It’s getting hard to root for anyone in the cast on Real Housewives of Orange County. This season is lackluster. Nothing is really happening and everyone is really stuck in the past- something that Peggy Sulahian said that I actually agree with (for once). In real life it would make a lot of sense for these women to be upset with each other, but as far as keeping this show going, it’s tough to just watch them talk about the same shit over and over again.
And one person who is all about bringing up the past is self-proclaimed private investigator Meghan Edmonds. Was Meghan just being a good friend or was she just stirring shit up for the sake of a story line during that last episode?
It’s been a grueling season of trench warfare on The Real Housewives Of Orange County, and Vicki Gunvalson thinks it’s time everyone just gets over themselves for the sake of moving forward. I couldn’t agree more! Even though Vicki still sees herself as the perpetual victim of everyone’s “false” accusations, she seems willing to lay aside her differences with Tamra Judge and Shannon Beador for the good of the order.
Vicki also thinks Kelly Dodd is a loyal friend, even if Kelly is laying down her sword with Shannon. Vicki comments, “I was glad to see Shannon and Kelly attempting on making amends at the Irish drinking night. There has been so much back and forth backstabbing that it’s exhausting to witness and be a part of.”
Even though Shannon Beador isn’t holding up that center orange in the Real Housewives of Orange County introduction, she really should be at this point. There is always something going on with Shannon. She is going through it this season – from the weight gain, to the marital strife, to her feuds with the other ladies, she has a lot to address week after week.
And it all came to head with an argument between Meghan and Kelly Dodd at drag queen bingo. Lydia was visibly uncomfortable at the event and that was before all the arguing went down. It was her first time around drag queens and there is no doubt that she will be asked about her discomfort at the reunion. When the arguing began, Lydia couldn’t take it anymore, even though she has been on this show before. Shouldn’t she know that there is always an argument at every group gathering? Apparently not.
Usually the mention of a Real Housewives vacation incites thoughts of grown women fighting over which room they get to sleep in at a mansion, explosive arguments at group dinners, or even a wild turn up. In all honesty, these trips seem more exhausting than relaxing, so it is no surprise that the Housewives seem to be a million times more relaxed when they take vacations in their real lives away from the cast.
Most of the Real Housewives escaped from real life to enjoy the long Labor Day Weekend with their friends and families.
This is frustrating because Kelly is in the right about Meghan’s behavior but, as always, Kelly’s delivery and her viciousness get the better of her!
The whole thing started off so promisingly – in a baby store. Amid queries about sleigh cribs or modern cages, Kelly joked with Meghan that perhaps she’s “a lesbo” after a drunken kiss with Shannon Beador. Kelly and Meghan guffaw like Kelly ‘s kiss with Shannon is so trendy and cool, instead of waving from the caboose on Katy Perry’s “I Kissed A Girl” train. More prescient is how quickly Kelly and Shannon moved from mortal enemies to K-I-S-S-ING. First comes hate, then comes love, then comes Meghan in the middle!
As much as I love Real Housewives of Orange County, Season 12 is definitely “off” so far. It is just such a fragmented show with most of the women refusing to film together and there are no real story lines so far. Other than Shannon Beador throwing that plate full of food at Kelly Dodd, it’s been a pretty boring season.
Hopefully that changes, but as of now, the show is in the same place it has been for the past two seasons with Tamra Judge and Shannon refusing to associate with Vicki Gunvalson. The battle lines have been drawn with Vicki and Kelly on one side and Tamra and Shannon on the other.
The current Real Housewives of Orange Countyseason feels like several different shows rolled into one. There’s a major divide in the cast with a lot of the women refusing to film with each other and when they do they don’t even acknowledge each other if they’re in the same room. Even so, the ladies from the cast all came together to support the victims of Hurricane Harvey.
