For quite some time now, the rumors have been buzzing about Heather Thomson possibly quitting The Real Housewives Of New York, but Heather had not confirmed nor denied the rumors. In fact, just two short months ago, Thomson claimed that she was not even thinking about next season, but we all know that in the back of her mind, leaving was a definite possibility.
Sadly, it looks as though all of those rumors are true. Heather confirmed today that she is indeed walking away from The Real Housewives Of New York, leaving some of her friends disappointed, but understanding of why Thomson wants to leave – she tired of the “forced drama.” Thomson and her BFF Carole Radziwill both spoke out about her departure recently.

Aha! We all knew that some of the drama was forced! And for Heather Thomson, she’s had enough. Speaking to US Weekly recently, Thomson dished about her decision to walk away from The Real Housewives Of New York after three years, “When the opportunity came to do this show, I had this list of pros and cons. Three years in, the pros list is just gone. They don’t exist anymore.”
But it’s more than just the drama that has taken a toll on the 45-year-old. Running her company and being a mother of two takes all of her time and energy, and the long shooting days are just too much for her anymore. And while Heather definitely has some good friends that she will miss dearly, the drama is not going to be missed. “The hurtfulness over someone else and at someone’s expense — I don’t do that. I’m the exact opposite,” Thomson went on to add.
Of those friends, Thomson’s best pal, Carole Radziwill is sad to see her walk away, but completely understands. “There is no doubt Heather will always do great things. While she won’t be part of the show, she is still a part of my life, and for that I’m grateful. Holla,” Radziwill said, also boasting about what a great businesswoman and mother Heather is.
According to Thomson, Andy Cohen was also very understanding of her decision. Hmm, we can’t help but wonder how some of the other ladies will react to the news, and we can’t wait to find out.
