Meet The New Below Deck Mediterranean Cast Members

Ahoy!  Below Deck Mediterranean is finally back on June 3rd, and with it a great mix of cast members.  Captain Sandy Yawn is at the helm of the Sirocco.  Bravo has, of course, realized that fans love seeing her at odds with Chief Stew Hannah FerrierJoao Franco returns as Bosun this season, and Colin Macy O’Toole rounds out the returning cast.

That leaves two positions open in both the interior and the deck crew and that’s a lot of opportunity for new hookups, dysfunction, drama, and authority questioning.

Based on the trends Bravo seems to follow in terms of casting, there will be one competent interior stew.  The other may be a draw between someone very new to yachting or someone with the skills but unreliable output.  Get her in the right mood and she’ll be brilliant, if not, you’ve got a liability.

Could Second Stew Aesha Scott be that person?  In her Bravo bio, she wrote that she, “was raised to be loud and gregarious with a bawdy sense of humor and always down to have fun.” Aesha is from New Zealand and started herfour-yearr yachting career as a deckhand.  Aesha says her, “end goal is always the same: to have a blast.”

Anastasia Surmava will be Hannah’s Third Stew.  She moved to the US from Republic of Georgia at age 2.  Anastasia was introduced to the industry after dating a captain.  Her bio indicates she may be the reliable one, “with her strong work ethic and perfectionist approach, she is ready to take on being a third stew aboard the Sirocco.”

The deck crew is always saddled with one drifter-type who auditioned for the show, but lets everyone know he doesn’t need to be there. Unfortunately for Joao, it seems he’s got two.

Travis Michalzik hails from Australia and, “decided to leave high school on a pursuit to finding true happiness.” Travis spent the last eight years as a deckhand and, ‘living the life as a jokester, party boy yachtie with a work hard, play harder attitude.”  Oh boy.  Travis also hopes his deckmates are, “able to match his skill and keep up with him.”  Joao will have his hands full with this one.

Joao’s other deckhand didn’t bother to write much of a bio.  It’s probably enough to say his name is Jack Stirrup.  The only information given is that, “Jack ruffles feathers when the crew notices he’s putting more effort into pursuing a crew member than his actual job.”

Finally, there is Mila Kolomeitseva.  A Le Cordon Bleu graduate, she is the first female chef on the series.  Mila is from Siberia and hopefully, those harsh winters have given her a thick enough skin to deal with Hannah.  Mila, “has a short fuse in the galley, but it’s that same passion that has also given her a love of the sea.”
