with Drita’s chiding, Giselle is adamant about not meeting Lee. Drita is heartbroken.
Big Ang, Ramona, and Karen take Renee to a drag queen show in an attempt to take her mind off what she’s going through. Big Ang loves a drag show because they sort of remind her of, well, herself. Renee is even laughing – the women can’t believe it! Over cocktails, Drita tells Carla that there are rumors circulating that Junior snitched on Renee’s dad. Carla is floored. Drita and Carla’s husbands were both incarcerated, thanks to rats. Well, thanks to doing criminal activity, but they were ratted out by others doing the same thing. This news makes Carla sick to her stomach.
Karen and Carla meet for dinner, and the pair discusses an article that accuses Junior of flipping on Renee’s father. Of course, Karen needs to clear the air…yes, her father “cooperated” with the feds, but he didn’t do the “scummy act” of wearing a wire. There is no comparison between Karen’s father “cooperating” and Junior “ratting” on Renee’s dad. After setting the record straight on that little issue, Karen hopes that Renee will be able to overcome this madness.
Big Ang has a friend over to her house, and they are chatting about the recent Junior gossip. Big Ang makes it clear that there are rules in this lifestyle and Junior has broken them. His selfish actions will affect how people see Renee and A.J., and that is a tragic thing to do to one’s family. She reveals that when she was arrested, the police tried to get her to be an informant, but no way, according to Big Ang.
Karen and Ramona go to Renee’s house to make sure she’s okay. Renee cannot, and will not believe the article. She points out that the writer has had to recant three different stories. Renee is worried the way things are going A.J. will be losing his mother next, as she’s stretched so thin emotionally. Renee knows that A.J. is being punished for having a father who is accused of being a rat. She apologizes to Karen for having to go through all of this again, as she was labeled similarly due to her father. She breaks down apologizing for not being a good friend to Karen when she returned last year. She is all over the place, crying, shaking, calm, quiet. Karen wants Renee to face the facts that the gossip could be true, but she refuses.
Renee goes to church in hopes of finding some peace. Big Ang goes to visit her sister Janice with a copy of The Post, which basically confirms the rumors that Junior snitched on Renee’s father. Renee is a basketcase and it’s very difficult to watch.
Next week, Renee tries to come to grips with the news. She now believes that Carla has been talking crap about her behind her back. Carla accuses Renee of being extremely paranoid given her current state of affairs.
WHAT DID YOU THINK OF LAST NIGHT’S EPISODE? WILL RENEE BE ABLE TO PULL HERSELF OUT OF HER DEPRESSION? SHOULD DRITA TAKE HER DAUGHTERS TO VISIT LEE?
