Preservationists Upset After Real Housewives Of Miami’s Lisa Hochstein Throws Gangster Party At Star Island Mansion

The preservationists in Miami must be seething right about now!  No, nothing has been decided about the historical designation of Real Housewives of Miami Lisa Hochstein's Star Island mansion (yawn), but the reality star is making sure she is enjoying the property while she can.

Many people want to bar the plastic surgery power couple from demolishing the 88-year-old estate to build a new McMansion.  However, until they are given the greenlight for their "improvements," Lisa and her husband plan to milk the house "as is" for all it's worth…Bravo style.

According to the Miami Herald, the couple threw a wild gangster themed soiree last week at the home…all for Bravo's cameras.  The couple claimed that Scarface was filmed at the mansion, but IMDB only credits the home in an episode of Miami Vice.  Go Crockett!

The Miami Design Preservation League was none too happy with this turn of events once pictures from the party were posted on social media.  Not surprisingly, Lisa didn't care.  She explains, “It’s really none of their business.  It’s our house, we can do whatever we want. If we want to splatter paint and paint it purple or yellow, it’s our prerogative.”

Pictures on Twitter and Instagram showed faux blood-splattered walls and chalk outlines of bodies on the floor.  Sounds like a scene!  One guest tweeted, "Star Island tear-down house.”

Claiming a faulty foundation for the reason for a demolition, Lisa's husband tells the site, “I do believe that it is a tear-down house, but this wasn’t a tear-down party. When the house is torn down, I certainly will have a party.”

The attorney for the preservationist group rebutted, “With this party having occurred inside the potentially historically designated home, there is no credibility to the owner’s claim that the building is an unsafe structure that cannot be inhabited."  That's a pretty stellar argument, right?  #lawschool

The director of the preservationist league agrees, saying, “Unless major damage is being done to the interior or exterior which could compromise the integrity of the residence this should not be a problem,” adding, “If the Hochsteins continue to use the house in this way maybe they will fall in love with it. Stranger things have happened!”

Clearly, he's never watched Bravo!
