Tamra complains about Shannon

Tamra Judge Explains Why Her Husband Thinks She “Enables” Shannon Beador; Insists Their Friendship Is Not Codependent

Let’s be honest: the first episode of the Real Housewives of Orange County cast trip in Jamaica has been a total snoozefest. Thankfully, the previews for the next episode looks explosive with Tamra Judge and Shannon Beador screaming at each other.

Nevertheless, the last episode did serve its purpose. The tension between Tamra and Shannon is downright palpable. Tamra was miffed when Shannon decided to partner up with Vicki Gunvalson for an activity instead of her. Later, Tamra suggested getting into the water so Shannon could cool off and Shannon just stormed off to the van to sit in the air conditioning. Nothing about either of those scenarios is interesting on its own, but it’s setting the stage for next episode’s scream fest.

During the episode, Tamra revealed to Emily Simpson and Gina Kirschenheiter that her husband Eddie Judge thinks she “enables” Shannon. Just imagine Shannon watching that conversation. How many texts did she send Tamra in response?

Tamra explained why Eddie feels that way in a Bravo blog post. She wrote, “Eddie would hear me talk to Shannon numerous times a day. Sometimes, he thought that I should’ve been a little tougher on her to help her move on. I was so worried about hurting her feelings, so he felt that I was enabling her.”

Tamra continued, “The past four years of Shannon’s marriage have been a roller coaster. I’ve been the one there for her every step of the way.” She added, “I try to be the best friend I can be and just listen to her, but that gets exhausting. I was going through my own issues with Eddie’s health and my patience was running short.”

She admitted, “There were definitely times that I wanted to say to Shannon that I wish she could be a little bit more positive, but I just didn’t have it in me. Shannon is very emotional, and I just didn’t want to upset her.” Spoiler alert: looks like that’s exactly what is going to happen during the next episode.

Then Tamra addressed Kelly Dodd’s claim that she and Shannon have a codependent relationship. She declared, “Codependent is a strong word!”

She insisted, “I don’t think that Shannon and I are codependent. I think that we are really good friends. We do a lot together, and we rely on each other. I think every girl has that one best friend who knows everything about them, and that is my friendship with Shannon. We are more like sisters than friends.”
