90 Day Fiance Happily Ever After Recap: Point of No Return

The 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After  season finale definitely set the stage for an explosive reunion.  I can’t wait!!!! I found myself asking is love enough to make a relationship last throughout the episode. Apparently, the answer to that age-old question is no. I honestly believe there are several couples this season that genuinely love each other. The problem is that most of them don’t possess the tools to work through their issues in a mature way. TLC needs to give everyone who signs on to this show, free therapy as a bonus. We all know this would be beneficial for them as couples and individuals.

Larissa Dos Santos Lima’s plastic surgery transformation stuns her friends. Andrei Castravet confronts his brother-in-law, Charlie at the wedding. Kalani Faagata and Asuelu Pulaa reach a breaking point.  Colt Johnson finally tells Debbie Johnson to back off. Syngin Colchester considers staying in South Africa. Tragedy strikes Angela Deem‘s family. Let’s get straight into the 90 Day Fiance Happily Ever After recap!

Colt (Las Vegas, Nevada) & his mom Debbie ex-wife Larissa (Brazil)

90 Day Fiancé Happily Ever After Recap: Point of No Return

Eric Nichols takes Larissa back to the doctor for her first post-surgery checkup. It’s hard to see her like this. She literally looks like a walking zombie. It’s obvious she is in a great deal of pain and hopped up on pain killers.  But she definitely picked the right guy to be in a relationship with during her recovery period. Eric really seems to have leaned into his new job as her caregiver, while she heals. I highly doubt that Colt would have had the patience or desire to help her this much.

Wow! Larissa looks like a completely different person now that she has healed from her surgery. When she invites friends over for the big reveal, they are shocked. I hate to admit it, but she actually looks good. She definitely doesn’t look natural, but she doesn’t look like a candidate for Botched either.  I wasn’t sure how the new nose and big boobs would look, but they seem to match her overinflated ego. The surgery was completely unnecessary, but it doesn’t look bad.  Eric reveals to Larissa’s friends that they no longer argue anymore. The secret to their success is two double beds in the same room.

Umm, Ok. Whatever works for them, I guess. At this point, nothing surprises me about these two.

90 Day Fiancé Happily Ever After Recap: Point of No Return

Debbie checks in with Colt after he has been moping around after his break up with Jess Caroline. When he is vague in his answers, she questions why he is suddenly so guarded with his emotions. She also reminds him that she told him Jess was a user from the beginning.  Colt asks Debbie to start treating him like an adult in the most awkward way. Of course, she is upset now that her man child wants to cut the apron strings. SMH… I just find it crazy that Colt still has the same relationship with his mother that he did as a 12-year-old boy.

He is way too old to have his mom cook, clean, wash his clothes, and vet his girlfriends. I don’t think he wants anything to change except for Debbie meddling in his relationships. Honestly, I think living separately would benefit them both. They are both strangely co-dependent on one another.

Angela (Hazlehurst, Georgia) and Michael (Nigeria)

90 Day Fiancé Happily Ever After Recap: Point of No Return

Angela is completely stressed out after discovering her mother has been rushed to the hospital while she is in Nigeria. She was already nervous to leave for this very reason, so her worst nightmare has now come true. On top of her anxiety, she also feels guilty for leaving her sick mother to get married. Michael races Angela to the airport so that his wife can get back home where she is needed. Sadly, this happened right after their wedding, so their “honeymoon” period had to be cut short.

Angela racing to the hospital before it’s too late, now that she has made it back to the states. Listening to her explain her train of thought while driving made me so sad. Internally she is a nervous wreck, but has to be strong for the sake of her mother. Sadly, 10 days later, Angela’s mother passes away.  At least Angela can take comfort in the fact she had the chance to say goodbye. I feel horrible for her. I can’t imagine going from such a happy moment at your wedding, to come home to plan a funeral for a parent. Michael reassures her that despite all of their trials, they will eventually be together again. People, check on your strong friends and family. There are so many people who will never let you know how much they are struggling with emotionally because they feel they have to wear a brave face.

