Holidays can be hard for many when you are missing a loved one. They can be especially hard when you lose someone who has been such an important part of your life.
Vanderpump Rules star Jax Taylor lost his father Ronald Cauchi a year ago. It was a profound loss and he has really taken it to heart. Recently, he reflected on the past year with a very open tribute to his dad.
Jax shared an emotional post on Instagram to mark the one year anniversary of his father’s passing. He shared a very loving picture of his father and himself as a child.
Jax begins his tribute by saying, “I lost the man I aspire to be, my best friend.” Then, he went on to say how he waits for text message every morning that are no longer coming through. He also admitted that he watches old videos to see and hear his voice.
Sweetly, Jax remarked, “We still get to have our talks but now they take place at church on Wednesday’s and when I take your ashes with me on my cruises with the guys.”

He wrote, “I am getting married this year dad. I don’t know how I am gonna do it without you physically standing by me and helping me with my tie like the old days at hockey tournaments. God I miss those days.”
Jax explained how his father’s passing has changed him and has helped him be the man that he wants to be. He shared, “After you passed I have to admit I wanted nothing to do with God. I was angry, sad, disgusted on how he could take such a beautiful man. But I remembered how much you loved him and how you always told me how important God was to you, so I started going back to church and believing again.”
This post is the most sincere and truthful post from Jax that we have ever seen. We feel his pain and understand what the absence of the most influential people in our lives can do to change us. Some of us for the better and some of us for the worse. We are happy to see Jax is making better choices.
