Real Housewives Of New Jersey Dish On Margaret Josephs' Pool Push

It was the splash heard all over New Jersey when Margaret Josephs and her husband, Joe Benigno, shoved Danielle Staub’s soon-to-be ex-husband Marty Caffrey in Jennifer Aydin’s pool. The bash to celebrate Jennifer and Bill Aydin’s sixteenth anniversary was featured on the Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 9 finale. At least Bill didn’t spend all his time hiding in his pool-house.

Jennifer requested that the ladies wear red, and when Marty insulted Margaret’s appearance, Joe B. sure was seeing red. It wasn’t the first time that Marty slammed Margaret’s looks. At Milania Giudice’s listening party, Marty said that Margaret wouldn’t want to be in a room with Danielle because no one would be able to take their eyes off Danielle.

So, does Margaret regret helping Marty take a swim? In a clip from Bravo’s Real Housewives of New Jersey After Show, Margaret stated, “No. No…why would I regret it? He asked for it.”

Joe Gorga agreed with Marty’s impromptu dip. “He called her ugly and he called her many other names. He deserved it. That’s it.”

Of course, not everyone agreed with that way of thinking. Jennifer, who is a tequila monster, broke a glass and waved it at Melissa Gorga during the infamous Cabo dinner. But throwing someone in a pool is just wrong. So wrong. “I don’t think anything justifies pushing someone else in a pool when you’re all dressed up at a party at somebody’s house,” Jennifer commented. “He could have gotten hurt. It was dark out. Like, it could have been really serious.”

In another clip, Danielle shared how she was worried about her ex-husband’s safety. “He’s 66 years old. What if he had hit his head?” Teresa Giudice, who is no stranger to flipping tables or pushing Andy Cohen during the Season 2 RHONJ reunion, agreed with Danielle. “That’s not good,” Teresa murmured. But Danielle also had some other concerns about what happened to Marty. She explained, “I was a little pissed because I had just bought that Rione shirt and tie at Neimans…so I was a little pissed about that. And he had a brand-new phone.” Of course, that is what matters, Danielle.

Melissa admitted that shoving Marty may have been tempting in that situation. “If he was by the pool and he insulted me, I might have..just you know…let him take a swim.” There was also some confusion about who exactly caused Marty’s swim. It looks like both Margaret and Joe pushed Marty. “He was standing pretty close to the edge of the pool, and I figured, he has to go, and boop…right in,” Joe said.

Teresa wondered why Margaret shoved Marty, and Dolores Catania, representing the old-school and traditional way of thinking, echoed Teresa’s thoughts. “When you’re with a man, and another man disrespects you, as a man, he has to do something about it,” Dolores stated. Teresa added, “I would want my husband to take care of that.”

Danielle also praised the way that she ~~exploited~~ handled the situation. “Margaret throws red wine and pushes a gentleman in a pool. And you know, she’s real lucky that I didn’t do that to her skanky, bleached-out blonde hair. Like, pour red wine in it,” Danielle remarked. “That’s what I should have done, but I acted like a lady.”

Danielle’s season-long bestie, Teresa, added, “That would have been good.” Danielle also talked about how she didn’t even speak to Margaret at the party, but she actually greeted Margaret with a kiss. Wait-Danielle is twisting information? How shocking!

In the end, Margaret believes that Marty’s behavior can be traced back to his ~~bridezilla~~ ex, Danielle. “I think Danielle got in his head. He obviously realized it also because, you know, he and Danielle are on the outs right now and probably headed in the direction of a divorce,” Margaret explained.