Elizabeth (Tampa, FL) & Andrei (Moldova)

90 Day Fiancé Happily Ever After Recap: Point of No Return

After Charlie’s outburst, Andrei’s pulls him outside the reception to talk. Charlie is already in defense mode and he uses this opportunity to once again air all of his grievances. Surprisingly, Andrei manages to deescalate the situation between them. But that doesn’t stop Charlie from continuing to complain about his brother-in-law to several other guests. When Chuck attempts to talk to his son, Charlie calls him “weak” for paying for their rent and wedding. What I found interesting is that NO ONE in Elizabeth’s family was able to calm Charlie down. I know my mother would have threatened to knock me out, if I didn’t go sit down somewhere. Especially if I ripped a mic out of her hand and then proceeded to tell her what to do with her money. Things get so bad, Andrei even begs Chuck to control his son. He then apologizes for things he has done to disrespect him in the past. Insert side eye here. Chuck seems open, but in a post interview he admits he is still skeptical. Hell, I think we all are skeptical! Any man who is as entitled as Andrei about someone else’s money, can’t be trusted. I don’t know if he is being genuine or thought the apology would quiet Charlie down.

90 Day Fiancé Happily Ever After Recap: Point of No Return

Instead of enjoying her beautiful wedding, Elizabeth is busy pulling everyone aside pleading for peace. I know she had to be totally mortified that her own brother was ruining her wedding reception. When she approaches Andrei, he informs her that he has apologized to her father and hopes he can get on a better accord with the rest of her family. I have to admit, I am actually impressed with the mature version of Andrei. Instead of participating in the drama, he chose the high road for most of the night. Hopefully, he doesn’t go back to the U.S. and resume his nasty attitude. A part of me only believes he is behaving because he is in his home country and wants to impress everyone. I hope that isn’t true, but I don’t put it past Andrei.

Kalani (Orange County, CA) and Asuelu (Samoa)

90 Day Fiancé Happily Ever After Recap: Point of No Return

Kalani is attempting to be supportive of her husband and his relationship with his family. Although all of their issues weren’t resolved at dinner the other day, it’s a good sign that she showed up to say goodbye to her in-laws. One person is noticeably missing, Asuelu’s sister, Tammy. It was clear at their last meeting that she was still quite angry with her brother and his wife. But, on a positive note, Asuelu’s mother seems to have realized that family is more important than money. Thank goodness! She even makes a joke about needing money while in the hotel. Asuelu almost has a panic attack until he realizes that his mom is only kidding.

Kalani and Asuelu have been in a much better place in their marriage ever since they have attended therapy. While on a date night, she asks her husband to share more of the household duties with her. In the past, I could see Asuelu saying that is women’s work.  But now, he seems a lot more open to doing whatever is needed to make his home happy.

Just when you thought things were getting better, three months have passed and all hell has broken loose. The stress of Covid-19 has acerbated Kalani and Asuelu’s issues. After feeling like he wasn’t taking his health and the health of his family seriously, Kalani asked him to leave. Apparently, Kalani has been tracking his location. Huh? Is that really necessary for a grown man?  But he has been lying about going to play sports with his friends. When you combine that with someone who isn’t carrying their load in the house, she is virtually done with the relationship. Personally, I think it’s insane he is being tracked and feels like he has to lie about something like that.  Asuelu is forced to go to his mother’s home, after being asked to leave. Although Kalani is unsure of the fate of her marriage, I don’t think this is the end. Maybe a break will make them both realize what is necessary to strengthen their marriage.

Tania (Colchester, Connecticut) and Syngin (South Africa)

90 Day Fiancé Happily Ever After Recap: Point of No Return

Syngin speaks to his family about his marital problems. At this point, he isn’t sure if he wants to stay with his wife or return to the U.S.  Later, he admits to Tania Maduro the conflicting he has been having about their marriage. He clearly still loves his wife, but he is struggling with if going back to the states is the right decision. But he eventually decides that he wants to work on his marriage and not give up too soon.  Syngin looks devastated when he says goodbye to his family. Hopefully Tania gives the man a break from her incessant nagging, when they return home. They need to find a marriage therapist ASAP! This marriage is on life support.

TELL US: WHAT DO YOU THINK OF LARISSA’S NEW LOOK? WILL DEBBIE EVER LET COLT GROW UP? DO YOU THINK THIS IS THE END OF KALANI AND ASUELU’S MARRIAGE? DO YOU THINK ANDREI’S APOLOGY TO HIS FATHER-IN-LAW IS GENUINE?  WHO ELSE CAN’T WAIT FOR THE REUNION!
