Part of me understood why Bethenny Frankel got mad at Sonja Morgan for trying to launch a proseco line called Tipsy Girl. Another part of me felt like she gave it way more attention than it deserved since it could never be a legitimate competitor to Bethenny’s Skinnygirl brand.
I don’t get why Sonja trying to sell alcohol is different than any other Real Housewife who has done the same thing- and there really are a lot of them who have. Nevertheless, this whole thing has resulted in a lot of unnecessary drama that just keeps going.

I thought everyone was past this whole Skinnygirl vs. Tipsy Girl situation, but I was wrong. It just keeps going on and on. Sonja spoke about the non-situation in an interview with Page Six. The article only has one actual quote in it, but it’s a pretty good one.
Sonja said, ” I’m a big, fat, tipsy girl . . . I have a different market. The very young party girl and a very old party group that just wants to brunch all day; tourists that just want to come and sit around and drink all day. They want to eat calamari and hamburgers and pasta.” That sounds like the kind of market I need to be a part of. Maybe Tipsy Girl actually can end up being a legit business after all.
Another quote in the article says that “Frankel’s brand is targeted at the ‘alcorexics.'” But there is no real context for that and it’s unclear if that’s something Sonja even said or how she meant it. Nevertheless, Sonja believes that Tipsy Girl is a strong brand and I just love that she thinks that. I have no idea how much this is going to hold up, but I love hearing Sonja talk about her empire. Whether her words are accurate or not, they are always entertaining.
