I'm not going to say, "I told you so," but only because VH1 doesn't seem to listen to what I have to say. After all, it brought back the original Love & Hip Hop, didn't it? It seems the network is hell bent on reviving Basketball Wives: LA with new ladies and new drama. Shocking, I know.
The new crew, along with some veteran cast members, are currently filming the upcoming season, and things among the ladies hasn't been all "raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens" if you get my drift. Now, gossip is swirling that the oftensometimes slightly more even-keeled than the rest Draya Michele may have peaced out before the season concluded.
Well, what do you know? Promises were kept on last night's Love & Hip Hop…although said promises caused some major blow-ups. Peter Gunz assured Amina Buddafly that he'd tell Tara Wallace about their relationship, and he does. Nya wants to keep her word to help out Erica Mena. Of course, that will certainly end well–everything with Erica always does!
After thwarting Amina's plans to tell Tara about her wedding to Peter, ol' Petey boy calls up Rich Dollaz for advice. They are having a meeting of the creeps, but just because Peter is a creep doesn't mean he's a bad person. He's just indecisive as to who he wants to have sex with on a regular basis. Speaking of creeps, Joe Budden is meeting with Nya at the strip club. They've developed a true friendship as only a stripper and hookah smoking patron can be. Professor Budden tries to dissuade Nya from collaborating with Erica Mena, but I am totally distracted by the dancer in the background whose arse is literally about to eat some gentleman's face. Thanks for the nightmares, VH1. Thanks a lot.
Peter stays true to his word for once and keeps his "tomorrow" promise to tell Tara about Amina. He invites her to come by the studio and halfway tells her that he's been diddling his artist for a little while. When she gets upset about the fact that he's cheating (yet again), he says she may need to shoulder some of the responsibility since the pair hasn't been getting along. Is he serious? She's slapping him every which way to Sunday before throwing his guitar and storming out of the studio. Tara feels so stupid for thinking that Peter had changed his cheating ways…as she should!
Well, we're back for another classy installment ofLove & Hip Hop which begins with Amina Buddafly bragging to Rich Dollaz about her marriage to Peter Gunz. She is a horrible actress as she tries to act like she's sick of being considered his side-chick. Peter can't believe she's spilling their secret. After all, he told her that no one could ever know about their little wedding. Mona, I'm insulted. This is what passes for "reality" these days? This is about as real as my relationship with Ryan Gosling.
K. Michelle and her friend Paris are meeting Yandy Smith for gossip and cocktails. They discuss the dating scene in New York City, and K. Michelle reveals that she won't date another man with a hairless cat. Before I can get totally grossed out by K's weird sexual references, she explains that she once dated a guy who actually had a Grandma Whiskers. Yandy decides to plan a ladies' night out to welcome her friend to the Big Apple.
We're introduced to Nya who is a stripper turned rapper (sound familiar?), so of course Rich feels inclined to stop by the studio to check out her sound. Nya isn't keen on having a manager who is known for sleeping with his artists. She's already got enough to overcome with the whole stripper gig. Rich is insulted. Google him. He makes dreams come true. This is either the worst first meeting between "business people" or a prelude to a sexually charged manager-artist relationship. I've learned only one thing from this flipping franchise, and that is the studio time costs money. This entire exchange just seems like a big ol' waste of cash to me.
Mob Wives'Big Ang knows a thing or two about plastic surgery…and vino! Having just released a new line of wines, the "bigger is better" reality star celebrated the launch of her latest venture with friends and family at–where else?–an authentic Italian restaurant in New York City.
Known for her cannonball sized boobs and lips and her role as the voice of reason on Mob Wives, Ang is versed in all things tattooed, tanned, and cocktail related. She is also doling out advice on romantic relationships, which makes sense when you think about it. I'm sure Prosecco served in a bottle decorated with kiss marks and animal print can get anyone in the mood!
Don't lie. You've missed the crew from Love & Hip Hop. Yeah, I know. I couldn't type that with a straight face any more than you could read it with one. With the Basketball Wives reunion kaput, VH1 treated us to the season premiere of a more yawn-inducing version of the feisty L&HH: ATL. While I'll try to reserve my judgment, I don't think that K. Michelle can save this sinking ship any more than the newbies. It's not that I don't like Yandy Smith and Mendeecees Harris, but they are almost too likeable. I didn't believe Rich Dollaz and Erica Mena's relationship was anything more than camera candy, so I never invested much thought in them, and don't even get me started on the dysfunction that is Tahiry Jose and Joe Budden. So, about that reservation of judgment promise…I'm not doing so well, eh?
With the Medicine Man still incarcerated, Yandy has continued to take Little Mendeecees during his dad's custodial times. Both she and Mendecees have decided to tell the boy that his father is serving time…in the army. I don't even have the chance to type how adorable this child is before Mona Scott Young goes and throws a curveball…she is totally exploiting Little Mendecees by having him share a secret with his soon-to-be stepmom. He reveals that he has known his dad was in jail for months.
See guys, dreams really do come true…although it often takes time to confirm them. Love & Hip Hop creator Mona Scott Young has been hoping to expand her franchise, although I think she'll be hard pressed to find one that can compare to L&HH: Atlanta! With rumors swirling over the Internet about potential cities and hangers on cast members, Mona is finally talking about what we've all been talking about for the last few months. Thanks for bringing us up to speed there, Mona!
So far, Chris Brown's ex Karrueche Tran and Single Ladies' LeToya Luckett have debunked the gossip that they will be signing on with the VH1 reality show. Mona told Necole Bitchie, "Of course New York starts up again October 28, so I am excited about that, and I am casting in a few other cities. There's been a lot of chit chat on the interweb about that. I'm looking at L.A., I'm looking at Houston, looking at New Orleans. Yeah, we're going to find another city to spread our wings into."

You have to hand it to Mob Wives'Renee Graziano. The hardened reality star basically unraveled during the demise of her marriage and the realization that her husband had turned state's evidence on her father. As you know, VH1 cameras were there to capture it all.
Thankfully, Renee was able to pull herself up by her bootstraps and get the help she needed to overcome the addictions she used to numb her pain. Not wanting to return to the person she once was, Renee continues to take measures to better herself.
