Evan Smith Denies Trying To Reconnect With Kaci Campbell After Temptation Island Finale

If you didn’t catch the reboot of Temptation Island, stop what you are doing right now and binge watch the newest season ASAP. The drama was unreal! The basic premise of the show is four couples go to “Temptation Island” and separate for several weeks to see if they make a connection with any of the singles waiting in the wings.

One of the couples on the show, Evan Smith and Kaci Campbell, came into the experience over confident. They had been on and off for ten years, and Kaci had been pushing Evan to propose. So, it only makes sense to test your relationship on Temptation Island! Kaci kept her journey on the island light and fun, while Evan immediately fell for another woman, Morgan Lolar. Needless to say, things did not end well.

In the season finale, Evan dumped Kaci. It was truly one of the most uncomfortable scenes to watch. Kaci begged and pleaded for Evan to stay. But he left and ran right into the arms of Morgan. In an article from US Weekly, Kaci dished that after the show wrapped, Evan tried to get back together with her.

She said, “He was texting me nonstop, telling me he doesn’t know what he did, begging me to see me, saying he lost his best friend and partner…he was telling me that there’s hope for me and him to figure this out.” Classic douchebag move.

Kaci then said that Evan left to go end things with Morgan. And surprise, surprise, that didn’t happen. She said, “He sent me a ‘thinking of you’ text… then three hours later he sends me this novel text message saying, ‘Morgan’s my life, she’s the love of my life. I don’t know why I’ve been texting you.”

That finally opened Kaci’s eyes to who Evan really was. She said, “It went from, I still had feelings for him and I was still devastated to literally I feel nothing for the guy because it’s just the emotional and psychological nonsense he’s put me through the last 10 years.” Better late then never!

Evan gave his version of events to US Weekly. He denied Kaci’s claims that he tried to get back together with her. He said, “I never made a mistake. I never said I made a mistake. That would have been weird. I flew to Arlington and then had plans to come get my dog and get all my stuff in the weeks to come.”

He added, “I wasn’t conflicted or anything. What we did discuss were some of the editing tricks that go down in reality TV and stuff of that nature. But never a mistake or me regretting it.” Sure…

To add even more fuel to the fire, Evan proposed to Morgan. They are “planning a wedding for spring or summer 2020 and having kids sooner rather than later.” You dodged a bullet Kaci.

Trying to extend their fifteen minutes, Evan said he and Morgan “discussed doing more reality TV together — “maybe along the lines of MTV’s The Challenge.” Count me out if that happens! I have no desire to watch him stare blankly into her eyes and call her “Girl” ever again.

I’m not sure how the next season of Temptation Island can top what happened this year, but I’m excited to find out!
